Second day, figured out how to keep out street lite! But otherwise very comfortable!0

Wonderful home! The lay out with the bedroom on one side of the house and the kitchen on the other end. I could get up early and make breakfast without disturbing my wife.
A nice working gas fireplace, partial views of the ocean, a good sized kitchen. The 1/2 bath in the laundry room was helpful. The rooms were well cleaned. And yes, the curtains need to be darker to block the light at night and the valve on the shower needs to be replaced.

Just a perfect place to stay. Very well stocked, clean. Excellent backyard for the dogs and a very short trip to the beach. I even walked to grocery outlet down the street a short distance. The owner is great!

This house suited our needs perfectly. The location is literally a 90 second walk to the beach. We could see the ocean from the living room window. We were mainly here to see the redwoods, but the beach was a major bonus. This house might not look like much from the outside, but the beds were comfortable, the towels plentiful, and the kitchen well equipped. I do agree with the other reviewer, however, that mentioned room darkening shades are much needed in the front bedroom. Other than, that, I recommend this place!

This property has some good qualities- a large backyard and a nice kitchen. There was also a washer and dryer. I expected the home to be clean since each renter does pay a cleaning fee. There were cobwebs and dust. The main bedroom's curtains are sheer and the street light comes through them. It was hard to sleep through the night. The shower was not up to par. The handle to turn on the shower falls off and it is hard to turn to get warm water. The shower head is also not secured to the wall. There is no metal plate to keep it secured. When I tried adjusting the shower head for my cold shower, it broke off. The head was attached with old plastic pipe and glue. I was charged $150 for this repair.

Nice location to visit the redwoods and the ocean. Very clean and convenient

Walking in the door we were astounded at the size of the "little" house. Large living room, kitchen, and bedrooms were all very clean. Location was perfect for visiting the lighthouse and redwoods (esp Prairie Creek SP). We liked having parking off the street and having a washer and dryer.

Loved the ocean view and close proximity to the beach and downtown! Seems like appliances are fairly new and clean. The home had plenty of blankets and pillows and linen. One couch looked to be a hide-a-bed although I didn’t see any mention of it in the listing. The other couch should be replaced!! Very lumpy and uncomfortable! One of the living room windows does not lock as well as the bathroom window! Only the kitchen window and a small window behind the front door has window screens! We were not able to open the other windows because of the bumblebees that are flying around, so we were not able to enjoy the ocean air as much as I would’ve liked. Appears that the bottom of the bathroom door has been cut off to fit the space and the insulation is falling out the bottom, which creates a problem when opening and closing the door. If these minor upgrades were performed, I would give it a five star rating.

Quiet, clean, beachy feel! Super clean! Great washer/dryer. Adequate fridge, oven, dishwasher.
Need to address the light coming in through the windows from streetlight. Overall, it was a terrific place to stay for 5 nights!

The title says it all, as well as the other reviews. It’s a lovely location and a great place to use as a base for exploring the redwoods and the beach. The living room has a partial view of the ocean which was mesmerizing to watch. The pier and lighthouse were fun to walk to, and are literally right there. And be sure to eat at Christina’s Mexican Restaurant and also Seaquake Brewing. Especially since Seaquake is like three blocks away; the food and drinks are phenomenal, and you can very easily walk there, if you get my drift.

I grew up among the redwoods near the ocean. I have lived in Utah for the past 56 years. I wanted to see the trees and ocean at least once more. This bungalow was SO CLOSE to everything. Loved the walk to the lighthouse, beach, and minutes to the forest. Great location!

I wanted to get away for my birthday and online didnt do this home justice. Its cozey and the ablostlute best spot - its central and a block and a half from the beach and you can see the ocean from the living room. Neighbors were very kind to us and we met the friendliest floof kitty 😺 We will be back ❤️ Thank you for the much needed home away from home.

House was cute and well stocked for pur stay. Kitchen has all the basic needs and it fits 4 people well. We even were able to put the propane grill to use. The grocery store is very close so grabbing necessities was very easy. Would certainly stay again.

All was great but shower was challenging to adjust.

The property was “okay”. A few issues, #1, couldn’t navigate the TV to main channels, #2, back yard was unkept, patio furniture was filthy and not entirely secure for dogs. #3, one of the couches in the living room was aged and uncomfortable. On a positive note, the master bedroom was modern and comfortable. Property was well stocked and location was great.

The house has an excellent location and a large fenced backyard .
The negatives are: the couches are not comfortable, the curtains are very unattractive and the hot water faucet in the shower is very difficult to figure out. Getting hot water takes forever.

Perfect house for an escape to the beach! Watch the waves from the living room window.
Host was communicative and responsive. Will definitely book here again!

