The house's amenities are fantastic and the layout is wonderful for large groups-everyone has plenty of room to relax and enjoy the views. After driving around the island, we realized just how great Bluefin's location is. We hope to be able to visit again soon.

Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on the island. It was just as described and pictured on the listing. The owner Jane was very quick to respond to questions about the house before our trip as well as during our stay. We had an issue with the pool temp that was resolved immediately.

Loved the property and the surroundings. The house had everything we needed. The beach was wonderful and close. The beach view from the house was stunning. The kids and adults loved seeing the manatees and dolphins so close to them!!!!! And as always the sunsets were amazing! The work on the front and back side of getting there is well worth it!

Fantastic property. The quality of the home along with furnishings was first class! It was certainly a professionally appointed home which emphasized the Beach and Sea in a very elegant way. We loved the screened in porches on both levels. The pool and hot tub area was awesome. Our favorite area was the top floor great room. We enjoyed the kitchen and dinning room for dinners every night for our family of 10….priceless experience. We did have to contend with tropical storm Elsa for a day and a half. This home would be the last structure standing if there was a major storm…it is so strongly built! North Captiva is awesome and it was great being only steps away from a beach. It was never crowded. I really enjoyed fishing off the beach catching Black Sea bass, Grouper Snapper, and a Snook(2 foot off beach). Great property with very responsive management. We were very impressed with North Captiva Club handling of moving in and out. Very efficient!

In addition to the proximity to the beach, the kids loved the pool.

My family and I loved this home and the island. The location was perfect. Would have given 5 stars but unfortunately we had several appliance and golf cart issues and was a little disappointed with the responses and lack of compensation from the owner.

The home is very comfortable with pretty much everything needed for a nice stay on North Captiva Island. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and having a wonderful pool area to relax in. We had our groceries delivered and stocked, and prepared our own meals every day that we were there. We had everything needed to prepare very nice meals. The beds are very comfortable, as well. The home owner is very attentive and easy to work with. We would definitely go back to this same property again.

We were very pleased with the house and the island and would come back. The only disappointment was the cleanliness of the pool. Other than that, the house was very clean and was perfect for 3 couples.

This trip required lots and lots of planning to accommodate three generations, 6 adults, and four children for a whole week. The house was great, with a lot of time around the pool. The third floor held the kitchen, dining room, and living area in an open space; this was excellent! Third floor also included a balcony with dining and an enclosed Master Suite with large bath. Boating activities and limited amenities were available. Travel was limited to golf carts, which were exciting for the kids and contributed to a quiet, pleasant atmosphere. The owners were VERY accessible and responded promptly to our inquiries; they couldn't have been better!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Bluefin! The pool, house layout and amenities made our stay great. We will definitely try and get back.

Our entire family came to North Captiva for Spring Break (plus celebrate my parents 50th Anniversary) and we had a wonderful time. The home was perfect for the adults and the kids with the beach at the end of the road. We were worried that the kids would not have enough to do on the island but we were wrong. There was plenty to do from playing at the beach or just staying at the pool in the house. For a change of scenery it was easy to head to the Island Club where we fished, kayaked, played tennis, basketball and more. The upstairs kitchen and living area had wonderful views and the bedroom on that floor was great for the grandparents. The mid floor had plenty of bedrooms for the adults and the kids room was fantastic. Bunks were great and the kids loved playing with the Wii to get out of the sun for a bit. Amenities were perfect. Inside the home comes with all you need to cook for a larger group. Outside there were plenty of beach toys, chairs, umbrellas and more to take to the beach for everyone. The home owners provided detailed information on traveling to and from the island and they were great to work with. Plus, the house manager Jason was always available to answer questions, provide info on things to do on the island and more. Would definitely rent again if we come to the island in the future.

