Stunning views, with all the amenities you’d want or need!

Pictures simply do not do this place justice. It is truly a piece of heaven here on Earth. Paul and Heidi were gracious hosts, the house is beautiful, the view is even better, and we absolutely loved Enzo and Bella, their dogs, visiting often! The house is well stocked with what you need to cook amazing meals and there are blankets and comfy beds, and towels galore. We travel a lot and have 2 kids in wheelchairs, and this was the most comfortable we have ever been in a home. Such a great time! We hope to return in the future to this paradise and appreciate the hosts for their kindness!

My husband and I spent an absolutely beautiful long fall weekend at Zanadu cottage. The ocean views are spectacular, the cottage immaculate both inside and out. Comfy and cozy. We were greeted first by Bella and Enzo (the family pets) and then Paul and Heidi. A very warm welcome. We were treated to a delicious, freshly caught, fish dinner followed by an evening around the fire. Thank you Heidi and Paul for a great weekend! Hope to visit again. Cheryl and Glenn

This property as been by far our favourite vacation we’ve ever had. The neighbours made us like forever friends. Bella girl and her furry companions friend were so nice to have around us. Paul and Heidi we owe you our most heartfelt thank you for everything. With sadness we needed to return to Ottawa but we will be coming back. Till next year Paul and Heidi…Cheers!

We absolutely loved this place! The View is absolutely gorgeous! The cottage has everything you could ever want….from a perfect seating area outside where we sat every night to watch the sunset. …to the most comfortable beds ! The kitchen is well stocked with every appliance you would ever need! We really enjoyed our stay and want to book this next year for a longer stay. Thanks Paul,Heidi and Bella….perfect hosts!

We spent 3 nights at this amazing property. The cottage is beautiful. We enjoyed cooking in the open kitchen and sitting by the cozy fire. When the weather was nice we enjoyed explore the beach. The views and sunsets we incredible. We can't wait to go back.

The house was very comfortable, well equipped and obviously a lot of love and care had hone into it. View over sea wonderful. We were unlucky with the weather but with the roaring fire and cosy surroundings we relaxed completely. Kind, responsive host. We would like to return later in the year.

As the wind and snow swirled outside and the sea crashed sheets of ice at the beach below, we were snug and warm with the roaring fire. We felt as though we were in a snow globe. The sunsets were gorgeous. The area is rugged and beautiful.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful sea side beach house! With a spectacular view of the ocean we were entertained each morning by the lobster fishing boats pulling up their catch. The house itself is bright and airy with decor that reflects the sea. It is both tasteful yet comfortable complete with a screened-in porch and a wood burning fireplace that was easy to use. Lovely patio, lawns and easy steps down to the beach where we took advantage of the kayaks to explore the coast. A special treat was lobster dinner which we bought at the wharf just 10 minutes away! It was a holiday we will long remember and we would love to return.

Can’t wait to come back. Peaceful, well appointed and perfect for all seasons. Lol. I feel availability of this property may become difficult!!

We went off-season and was exactly what we were looking for and needed! From the beautiful views to the wonderful fireplace...we had everything we needed and more. Took hikes, explored local towns, and ate at some great places! Would definitely recommend at any time of year!

Xanadu is in all ways a superior property and greatly exceeded our expectations! The location of this cottage, on a bluff overlooking the ocean, provides not only a breath taking view, but allows for kayaking and swimming in the water below. The cottage is tastefully decorated in a rustic maritime theme with a large fireplace inside and a barbecue on the patio overlooking the sea. If you feel like cooking in, the kitchen is stocked with crockery, pots and pans--all you will need is there. I might sum this up by quoting one of many similar definitions of Xanadu--- it is a "place of great beauty, luxury and contentment". We will definitely be going back!

I couldn’t have possibly found a better house than Xanadu. It was such a magical spot and the memories will be with us for life. We want to return again and again. This house is such a treasure and the whole county is simply amazing. Antigonish was a real winner for us.

