This house is in a beautiful neighborhood and has an excellent sunset view. The house is very comfortable open floor plate with large windows. We found all of the kitchen items to be very handy and perfect for cooking local foods. You can explore the whole island with a relativley short drive from here to beaches, coffee farms, volcanos, downtown Kona,.....

We've stayed @ several VRBO homes through the years. This home was very clean & nicely decorated. We did have some inconveniences--no extra towels or toilet paper in Master Bath. In the manual, it's stated once you run out, you're required to get your own replacement. Never had that stated nor problem @ any other house; most had extra supplies in a closet/pantry. VERY limited kitchen "extras"--ie: no sugar for coffee. There were a few spices in the cabinet. No cooler or ziplock bags for day trips to pack up food so we wouldn't have to buy more. This would have been nice. (We've always had a cooler, plastic wrap, foil, ziplocks in other VRBO stays). Being our 1st time to the BI, we didn't realize how much time we'd be on the road w/limited food options. In the manual it's requested to start a "White Load" before checking out. All the towels were white but we didn't use enough to start a white load. We did a bedding/sheets load. Upon opening the washer after it was done, there was flecks of soap or something ALL over the fabrics. Not sure what that was...On trash collection day, we didn't put the recycling bin on the curb. As my husband was sitting out on the lanai, some lady walked up & proceeded to roll the recycling bin to the curb. My hubby told her: "There's only ONE empty plastic bottle in the bin. I didn't think it was practical to put the recycling bin on the curb to be emptied because it would be wasteful to have the plastic liner dumped out (along w/the one bottle). So the lady put the recycle bin back on the driveway. Perhaps it was a neighbor trying to help out or maybe the owner lives close by in another residence, but we did inform the property company of that scenario & the issue with the washer. We did have issues working the TV in the Master bedroom. With all the cable options listed, the directions didn't coincide with the remote. Watch out for the extended wood bed frame in the MB! Both my hubby & I hit our shins on it since it sticks out underneath the bedspread.

This is a beautiful home-and it’s exactly as portrayed in the listing. Actually, it’s better, because you can see more of the ocean than it seems in the pictures. We ate most meals out on the lanai. At night,after watching the beautiful sunset, it is absolutely silent. Just the breeze rustling the palms. The kitchen is quite spacious and fully equipped. Loved every minute there.

We were told 24hours before we arrived that the house grounds were under construction and couldn’t use the driveway either so we couldn’t stay there after a years emails about welcoming us to this amazing house

Great, quiet property with beautiful views. Great way to spend the days when we needed some down time. Easy to communicate and get questions answered as we needed. I would highly recommend this location for those looking for a wonderful location on the big island!

My husband and I came here from Oahu for a beautiful Big Island honeymoon. Tricky A/C & strange shower heads with not enough water pressure for us. I didn’t like these features at all. The big hot tub/ bathtub had enough water pressure with the wand, but it too was awkward, with too much water pressure. Hiking on the Big Island is a dirty, sandy, but awesome experience. Kona side gets HOT, especially in the summer. Air conditioning is a must. Overall: The view is amazing and the house is beautiful with everything you need- beach chairs, bbq grill, washer & dryer, beautiful grounds, and so much more. Very safe, gated neighborhood with guard shack. Nice and quiet. Definitely felt like a true getaway. Check in process was awkward but eventually worked out. Don’t speed anywhere on the highway, especially heading back towards Kona from Waikaloa by the airport. It’s full of speed traps. Lots of road construction going on here, so allow extra time for traffic. Tourism is coming back. Which is good for our islands. Kona town is fun, vibrant and slowly coming back to life. I would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful home. It’s great for anyone: small families, couples or two couples. Comfy bed too. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Not a party house or party neighborhood. Just chill & relax!

