My family had a wonderful stay here. The property is beautiful and easily accommodated our family of 7. The pool and view of the ocean was spectacular! Marlon was so helpful with pointing us in the right direction for activities and was available to answer all of our questions about the area since it was our first time visiting Costa Rica. We can’t thank him enough. The house is located in an area close to amenities but also private and tucked away. We loved our experience and hope to visit again someday!

Absolutley stunning property in an amazing town. One of the best vacations my family has ever had.

Sitting on the patio or swimming in the infinity pool we had a gorgeous ocean view, beautiful sunsets and enjoyed the tropical animals: monkeys, iguanas and different tropical birds. Except for large salad bowl we didn’t miss anything. All question we had were be answered and solved by Marlon who was easy to contact. The property is taken good care of, the gardening company and the pool boy were very discreet. To satisfy the action addicted boys we rented surfboards and hiked to a nearby waterfall (15 minutes drive and ~2.5mi walk one way). The spacious villa is a very family friendly place (we were 6 adults and 2 kids 2&4years) and a perfect spot to relax.

Great vacation in a good property with great ocean view and pool. Very good rooms and space for all the family and ages. Excellent communication with the property manager who helped us with tours and orientation. I strong suggest to renew the towels (too old) and change the dishwashing machine (was working but need to renew) and the freezer. But overall great place.

We arrived expecting to see a bright and beautiful house... but were disappointed as it felt like the house had not been cleaned for awhile. Although we were warned that there would be bugs and critters around as this is Costa Rica.... we were not prepared for what we got! We couldn’t sit outside without getting attacked by some thing. There were nests (wasp?)on the bedroom decks.. so was unable to sit out on them. The kitchen was not well equipped for the eight guests. The bathrooms were musty and mildewy. We did enjoy the pool and beautiful view. Beds were comfortable.

This is an absolutely beautiful home! Everything you need and so much more than you would expect! Beyond a fully outfitted kitchen, an abundance of beach towels and beach bags with every room, coolers, body boards, more than ample seating both inside and out! Todd, the owner provided all information you will need for a first visit to Dominical. Marlon, the property manager was attentive and offered help with whatever we needed at a moment's notice! We were so sad to leave such a beautiful place and we will be back!

We had a large group stay with us at the property. It was 6 adults and 11 children. We had plenty of room for all us to have our own space and the house had a air mattress that helped a lot. Would definitely recommend this vacation home to friends and family!

2 families including 2 teenagers and a toddler and this vacation had something for everyone! The home was clean and beautiful and when the kids weren't in the pool they were exploring around the yard for lizards and other wildlife. The house manager Marlon was extremely helpful in assisting us with zip line and horseback riding reservations, directions, you name it! The town close by had great shopping and food. It's hard to go wrong with this house and location!

A group of my friends and their children from several different countries all connected in Dominical and we enjoyed this house for my 40th birthday. It was perfect. Beautiful, easy, and colorful design that made everyone feel happy. Wouldn't have changed a thing! We had a wonderful time being half adventurous and half relaxed. The food in town was delicious everywhere we went and the markets has everything we needed. The pool provided nice relief during the hottest part of each day....and of course at night once the kids were asleep :) We hope to be back in the future! -Katie

Beautiful location with the best sunset views around. Comfortable home. Super space for a large family or a couple of families. They certainly must be doing things right because this was our second stay in this home.

This house was great location, close to beach and town of Dominical. Great home for 7 with 3 young kids. Pool great for kids. Communication with Todd and Marlon was great.