Don’t hesitate - if this property is available, book it. It is better than the pictures; a well-appointed cottage right on the sea with everything you could need for a relaxing maritime vacation. When we first pulled into the driveway, got out of the car and heard the ocean roaring, all was well. Paul is very communicative and helpful and has built an extraordinary vacation spot.

Our family of four had an excellent experience at Xanadu by the Sea. It was exactly the relaxing vacation we were looking for, and we were blown away by the beauty of the area. This property is exactly as advertised. My wife and I stayed from Sept. 28 through Oct. 5 inclusive. The cottage is wonderful and again, exactly as advertised. The sunsets are stunning, Paul and Heidi have included everything required for a wonderful vacation. They are very gracious hosts that will accommodate you above and beyond. This was an amazing place to stay, very special in so many ways. The views, the ever changing vistas and unbelievable sunsets. The hosts Heidi and Paul went above and beyond in making sure that we had everything needed to ensure we had the best possible experience. Xanadu is aptly named, a little piece of heaven on earth, we will miss the warm comfort of this very special place. But will carry many fond memories of our week in paradise for many years to come.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Xanadu. Paul and Heidi were there to greet us with music playing, candles lit and a roaring fire in the fireplace. The house was immaculate and so much effort was put into every detail of the home from decor to supplies to plenty of firewood to board games and even a telescope and binoculars. The view is spectacular! I have recommended their home to all my friends and we hope to return one day as well.

What a beautiful cottage - perfect to showcase the splendor of the sea, in all her glory, from glassy smooth to angry whitecaps! We had a perfectly relaxing 10 days in this cove of paradise! The sea was ever-changing! The sunsets spectacular! The stars crystal clear! Paul and Heidi are the ultimate hosts; they have thought of everything to make one's stay as enjoyable as possible. This was a perfect place for a relaxing week. Beautiful house right on the water. Great base for other travel in Nova Scotia. Everything was as described and planned. We would have been happy to spend more time there.

Again, our stay at Xanadu was wonderful! Paul, Heidi are like family, as they made us welcome in our return visit, along with their dog, Bella. We felt as if the lobster, sightseeing boats, along with a few sailboats were welcoming us back to this peaceful spot. The graceful golden eagle glided past the cottage almost every morning. It was wonderful to return to our hometown and visit with our friends and family once again. We can’t wait until next year!!

If we could describe our experience at Xanadu By The Sea in relation to our five senses: Sight......breathtaking Touch.........in touch with Mother Nature Smell........fresh and cleansing Hearing......nature’s music Taste......scrumptious fresh local seafood Aside from the above, the cottage can be described as classy modern beach country cottage. All of the amenities, beautiful beds and bedding, modern appliances, indoor and outdoor shower, magnificent decor, and the list goes on and on...... The hosts were beyond helpful and informative. The care and effort they put into their whole property is a testament to their dedication to ensure everyone’s expectations are met. It’s hard to describe the feeling we experienced at Xanadu By The Sea and left feeling reenergized and somewhat liberated. A truly amazing place on earth! Everyone needs to experience this little piece of heaven. A huge shout out and thanks to Heidi and Paul......you have nailed it! We did not want to leave and will surely return as soon as we can!

The cottage is beautiful with an infinity pool view of the Northumberland straight. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets while eating on the patio. In the brisk mornings, what could be better than coffee, a fire in the fireplace, hummingbirds feeding, and ocean views. The beds were comfortable, bathroom tub a jem, and spacious kitchen. Thanks to the gracious owners for hospitality and style. Everything was beautiful and we left fully refreshed. The area is stunning.

We loved this cozy cottage. It was better than described. The views were unbelievable. Sunsets were unbelievable. The surrounding area had the flavor of Cabot trail. It was so peaceful watching the lobster boats floating by as we enjoyed our morning coffee. We will definitely return again in the future. Jim and Kelley