Without a doubt the best rental home experience we've had on North Captiva over the last 15 years. Owner M was awesome to work with, and the on-island care taker J was the simply the best. J was super responsive and available to respond immediately to our one minor question/need... but I felt like he was just a call away, overlooking our stay throughout the week. Can't say enough about the way that M and J 'think ahead' to what you might need when on-island. Especially if you have not been there before. Everything was fully stocked, and many times back-stocked. We found plenty of high quality linens and bath towels, a healthy supply of high quality beach towels and plenty of paper products for our week stay. Each amenity closet, such as kids pool supplies, beach gear... as well as the kitchen, had a pictured inventory of what should be there. A hint to where to put it back for the next guest. I actually appreciated that, knowing that if something was broken or missing it was replaced right away. House was super clean when we arrived. Pool area, outdoor space, decks and landscaping area were immaculate. Carts were charged, clean and ready. The house is perfect for an big extended family, or even a couple of families with kids. The bunk room with private bath was awesome for the kids. Each suite with ensuite bath was as big and comfortable as the other. With several porch spaces on each level, this is a very big house. The high quality gas grill (which we value) was a big Weber, with fixed gas piped to a porch just outside the main kitchen. Convenient for cooking for a group, and exactly like we would have at home. The gas range-top in the main kitchen was wonderful for cooking, with plenty of gas pressure (=heat!!) which is definatley not the norm for many gas ranges on the island. There is a charcoal Weber too, but did not use. Overall, I could go on about this house and setup. The website/video walkthroughs are exactly what you can expect with Bluefin Beach house. You will find no whammy's or bait-and-switch here. This is one of the very best homes on the island. This was repeatedly affirmed by both NCIC staff and locals who we met. When they asked and learned of where we were staying... said, Oh.... that's an awesome house. Sorry for the long review, but we hope to be back very soon and loved our stay at Bluefin Beach House!

We came to Captiva to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. The house was beautiful and had every amenity you could think of and more. Great for families with kids. Close to the beach. Owners have thought of everything all you have to do is show up.

The layout and finishings in the home are excellent. Bluefin has many hard to find features in a vacation home, especially on North Captiva. The pool area is fun for all ages and has a"hot" hot tub / spa attached to pool. Plenty of seating, wet bar with extra drink fridge and ice maker, and the very important half bath. All three master bedrooms are comparable in size and quality with ensuite baths, huge factor for multiple couples. Kids bunk room is big plus with six beds built in, extra TV area, attached bath. Bluefin is close enough to gulf for great views of water on third floor living area. Great high end kitchen, extra drink fridge, big TV and seating area, and another half bath. Even has a grill on deck right outside kitchen. Dining room table has enough seats for all guests. Definitely will be renting again. Hard to find gem, especially for multiple families.

Our family of 5 adults, 4 year old twins and a 5 month old truly enjoyed our stay. The beautiful home is very well equipped to meet the needs of young and old, a couple hundred feet from the beach, great view, the sunset and soothing sound of the surf are amazing. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed time amazing property for the second time last week. 5 adults two young children and an infant our whole family really enjoy the experience. We prepared and every meal together for a week, throw in the beach, pool, and hot tub to make memories that last. Our 4 year old twin grandchildren call it their favorite beach house ever.

My family stayed here over Christmas week 2018. The layout of the house was perfect - 3 master suites (king beds in all with attached bathrooms) and a 6-bunk room with attached bathroom (3 sinks!) for the kids, large open concept kitchen, living, and dining rooms, plenty of storage for food for all of us for the week, screened in decks on the second and third floors, and a large outdoor area on the ground level with plenty of poolside seating/lounging, nice sized pool, and hot tub. We also appreciated having golf carts to get around the island, chairs for the beach, beach towels, laundry in the home, and beach toys. I even found a small Christmas tree in the closet that we decorated with shells! The owner was very responsive and easy to work with - I had quite a few questions prior to our trip and she answered them all within a day and even offered additional information beyond my questions. I felt very secure about knowing what we needed to do to get to the island, order groceries, etc. On the island, the caretaker was also very helpful, answering our questions and offering assistance as needed. The island itself is such a relaxing environment. I loved that there were no cars... it was so peaceful. There is a lovely beach just steps down the road where we relaxed, played in the little waves, saw dolphins(!), looked for shells, and could walk either direction for quite a distance. We also saw tortoises on our road a few times. For activities, we rented a boat one day and checked out a few other islands, went out fishing with a guide and caught puffer fish (so cool!) and enough other types of edible fish to have two meals for the 12 of us, went shelling/walked along the beach several times, swam in our pool and the Club pool, played tennis, went to the gift shops, and took part in a 5k on the island to support the island fire station. Some nights we went to a few of the local bar/restaurants and other nights we stayed in to play games (available in the house) or use the hot tub. There are also kayaks available and other things, but relaxing and soaking up the sun took up most of our time! I highly recommend this home - it has everything you need for an amazing, relaxing vacation.

