Hands down our most memorable vacation to date! The Owner actually came to say hello to us and the property managers Amanda, Cindy and Brian were so responsive and accommodating to all of our needs. The view is amazing, the back deck is perfect for coffee and a beautiful sunrise. The huge windows make waking up easy, when you open your eyes that beautiful view is mesmerizing. We have already planned our trip next year and we will be booking with Great Coastal again! Don’t hesitate just book it and thank me later!!

The place is well kept and had everything that would be needed. The proximity to the beach is literally right outside the rear door. Great view.

Could use some updates. But was a perfect layout of property. Loved the private beach. Host was quick and responsive to trim our path to the beach. Thank you. Nice and cool

We have enjoyed our time at this house at the beach and we plan to come back.

Cozy & quaint is what comes to mind. Just had a welcoming feel. Could use some deep cleaning, but otherwise clean and a handrail coming up the front steps would be helpful. But once through the front door you feel as though you’ve stepped into a very secluded, comfortable home.

Overall, what I wanted. Small cottage on the beach. Very clean and well equipped. Because it was early spring could not take advantage of the water. Some nights they were high winds and the windows in the bedrooms were not sealed well. Had to rig up a plastic bag to keep out the wind.

Nice space for a small group! Host very responsive.

There were some minor issues that could have been taken care of esp for paying that much pay little more attention to details we only had one of the umbrellas that was supposed to be on the porch the towel holder on door is broke path could be taken better care of kept getting poked walking through and the bench to sit on to look at beach is broken sitting there a broken wine glass was right by path from a previous wasn't picked up but lovely house I enjoyed the stay would reccomend. The kayaks made the stay even better thanks.

It was a fantastic vacation. The beach was super private and the house was just perfect for our family - 2 adults & 2 kids. Loved the deck and the kayak. You get views of both - gorgeous sunrise and sunsets, beautiful shallow and friendly waters. We loved the house, our stay and the property management.

We spent four nights here at the end of a two week road trip. The beach house was wonderful. We travel frequently both domestically and internationally. This house was by far one of the cleanest places we have stayed. The property manager called us the day of arrival to welcome us and answer any questions. The house is very colorful with amazing views of the beach. As the description states, it is directly on the beach. The beach is in a residential area on the bay. It is perfect for swimming, kayaking, and just relaxing. It was so peaceful and relaxing that we really had no reason to leave the area. We even found a great local restaurant a short walk down the beach on a fishing pier. For anyone who wants more activity, it is a short and easy drive to Virginia Beach Boardwalk and just a short drive to Busch Gardens Williamsburg which we visited the day we checked out. The rental far exceeded our expectations!

Definitely on the beach but note it is on the bay not directly on ocean which makes the waves more calm and friendlier for kids. Bathrooms are a bit small and the beds are small. Couch is not comfy enough to sleep on but the reclining chair is. Loved that there was a hose to rinse off sandy feet before going into house. Also close to some good food. Manager was very friendly and available.

We loved this little house right on the dune on the Chesapeake! There were 2 kayaks we used every day. It had everything we needed, although the grill was not useable, but the owner now knows and am sure it will be replaced! We also rented the attached apartment, which was equally wonderful! Will be coming back!

Location is great, right on the beach. Just steps away. However, it's surrounded by cactus and sharp plants. The fire pit is literally surrounded on all sides by something that can cut you. The house itself was very small but totally fine if it wasn't so grimey. It would not take that much money to renovate but it has shotty construction and everything was sticky. It says the house has ac but they only have window units. It was in the low seventies when we were there and the window units were barely keeping up. There were old dirty bed linens balled up in the closet. The final straw was the constant helicopters flying extremely close over the house all night. Would not recommend. Sorry but no.

Overall, pretty good. Kitchen was a little small and lacked tools and garbage disposal. Sofa was not very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much, and Brian was a very helpful point of contact.

We wanted to get out of DC for a long weekend during the pandemic, but needed it to be within driving distance, on a beach and away from crowds. This little cottage fit the bill. The view is beautiful, it is right on the beach and if another group was 100 feet away from us on the sand, that would have been close! We were able to bring our dog, which was great (note dogs are not allowed on the beach until after 6pm at this time of year). There is a grocery store nearby for provisions, so we stocked up and stayed in for a few days enjoying the beach and view. Cooking supplies are very basic, so if you think you might need it (eg a good chopping knife, cutting board, etc...), bring it, but we made due. It has been a nice stay.