We absolutely loved staying here. We had 7 adults total and it was more than perfect. The location was phenomenal (although driving for the first time in Costa was a living unnerving) and the house was very modern. The pool, especially with the perfect sunset views, made me never want to leave or do anything else. I want to address a few other concerns some posted, especially because some in our trip were worried about them. First, you are staying in the jungles of Costa Rica.. bugs are going to get inside. We had a lot of centipedes because was the end of rainy season. They’re harmless and can be easily swept away. They do like the first front bedroom, so plan accordingly for who will stay there. I personally did so others wouldn’t complain and didn’t mind it at all. The gaps in the doors are a little large so a rolled towel underneath helps. Secondly, the security was great! There are tons of cameras, security lights, and door and window bars. The alarm system reassured us a lot. It would be nice if it could be set at night though while we’re sleeping but otherwise no issues. Plus it’s a gated community. Marlon picked up groceries for us in advance and selected the best produce for us! Very much worth having him do so as our flight was delayed and we came home to cold beer and snacks waiting. The landscaping made our photos and videos look astounding and we saw monkeys, iguanas, lizards, and tons of birds at the house. Todd and his family have a beautiful home and we’re thankful to have enjoyed it... and definitely plan on returning!!

Todd and Marlon made our stay absolutely magical. We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday with family and friends for 2 weeks. The home is more beautiful than pictures can show. The drive up to the house is steep and exciting and yields the most gorgeous view of Dominical. They were very informative about the local beaches and restaurants. The infinity pool is heavenly and perfect for adults and children with views that cannot be beat! There is quite a bit of wear and tear on appliances and air conditioning due to the tropical setting but if something arises or needs repair they immediately respond. The town of Dominical is rugged and genuine and a true surfing haven. Local restaurants and sightseeing are a must. I highly recommend going to Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary. A great way to see local wildlife without getting taken by the "guides" at Manuel Antonio. And the view up there of the coastline is breathtaking. Nearby Playa Hermosa is a great beach. We also ventured to Playa Venturas 25min south and it was so rewarding. I highly recommend Nuayaca waterfalls as well. They have hiking, horse, and driving options. Overall I cannot say enough wonderful things about Villa Alegria and it's location. We awoke to natural beauty everyday and the house is perfectly arranged for all types of groups, friends, and/or couples. We will definitely be back! Pura Vida!

This house was the perfect house in the most perfect location for our group!!!! We had 4 couples with 2 kids and 3 babies and it was easy to spread us all our amongst the 4 large master suites!! We each had our own space and bathroom with delightful air conditioning! The house is gorgeous and sits on a hill that overlooks the ocean! We watched and enjoyed many sunrises and sunsets from the infinity pool! The location was just 0.5 mile from the beach and although you could walk, the house is on a SUPER steep hill that it made walking less enjoyable, especially with the humidity! However, the house was in the perfect location for going to the beach for a couple hours to go surfing and come back and spend the afternoon in the pool (perfect for babies!)! The house is stocked with almost everything you need! It had beach bags with beach towels, beach toys, beach umbrellas, kitchen supplies, great Wifi with VPN set up, TV, and easy access to the house with an alarm that you could set when you were away! The only things we wished it had were beach chairs and one more large pot for the kitchen! Marlon was easy to communicate with using WhatsApp and was ready to help us in any way we needed (car rentals, directions, airport pick-up, beach recommendations, excursions, and food recommendations)! Besides enjoying the beautiful beaches, we loved visiting Baru Animal Preserve and Manual Antonio National Park and enjoyed a smoothie joint called Joy in Dominical!!

Ideal location and house for our family celebration the last week of March. (our 40th Anniversary and we treated our 2 married daughters and sons-in-law along with our 4 1/2 and 7 1/2 year-old grandsons). We had decided on our honeymoon in 1978 that we would "celebrate our 40th in an exotic location with our 'future' children and grandchildren." The 4 bedroom / 4 1/2 bath house was a perfect fit for our family. Todd worked with us as the date got closer and we needed to 'fine-tune' our original booked dates to accommodate our flights. We had perfect weather -only one little shower on our way back to San Jose- but it was HOT. We practically lived in the pool (in it 3 times a day usually) or at the Dominical beach or the sandy beach a few miles south. The recommended restaurants we visited were great and my husband and I revisited Por Que No? and the oh-so-fun Fuego Brewery in a tree house after our kids left (we had the last 3 nights with the place all to ourselves!) We had one large breakfast and 2 lovely dinners on the awesome deck dining area at the house- otherwise we were out and about when we were all there. To the south the Jolly Roger was a fun and yummy lunch- plenty of leftovers for supper-, but the drive was a bit of a challenge without a 4x4. We enjoyed a mid-day Easter meal at El Avion in Manuel Antonio near Quepos on our way back to San Jose -a mom and baby capuchin entertained us while there. Everything was as beautiful and welcoming as the pictures- special touches of plenty of pool toys, a packed grab-and-go beach bag in each of the 4 bedrooms, candles for a very brief power outage, coolers for the beach or a "fish run" (delicious red snapper), as well as the outdoor shower (especially for returns from the black sandy beach with 2 boys) were appreciated. The boys loved exploring all the flora and fauna- especially the colorful moths and birds including a toucan, a dinner visit from a monkey and the large and bold iguana we named "Hagrid" and his smaller sidekick "Norbert." As Michigan had a snow and ice day yesterday (4-16 and temps below 20) we WISH we were back! PURA VIDA! Our family had wonderful time in Dominical. Marlon set us up with great excursions and was great with communication throughout the trip. The excursions in the area were tons of fun. We will be back!