We had an absolutely amazing family vacation on North captiva. But I have to say Bluefin is the best. The rooms, the decor, the layout, everything was very well thought out and maintained. It really could have not been more perfect. I absolutely love that every bedroom had a an en-suite. It makes multi-family travel a breeze. And I have to say, every room was a gorgeous as the next. The bunk room was my fave with the three sinks in the bathroom. We have triplet girls, it felt like it was designed just for them. They felt just like they were at home 😃� I could go on for days, but a few things that really set this home apart, are 1) Jason is amazing to work with and very thorough. 2) The home is impeccable and the beds are ridiculously comfortable 3) The dual dishwashers in the kitchen and dishwasher in the pool kitchen make cleaning up a breeze. 4). Everything is labeled and has photos of where it goes, which makes keeping things tidy very quick and easy - this is huge when on vacation. 5) The ice maker by the pool was, in my husbands opinion, genius. And I have to agree. Oh also 6) Of course The outdoor bathroom really saves on the wear and tear in the home and is super handy. 7) The location is fantastic, my favorite beach. Every sunset was gorgeous. 8) I almost forgot all of the monogrammed touches. 😃�. This may not seem like a big deal but it was so nice when taking chairs and towels to the beach, to have the logo, to make sure nothing was getting mixed with the other travelers things. I would stay at bluefin again in a heartbeat! Definitely exceeded my expectations. 😍�❤️😁�

The beach is a two minute walk from the house our family loved the natural landscape of the island and the relaxed island vibe. Fun looking for manatees and tortoises!

This is a return stay for us at Bluefin. The house perfectly meets our requirements. We love the location (just off the beach) and appreciate the privacy this home provides. The pool area is probably our favorite place to hang out. At any point during the day, you can be in the sun or in the shade. Something for everyone. The owner is amazing, ensuring anything you need is taken care of. All you need to do is relax and enjoy!

We had such a wonderful time and would definitely book again. The weather was perfect and the beach was empty the 3rd week in September. The sea shelling was incredible!

Bluefin exceeded all our expectations of a vacation home on the beach. Immaculately clean and beautiful. The views, from the third floor living area, are absolutely stunning. Our family had an absolutely wonderful vacation with memories to last a lifetime!! We were, unfortunately, contending with the Red Tide but, the swimming pool and spa rescued us beautifully. What a beautiful outside area for kids and adults, alike !! Rainy evenings were spent putting puzzles from the large collection together or playing cards as well as watching satellite TV with fabulous surround sound. The golf carts are a great way to explore the island as well as bikes. Definitely a place to visit again and again!!

We have been visiting NC for about 20 years and rented all sorts of large homes. This property is extraordinary nice but all standards. The home is very well maintained and pretty high-tech. There is an on-island manager who is nice and attentive, but the real manager is the owner. She is not working on island time and seem to get things done. When we had a problem with the pool spa and bikes the local manger acknowledge the problem but it was not until the owner was informed that it was fixed - same day. The house is super well equipped with everything. Kitchen lacks for noting. Spare ice maker at the pool was great. Gas and charcoal grills. Golf carts were well maintained (rare on the island in my opinion). Rooms were comfortable. Sound system was good. Pool and spa were well maintained. The filtered water was actually good - we did not bring bottled water. The home comes with a manual that is worth reading. Everything is easy to use once you read the manual. The location is the third lot back from the beach with a house directly in front of it - decent water view but not panoramic. However, this year (March 2018) there was no beach. The beach to the north and south were large but in the center (from Safety Harbor to the airstrip) the beach is gone. 100% gone. We enjoyed sunset on the "bluff" which is a 3-4 foot drop to the water. For beach access we drove the carts south and enjoyed. I'd rent this house again without hesitation. Thanks Amanda!