The cottage was as described, a two bedroom, one and a half bath with a bit of a view of the ocean. The problem with the rental is this unit is filthy. I have seven photos I would like to share with you of the built up dirt and grime on all the baseboard/trim and the front door which looks like it has been kicked in a couple of times to shelf protectors missing in the fridge which makes the door unusable to window sill dirt and grime to the shower head not being securely attached to the wall and it moves back and forth. I would like to submit pictures to back up my claim. This was an extremely disappointing property.

Stayed at this property 4 nights on a trip along the Pacific Coast. Home was clean, comfortable, nice neighborhood and view of the ocean out the front window. Two blocks to public access to beach with great view of Battery Point Lighthouse. Walked the beach every night. Visited Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park twice and Prairie Creek Redwoods Area along with nice coastal overlooks from this location. Would stay here again.

Hi, enjoyed the area & there is much to like about the property. Clean, tidy, good bathroom, laundry & kitchen. It is good value but 2 specific things really need resolving. Firstly the sofas are extremely uncomfortable & all cushions have little or no support & covers need cleaning. Secondly the curtains in the main bedroom need replacing with thicker curtains or blinds which stopstreet light coming in & affecting sleep. Once done, this would be a great house

Nicely furnished with a nice array of amenities that really made this house feel like a home away from home. Great backyard for my dogs to run around when we didn’t go to the beach!

Very cute home with all of the comforts of home. Nice back yard for kids and pets. One block up from the beach with great views of the Lighthouse. Close to town and plenty of activities.visit Crescent City often and will never stay in a motel again. VRBO is the way to go!

It was exactly what my family needed for our trip. Beach access was amazing and the house itself was a perfect size for our family of four.

The flowers on the table were a nice touch. Your home was very clean except for the ants in the kitchen. Our food and cooler were covered in a short time. It would have been nice to know that there is no central heat. We liked the zone heat in the bedrooms but were unable to use the fireplace...no instructions. The space heaters worked okay but seemed dangerous to leave on at night.
The access to the backyard was poor. The door to the yard had broken slates and was quite difficult to open and lock.

Had a wonderful 5 night stay at this house. It was just as advertised and very clean. Well equipped kitchen for a rental. Nice back yard space and so close to beach access.

Love the house and location, minor touch ups need to be done and it needs a new couch and love seat, very springy. But otherwise we loved it.

Wonderful pet friendly beach house with large fenced back yard. It is less than a block to the beautiful beach. The house is stocked with everything you need but not overstocked or cluttered. Walking distance to whatever you may need, grocery store, restaurant, gift shops, dog park, kid park, museum or whatever you want to do. Lots of adventures close by in the majestic redwoods. The harbor area is filled with seals and fresh fish. There is even an aquarium in town. Crescent City really has a lot to offer. Wonderful trip. Great weather.

Everything was clean, instructions were simple and minimal. We appreciated being able to use the garage. Wish the weather had been better, as the house doesn’t really have central heating, and the space heaters/fireplace did only an ok job. Highly recommend staying in this location, the redwoods are so close!

We use VRBO consistently to find vacation rentals. Typically, we have very good luck in terms of what is listed as an amenity and what is actually in good working order when we arrive. Unfortunately, we received a message from the nice host via VRBO after we had departed for our destination letting us know the oven and some kitchen outlets were not working. I didn't receive the message until we returned home. When we arrived at the cottage, we found the internet would not work, and while the host tried to get it resolved, we had no wifi/internet access for our entire trip. The oven and dishwasher were not working due to an electrical issue, and the heater in the main bedroom seemed to have a serious issue causing us to turn it off immediately. While this is a decently laid out little cottage, in a very convenient location, and kept very clean, it should either be made ready to be rented out prior to accepting a reservation, or it should be offered at a discounted rate with the non-working items noted, should the loss of those amenities not be a problem for the renter.

We rented this place for my mom and our dog. The location is great, nice backyard, and comfortable place to stay. The host is very responsive and helpful. It took us a while to figure out the heating, but once we did it was very toasty.

My small dog enjoyed the back yard, I enjoyed the tub.
The bathroom window is missing a lock. Maybe someone should check the sofas - both of them have springs about to pop out.
Other than that I really liked the house.

It's cozy, with a nice yard for my small dog. The location is really great for walking too. I felt safe. Loved it so much I'll be returning in a week+ for the SeaCruise car show.

This was a cute, plain and very clean house. Decent location-right by the coast. Crescent City is a impoverished community and this seemed like one of the safer, quieter neighborhoods. The only comments regarding the property : the Keurig Coffee maker did not work at all, we used multiple pods (there were no instructions), the tv was a bit confusing (again no instructions) and the instructions for the heat were the owners manual with pages circled.

Great location and they had everything we needed. Check in was easy with a key lock box. The house was clean. They had a grill out back, that we were able to use. This house exceeded our expectations. Thank you.