This is an amazing villa. Marlon (villa manager) and Todd (owner) are very attentive. Marlon arranged our wedding. It was an amazing experience! He also booked all of our tours. He even found dress shoes for my son who left his in the US. He went above and beyond what I expected! The Villia is beautiful, huge, with a wonderful view of the ocean. I highly recommend staying here!!

We only had two couples in this home, but would have easily been just as happy with all four bedrooms utilized, as the space outdoors and in the main living areas are wonderful! The privacy is up and beyond anything we have ever experienced on a tropical vacation. We will definitely be returning with our children next year!

Stayed for a week at the end of January 2018 - coming back after a 2017 visit at the same time. Two couples and three teen-aged siblings had a great time. Marlon (the property manger) is fantastic. Dominical is just a couple minutes away and has a relaxed vibe that we enjoy. Property has many security features that we used despite seeing no evidence of crime at the house or anywhere nearby. The locals we met were all very nice and seemed to have a genuine interest in helping us have a fun vacation. The pool is great - we kicked off every evening with cocktails to watch the sun set over the distant Pacific horizon. This place is a relaxing warm mid-winter getaway spot.

All bedrooms are large and all 4 have their own bathroom. We cooked a few times at Villa and there is plenty of pots and pans, utensils and dish ware

My family and 6 of our friends stayed Jan 12-19 for our daughter's 30th birthday celebration! From the moment we walked in it was magical! From the flowers and towels in the rooms to the most spectacular views out of every door and window. Marlon had the grocery supplies I had asked for in the house when we arrived. He was always just a text message away with any questions or problems and with suggestions for tours and adventures. We hope to come back soon! Thank you Todd and Marlon for your hospitality!

We arrived to find a beautiful, welcoming property as promised! It provided a comfortable and enjoyable place to gather at the end of our day's adventures. The location made it easy to enjoy our planned day trips and Dominical. The pool was a favorite for everyone. The well stocked kitchen provided us an opportunity to prepare meals together at the beginning or end of each day. Todd, you were great ... responsive to questions and requests! We appreciate all your efforts in creating a wonderful vacation getaway. We continue to share our experience with friends and family!

Myself and seven friends spent four nights at Villa Alegría and had a fantastic time. The home is in immaculate condition and is very close to the small surf town of Dominical. It was easy to find and felt very safe and secure. The home was absolutely as advertised and the pool and the view are as good as it gets!

We really enjoyed our stay at this spacious, beautiful two story house which is perfect for families and groups. My favorite aspect of the house is that it is up on a hill in a very private setting with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean from most of the rooms. No matter how many days you stay here, you will remain in awe of this view! All the bedrooms are huge with ensuite bathrooms and the upstairs bedrooms have large breezy balconies. The main living area is very spacious and open with a modern kitchen and a separate laundry room (which comes in very handy since you will be going to the beach). We enjoyed the pool and large surrounding deck area for relaxing and entertaining. Another plus which you will appreciate in a foreign country, is that the home has a house manager who lives in the area and is available to assist you with arranging transportation and any other concerns. I am sure you will be delighted with your stay at this lovely villa.

