My very first vacation rental last year totally soured me on this type of situation. The Blue Crab Cottage has restored my faith! It was absolutely lovely. Quiet, clean, close to the beach, restaurants and grocery. I have already raved to my friends and hope to visit again. Thank you Bruce and Michelle for allowing us into your home!

Stay was good. Neighbors not so much

It was a nice gettaway from the hustle and bustle. Very friendly and quiet neighborhood with plenty of small eateries and shops to keep us busy :) beach was very close and clean

We had a great weekend staying here. It was clean and beautiful. The location was great to walk to the beach and to the restaurants.

We really enjoyed the cottage! It was clean and had all that was needed for a brief weekend getaway. The only downside was the dog next door barking every night around 12-2am. This is the only reason for the 4 stars. Nothing the owner could do! Loved Colonial beach despite the rain :-)We would stay here again!

This was our third stay at the Blue Crab Cottage. We love the new look. We picked Blue Crab because we can walk to so many different places. This visit we never even took the car out- just walked to restaurants, stores and the beach. We love walking to the beach for sunrise and later, walking to the bay for sunset.

Very clean. Easy check-in. Just a short walk to the beach. Convenient to restaurants and grocery store. Would definitely recommend.

The Blue Crab Cottage was the ideal fit for our group, not too small, not too big, nice and cozy, just right. Fenced in yard for our two dogs worked out great. We always love the holiday decorations down on the Town common area/square in front of Hunan Diner when we visit around Christmas, especially the large manger scene.

Cobwebs on kitchen ceiling. Microwave is cracked at bottom of handle. Shower needs a deep clean. Was very pleased with property and enjoy it. I would recommend to someone else.

Very cute cottage updated with amazing seaside decor! The pictures on the internet made it look larger than it was but we enjoyed it anyway. Our dog really enjoyed the fenced-in yard. Very helpful information about the area in the notebook for first time visitors.

So much to appreciate about this place! From the convenient walking distance to the beach, to the cute and quaint accommodations, and all the sweet little touches of hospitality throughout, it was perfect for our group. Our Boston Terrier loved the fenced in yard and we spent a lot of time hanging out in the screened in porch. The ceiling fans kept the house airy and cool in all the rooms, and everything was adequately cleaned beforehand. Was also pleased there was no noticeable pet odor as typical with pet friendly environments. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I had a lovely stay here for a weekend getaway. It is within easy walking distance of a local brewery that has live musiv Friday and Saturday evenings. Also a short walk to the beach. I would recommend this home for a couple or small family.

We are from the Philly area and were looking for an alternative to the busy NJ and MD oceanfronts. Colonial Beach and Blue Crab Cottage did not disappoint. Clean, quaint and within a golf cart ride of good restaurants, the beach and marinas, we enjoyed our quiet getaway! The house was just what we needed!

This cottage is in a great location…you can walk to the fishing pier, the beach and restaurants. The cottage is outfitted with everything you need to prepare meals and have a comfortable stay. We had a minor problem with the door lock and I called the property contact and it was taken care of immediately. We also appreciated the fenced yard for our dog. Overall we had a great stay!

We were there to visit our sailor. Great beach location and very relaxing. Accommodations were nice and just what we needed for a few days to unwind and have family time. Beautiful weather while we were there. Would go again and stay at the Blue Crab Cottage!

We had a great time at the cottage!

The Blue Crab Cottage had all the basics for a long weekend escape from DC. We were able to go on long walks around the peninsula, and a few hikes at the nearby parks. Our dog loved the yard, and we enjoyed sitting in the sunroom with a cup of coffee while the kids slept in, and watching movies with the kids on the large sectional. It might have been tight for a larger group, but it worked out well for the 4 of us (we used the extra bedroom to lay out our belongings and as a dressing room).

Stayed for the Veterans Day weekend. The cottage was perfect for us to reconnect and enjoy a great weekend. It’s fully furnished and has everything you need including towels and linens. Great communication with the owners. The small welcome kit was a very nice personal touch. Overall 5 star rating for sure. If I had to pick anything at all to improve on would be a grill and perhaps a fire pit. But nothing you can’t work around. We will definitely be returning! Thank you Bruce and Michele!!!

Loved it and will be back

The Blue Crab Cottage is very cute! It's in a fantastic location - just a short walk to the beach, the heart of town, and many restaurants. The cottage is very comfortable and cozy, with a well-equiped kitchen. The outdoor space is really nice, too. We enjoyed the front and back porches, and our dog really loved the fenced in yard. The welcome package and note were a nice touch. We look forward to returning!

This adorable rental was perfect for our family to enjoy an extended weekend at the beach. Close to everything. The kitchen was well stocked and ready to prepare meals. Loved the lights in the backyard and the care package welcome note were a nice touch.

Great house thanks

We loved the Blue Crab Cabin. We brought our senior dogs and were able to walk them to both Monroe Bay and the Potomac River. We also went to Westmoreland State Park with the dogs. In addition, the people we encountered were very friends. We'd like to go back. I give it the highest rating.

The house was clean and well appointed. The beds were super comfortable and we loved not having to bring along our own sheets and towels. The supply of toilet paper, dish soap, dishwasher powder were all great extras that made packing up and getting out of our house for a week break so much easier. Loved the welcome pack of toiletries. Very thoughtful. We loved the fenced in backyard for our dogs. Very clear instructions for cleaning up at the end of the stay. The town itself in March is a very quiet. Just what we were looking for but also meant that a lot of locate venues were closed. We still found enough to do when we wanted to venture out. If you like it real busy then go after April 1st when most places start opening up and the fresh seafood comes in. Stratford Hall is a 25 min drive away and a must visit on the agenda of any history buff. Thanks to Bruce and Michele for having such a welcoming home away from home.

The Blue Crab Cottage is very comfy and cozy. I really loved the location because you could walk everywhere and there was no need to drive. I loved the front and back porches which were very welcoming. We weren't able to take advantage of the nice big yard but our dog loved it! We also received a nice gift when we arrived. Thank you Bruce and Michelle for opening up your home to us.

We booked the Blue Crab Cottage for a last-minute getaway and are so lucky to have found this gem! Great location within easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants in Colonial Beach. The house is clean and very tastefully decorated, quiet and cozy. Our children loved running around in the yard. We cannot wait to return. Thank you, Bruce and Michele!

Relaxing and enjoyable Everything was clean Liked that house was stocked with sufficient kitchen accessories, along with adequate amounts of towels . Welcoming box was a nice touch. Only negative is it would have been nice to have a grill or fire pit in backyard