This house is just a few feet from the beach. The area is quite and convenient. Also, the home was equipped with all of the necessary items to cook and it was stocked with plenty of towels. Moreover, Cindy the agent, was also amazing. She provided prompt responses and was extremely helpful. My family and I would definitely stay here again.

Dec. 2019 My sister and I each experienced tragic events in 2019 so we decided to plan a non-traditional Christmas. We packed our bags and ran away from home to this cute cottage just steps from the ocean. The kitchen was very well equipped and the living room most comfortable with a fireplace for the December nights. Cindy was very accommodating and helpful. This was just what we needed. Would definitely stay there again.

We rented in mid-Aug for a mini family reunion (wife and I, 2 adult kids and their spouses). The beach is uncrowded, clean, and easily accessible from the deck. Bring your binoculars! We loved watching ships come and go. We were even lucky enough to see an aircraft carrier (the Dwight D. Eisenhower) leaving port. Convenient grocery store nearby. Very quiet except for 1 weekend night when there was a gathering at the house next door. Not a big deal, no loud music or unruliness, just a big group on the neighboring deck. There is a privacy fence, but the difference in the height of the decks kind of defeated the purpose. The bedroom arrangement was perfect for us. The main house has 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths and the kitchen, dining, and living areas. We gave that to the"kids" while my wife and I took the separate mother-in-law suite. We had our own bedroom, full bath, kitchen, and living area. Nice! The only slight negative is that it is on a busy street and you don't want to try to back out of the driveway. I quickly figured out how to back into the driveway and it wasn't a big deal. Overall, we loved this place and will keep it in mind for a return trip in the future.

Great stay on the beach, highly recommend!

Great location. Visited my son who is stationed at Norfolk. Location was great to hang out and relax.

We spent a lot of time on the back porch watchin the waves roll in. We enjoyed the sunshine and the nice breeze. Coffee in the morning while we watched the dolphins swim. The owners bought new patio chairs, and a bbq grill we quickly took advantage of. Our stay was too short, but we did get out sailors married, and met our new family. A couple of nights we walked down the beach to the Ocean View Pier and had dinner and drinks. We met nothing but friendly people everywhere we went. Had a fantastic stay, and already planning when we will be back. :)

This house is great. The separate suite was really nice and being feet from the beach was the best. I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay! The beach access was great, new appliances, comfy places to relax together, very clean. Also one of us left his wallet and the cleaning staff were honest enough to return it. Thanks for sharing it with us!

This is a really cute house and the beach is awesome. The washer and dryer were an added bonus. It was really nice coming home with clean clothes that could be put right away. The free fireworks on the beach were awesome too. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks for the wonderful visit!

The house was just as described. Our favorite part of our stay was waking up to the beautiful view of the ocean!! It was great to be able to sit on the beach and relax without a ton of people around..the most people we saw at one time was maybe 15 people in our area...very nice!!! Will definitely stay here again!!!

Well plumbing was questionable. Bathroom vanity not attached to wall. It was freezing. Furnace didn’t keep up with weather. Proximity to beach was amazing! The neighborhood or area was quite. Not much going on in town or Virginia Beach this time of year. Washer and dryer were very small but did a fine job Ice maker wasn’t working until the last day. That was a definite bummer for me. No outside lock on sliding door going to the beach. Light switches should b labeled. Instructions for TV and appliances should b in welcome book I would also include information from VRBO at time of rental about every thing renters need to supply. There wasn’t even any hand soap!

The pictures do not due justice to the real experience. The place was very clean. The views from all the windows was so tranquil. Such a beautiful way to get away from the a hectic lifestyle. I plan to come back again. I will tell my friends to come experience this beautiful place on the ocean.

Found everything clean and spotless and the modern decor was refreshing. Loved the deck overlooking the water where I enjoyed my coffee and watching the sunrise each morning. I look forward to taking my vacation next year in the same house. The location I found very convenient for restaurants and shopping. Loved everything about it.

Located in a residential area, not a tourist area. Very quiet and somewhat private. House has had some updates, could use a few more. However, very clean. We enjoyed our stay but did drive to other areas for things to do. Great place if you are looking to be out of hustle bustle and just relax and enjoy the beach and ocean which is right out back door.