Our family stayed at this house for a week in March and had the greatest time. If you haven't been to Dominical before, it's hard to know that there are very few houses that are actually within walking distance to the town, and this is one of the very few. It's a nice option because even if you have a vehicle, driving in Costa Rica can be tiring and it's nice to have the option to walk to town. There are lots of great restaurants and cafes in Dominical so you don't want to miss out on that by being far away! Here we walked in to town during low tide and it was perfect. As for the house, it is a really beautiful property with an amazing pool which is where we spent most of our time. There is no shortage of sun on the patio that's for sure! The bedrooms inside the house were great, and it was nice to have a rental house with high-end sheets and bedding because we had really great sleeps here compared to previous accommodations. The rooms are all a really big size and you can't hear any noise from elsewhere in the house when you're in them because they're well spread out. The area is one of our favourites in Costa Rica, it has a really laid back feel but you can still find high end eateries and lots of activities to keep everyone in your group happy. If you stay here, definitely check out the restaurant PorQueNo (also within walking distance) for breakfast and dinner! Also the beach directly below the house is almost private and more beautiful than the beach located in the actual town of Dominical, it's worth checking out. If you have a vehicle, there is a 4km hike to Nauyaca Waterfalls which was one of our favourite things we did in Dominical. It's about a 20 minute drive to where you start the hike, but if you prefer a horseback tour you can book that right in town. Overall this is a great house that is absolutely beautiful, and the location literally cannot be beat. It's either a 1 minute drive to town or a 10 minute walk. You will definitely enjoy your time here, and it will be really hard to leave when it's over! Enjoy!

We truly had a wonderful stay at the Villa Alegria! Waking up every morning to the view of the ocean and enjoying the sunset in the infinity pool were some of the highlights of everyday we stayed there. The house is beautiful and very private. We just couldn't get enough of the large porch and watching the stars at night from the pool! Todd is really great to work with and has high integrity. He responded very quickly to our emails and was very accommodating to our needs. Marlon (site manager) was also very helpful. I would recommend having a 4 wheel drive vehicle for the road leading up to the house. The road is concrete until the last 100 yards where it is dirt and gets steeper. We had two wheel drive vehicles and had to back up to make it the last 100 yards. To us, this really added to the experience of staying in the house. I would also recommend surge protectors for your valuable electronics as one of our iPhones got fried. We have informed Todd about this and he said he is working to install surge protectors to avoid this happening. 100% recommend Dominical! The surfing is excellent. The beaches are beautiful. There is a very good cafe just 5 minutes from the house called Cafe Delicias (across from the trapeze area). Their french toast and nachos are out of this world!

It was are fourth time staying at villa alegria what a beautiful place it meets all our needs and desires views is apsolutly breath taking as well as the privacy also the host very informative makes your stay feel very compertable the villa is perfect Wouldn't do a thing to change a thing

My husband and I have been to Costa Rica before and decided to come back this time with three other couples. We had such an amazing stay! The photos definitely don't do the place justice. We were so surprised to show up to such a beautiful, clean, secure home. The bedrooms are all enormous, with private baths and air conditioning in each. Every morning we woke up fairly early to make coffee and read either on our private deck or lower deck, both with the most incredible view I've seen of the country! We spent hours in the pool each afternoon and had plenty of restaurants nearby to walk to for dinner. We met a great masseuse named Steve (originally from the US) who came to our home and have us private 60-minute massages. The staff at Roca Verde restaurant can help you get in touch with him. The only challenge to staying at this house is the road up to the home. It's incredibly steep, which was totally fine for our group in our 20's and 30's, but for someone who would have trouble, you're going to want to make sure and rent a car for the week. But the beach at the bottom is beautiful and well worth the walk. There are surf, scuba, and boat rentals... and plenty of restaurants to grab a bite while you're down there. Probably best of all, the house manager, Marlon, is available at all hours to help with anything you might need. He helped us arrange transportation from the airport and met us when we arrived to show us around. We can't say enough about this home and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing or adventurous stay in Costa Rica!