We had a great time at Bluefin. The accommodations were clean and well maintained. The kids enjoyed the bunk room and I'll have to say, having one of the masters on the top floor is ideal. We didn't hear a peep from our grown kids or our littles. Two additional masters for the adult kids worked out perfectly. There were spaces for coming together (pool, kitchen, living room) yet plenty of places to spread out. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Two dishwashers? Yes! Yes! I didn't realize how important that would be. I also loved that there was a trash compactor. We hadn't used one previously, but all of the island houses should be required to have them. We literally had two bags of trash the whole trip! Seems silly, but I know trash hauling is expensive. Having a grill on the same floor as the kitchen was also very convenient. This was the first time we didn't have to haul everything up and down stairs for cooking. I think the highlights for us were the sound system and the pool area. Plenty of room for lounging or taking a dip. Loved the hammock and outdoor furniture in the shade. Having an outdoor kitchen/bar and a bathroom was super convenient. The last house we stayed out required a three-floor hike for any of those things. Playing music throughout the house was a huge bonus. We played board games and spent time on the porch swing. Ate most of our meals outside on the screened in porch. Evening trips to the beach for the gorgeous sunsets. The week was flawless from check-in to check-out. Jason (the caretaker) was very personable and very responsive when we had questions. CJ carried all of our groceries and suitcases up for us. All we had to do was unpack, pour a drink and start our vacation. Everyone was shocked at how quick the time went by. We are planning another trip in October. We will, of course, be staying at the Bluefin Beach House!

We all enjoyed our stay at the Blue Fin Beach House on North Captiva Island. This was our third year on North Captiva and this home was exceptional. We traveled with 6 adults and 5 children and the home fit us all very nicely. It was great to have the swimming pool at the house for the kids and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. North Captiva Island and this home created quite a paradise for our spring break vacation with our children and grandchildren. We enjoyed the wildlife, the golf cart adventures, swimming and shelling in the ocean, walking the trails, and boating during our stay. Memories were made that will last a lifetime. The owners of the home were extremely helpful with questions and the caretaker was readily available. I can without hesitation recommend this home to anyone considering a trip to North Captiva.

My family and I stayed at Bluefin Beachhouse over the New Year holiday this year and really enjoyed our visit. It was our first visit to North Captiva and we felt like Bluefin was a perfect choice of a rental home for us. The home was absolutely beautiful and the bedroom and bathroom layout was perfect. We were a multi-generational group with grandparents, parents, and three kids and the kids' room, in particular, could not have been better. We had a couple of rainy/cold days during our visit and the wii and dvd player in the kids' room was a lifesaver! My daughters fell in love with the stuffed animals, pillows, and other adorable decorations in that room. The other bedrooms were peaceful and beautifully decorated with enormous windows that left you feeling like you were in the trees. My only criticism about the bedrooms is that the blue room is directly underneath the living area upstairs, so anyone walking around or moving furniture upstairs could be heard pretty loudly in that room. Just put the earliest risers in the blue room, and it should be fine! We loved the pool and hot tub and the two golf carts and 4 bikes were great for exploring. Overall, the house was lovely with great decorations and everything we needed for cooking and enjoying the beach. We also loved the island itself! We were told that the week we were there was one of the busiest the island had seen in years, but it was still a very peaceful, secluded feeling on the beach. We loved Barnacles and Mango's, but unfortunately, didn't try Over the Waterfront in Secret Harbor until the last day. We ate lunch there and it was great, but we weren't able to get reservations for dinner that night. I'd highly recommend it for dinner because the menu looked incredible and the lunch we ate there was our favorite of the week. Barnacles' atmosphere was great fun with live music on the weekends and on New Year's Eve. Finally, it was wonderful being met by Jason at the dock and shown around the house. We didn't call on him too often, but we did have a small issue with one of the golf carts which he was able to take care of quickly for us. It was very reassuring to have him there on the island if we needed anything. We would highly recommend North Captiva Island and Bluefin Beachhouse.