My husband and I spent the winter months at this property. The house was clean, comfortable and the location was perfect. The kitchen was nicely furnished, the beds were comfortable, the living room with up to date TV and entertainment, the BBQ in the back yard.... all were enjoyed! The staff at Elite Pacific were always friendly and prompt. Thanks for the nice winter get away.

Simply fantastic! From every aspect superb, we couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves more or had better accommodation bar none! The sunsets over the ocean were some of the best of all the places we have traveled in the world---right from the patio. We enjoyed great home cooked dinners there, as well as the occasional rain. The extremely quiet neighborhood is the most beautiful we have ever stayed in, and we spent hours just walking through it trying to take it all in. And the birds…we felt like we were in the middle of a jungle while living in the lap of luxury. The accommodations, the beds, everything, top of the line and the ultimate in comfort. And if all that wasn’t enough, a gated 24 hour live guarded community affording complete safety. Thanks for making our stay one we will never forget and already hope to come back to enjoy again!

We really enjoyed this property. My family of 5 had plenty of room to spread out. The neighborhood was private and quiet, and the view was fantastic! You can see the ocean from the master bed. The property feels very new and clean, and the kitchen is incredibly well stocked with every cooking utensil you may want. Neighborhood grocery and restaurants are close. Unless you are set on having a pool, I can’t imagine there is a better place to stay in greater Kona.

Comfortable house with nice views This was a good location for us to be able to go south or north. The house was comfortable the beds were good and I would definitely recommend it. The agency was on top of everything and all communication. Thanks for making our trip even better.

I stayed at Maile Hale with my parents for our vacation. Overall, I was very impressed with the service and the property. I have had a disappointing experience in the past with other place that was booked through VRBO so I wasn't expecting much this time but I was happy that I was wrong! The property was well cleaned and prepared. Welcome gift was very sweet and heartwarming. Great selection of cookwares! My parents and I love cooking so we were happy that they had a variety of cookwares. We had few small issues that could be bothering but the property manager (Emma) was so friendly and extremely helpful every time we had to call her for help. The property was located in a very safe gated community with nice, quiet neighborhood. We had no problem leaving the windows open for nice breeze at night. There is a shopping center nearby so we didn't have a problem with groceries and etc. One thing that was little unfortunate was there was a strong sweat odour from the Master bedroom bedding so we had to wash the sheets before using and bought fabric refresher. Other than that, everything was perfect. The guidebook is also very informative and the house rules are very reasonable. I highly recommend this property and this is a place where I would like to stay next time I go back! Thank you for the great experience! :)

Maile Hale is a wonderful property with a spectacular view of the Kona Coast from the gated community in the hills above the coast. The house is located in a beautiful neighborhood with properties that feel secluded due to the size of the lots and the lovely Hawaiian foliage surrounding the home. The property management company left us a nice welcome basket with some tasty snacks to get us started. The home is very comfortable with all of the modern amenities needed to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Two bedrooms are adjacent to one of the bathrooms on one end of the home, with the master bedroom/master bath on the opposite end. The master bedroom has a large hd-tv, as does the main living area. The two other bedrooms have smaller tv's in each. The property is ideally situated 10-15 minutes to Kailua-Kona town with many shopping and restaurant options, and also 10-15 minutes from other dining options further south. There is a shopping center just 5 minutes away with a KTA grocery store that has everything you need. The drive from the Kona airport is approximately 25 minutes (traffic dependent). Unlike other locations on the Kona Coast, the tradewinds are relatively calm here, which was nice. There were some minor issues which we relayed to the property management team to make the stay for the next guests even better (the remote for the ceiling fan/light in the kitchen wasn't working, toilet paper holder in master bath is loose and coming out of the drywall, and the shower curtain in the main bathroom's shower/tub is not very effective in keeping water from splashing outside the tub). Please don't take these as criticisms - just observations. Maile-Hale is a wonderful property in a spectacular location. This was our first trip to the Big Island, and our week in paradise was absolutely memorable! Family of 4 from Northern California (Dad/mom and 2 adult children)

Probably the best VRBO property we have experience with over our ten year history of using the service. This home was exactly as advertised.

