This was a return visit for us so we knew the layout...but the villa was totally renovated! It was nice before but now it was perfect. A few things like an outdoor projection screen for movie nights, new in-pool lounge chairs and all new kitchen, appliances, and furniture were over the top. Everything we needed was there including two beach umbrellas for hots days on the beach. The views from the main pool are still beautiful and there are extended new decks to have views to both bays now. This property was perfect.

This is a return trip for us to go back to Sueno Real, but we rented a different Villa this time. There were six of us and it was perfect. With the private pool and a communal pool made it just so easy to be together or be apart. Highly recommend the location, their staff, security and cleaning services are perfect. We will be back.

The location was excellent and the villa was beautiful! We were able to walk to the grocery store and to neighbouring areas very easily. It was wonderful having our own shaded pool to be able to cool down during the extremely warm days. The main pool was beautiful as well. Our pool was cleaned daily. When we arrived, the small pool-side guest house was locked and someone had to go through the window to gain access. Once inside, we discovered that it has not been cleaned. Perhaps no-one had stayed in that room in a while, but we had 7 people booked for the three weeks, so it should have been obvious that we would be using that room. Having said that, the property manager was quick to rectify this problem once it was discovered. The dishwasher did not work. We reported it and after 18 days, they wanted to come and repair it. We were told it would be noisy and we requested that they wait until we checked out to do the repairs since we only had 3 days left. They did agree to this. One member of our party was sick early on during our stay and unfortunately was sick in the bed. We received a bill for the sheets and mattress cover as they said there was a stain that could not be removed. The bill was for $3250 pesos, or $230 CAD. These were not new sheets. That seemed a bit extreme to me. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Maya. It was a beautiful spot, great location and very accommodating staff on sight.

There were several indoor and outdoor lounging areas and we enjoyed them all. Our stay felt very private in our Villa, but we always had someone at hand in the gated community if we needed anything. Staff on site were always so friendly and accommodating. I dropped some groceries in the parking lot, which resulted in a bottle breakIng on my foot. Staff were instantly there to clean up my mess and bring some iodine and cotton balls to tend to my wound. We also liked the location which was a quick cab ride to beaches and restaurants or very walkable when we wanted. The condition and of the Villa was great; we didn't have any problems. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for a week early March 2015. 3 married couples. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only 1 other condo occupied while we were there. Location great, walked into Santa Cruz and La Crucecita several times. Unit was very well equipped, had all the dishes and utensils we needed. As noted on the previous review, view from the actual villa somewhat obstructed, but a short walk to the main pool gave you the million dollar view of Santa Cruz. Main pool the place for lounging around. Place was clean upon check in. Property manager Claudia was pleasant and helpful, even left us a cell phone to use while we were there. Also helpful were Ceci and the maintenance personnel on site, who kept the pools clean after a few days of strong winds. Ceci more than happy to help with reservations and taxis. Overall no complaints about Villa Maya and we would return again.

We decided to vacation in Huatulco over the Christmas/New Year holiday because we heard about the great weather and we wanted a true Mexican town feel, not an overrun Cancun or Mayan Riviera. In looking for a property, since we had never been to Huatulco before, we wanted something that was centrally located and that we could walk to and from town. Sueno Real truly fit the bill and decided on Villa Maya because we liked the idea of having a separate pool to enjoy. The home is quite spacious and we all had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy time together or time apart. It had the added luxuries of wifi, dishwasher, bbq, satellite tv and air conditioning. A thought for the owner or management company would be to supply a hair dryer. We thoroughly enjoyed having our own pool to kick back and relax in but it was also nice to enjoy using the main pool on occasion for its added space and view. We did have some issues with the air conditioner remotes not working (just needed batteries), some light bulbs needed replacing and the hot water suddenly stopped working. These were all quickly remedied by an email to the property management and someone always emailed back and showed up to fix the situation. The proximity to Santa Cruz was a huge bonus, we walked into town many times and would walk to the grocery stores cab it back to the villa. The one negative and probably Villa Maya's downfall would be the lack of view. The villa is situated behind the other separate villa (Villa Tres Hermanas) which obstructs its view. There is also a semi abandoned building right beside the villa which wasn't so nice to look at. We often commented that it was too bad you couldn't pick up the house and plop it down somewhere else because we did enjoy the house itself. We would definitely return to Huatulco and Sueno Real but unfortunately probably not Villa Maya due to its lack of view.