This is a very large open house in a gated community. The house was very well stocked and the property managers met us upon check in and brought some gifts. The ocean views were great. We always had dinners outside to watch the sunset. The property is 5 miles south of all the happenings in town but it had a small shopping center nearby for groceries, ice cream, etc. if you like quiet and secluded, it is definitely a good choice

Property at Maile Hale: This is a beautiful property both inside and out. It is set in a gated community but the house itself is very private. With all the Hawaiian foliage, you cannot even see your neighbour’s houses on either side. The main living area is very spacious and open with a huge TV in the living room. The three bedrooms, two at one end of the house with a bathroom between them, and the master bedroom at the other end of the house which affords lots of privacy. Each bedroom has its own TV. The master bedroom/bathroom is very spacious with a Jacuzzi tub, a shower and two sinks with lots of space for clothing and luggage. Each bedroom and the main living area has its own air conditioning unit. It was wonderful each morning to go out the front patio doors to the covered lanai with our coffee and sit and look at the ocean view! Glorious! Or, if you chose, you could go out the patio doors in the rear of the house to sit there. The kitchen was very well equipped – nothing was lacking for our group of six. All appliances are very modern. There was plenty of parking for our three vehicles and the keyless entry was a real plus. It is very close to all amenities including groceries, libations and restaurants. I would highly recommend this property both for its location and the house itself with all of its amenities. This is a real gem on the Big Island of Hawaii!!

This was a perfect way to relax on the Big Island! Huge open concept main living space and 3 bedrooms accommodated our family easily. Full kitchen allowed us to cook or we could find many delicious food options within a 10 minute drive. Spent our mornings out on the patio looking over ocean and finished the day watching the stunning sunsets. Would happily return for another vacation!!

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property for a week in May. The home accommodated 6 adults easily. Very spacious with top of the line furnishings & appliances. There is A/C in every room which we only used at night. The morning breeze was sufficient to cool the house and then we were out all day every day so it was turned off. Looked forward to Breakfast on the patio every morning and hopefully we were home in time to catch the magnificent sunsets. The property is very well maintained and extremely clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

This property was absolutely amazing to stay at. The gated community is extremely safe and so quiet you can sit and listen to the beautiful birds and hear the ocean waves rolling in. The view is absolutely stunning. Why go to busy Kona to watch the sunset when you can sit on your peaceful lanai and have the best view on the island?! We watched the most amazing sunsets every night in perfect peace and quiet. The house itself is beautiful. Very large but still feels quaint and cozy. Perfect for a family with kids, or multiple groups wanting to share 1 house. The bedrooms are quite divided also so it’s nice and private. We had 3 groups of us staying in the house and you can’t even hear the other people on the other side of the house. The lanai is covered so even in the rare short rain shower, you can still enjoy sitting outside on the lanai. And did I mention the view?? The huge wall of ocean facing windows are such an amazing view to wake up to every day! All 3 bedrooms have their own TV and AC, as well as a huge TV in the living room, if that’s your thing. AC throughout the house keeps it nice and cool, or just open the huge screen doors and get a beautiful ocean breeze through the house. It’s also nice to have a garage to park inside, even though it’s a gated community with 24/7 security and extremely safe. The kitchen is huge and spacious and has everything you need. There’s lots of amenities nearby also. Grocery store, drug store, gas station, shopping, and several great restaurants just down the hill from the house, maybe a 3 minute drive. There are a couple beaches a 5 min drive away and the community is on an incredible golf course. The property itself is nice and central to everything you might want to do during your stay on all sides of the Big Island. And Nick and the property management team were extremely helpful and provided any and all information you will need, as well as responded to any questions immediately. We absolutely loved staying at Maile Hale and will definitely be back. We didn’t want to leave!!!

This beautiful home was large enough for six people to have their own space, but also has a great open concept in the dining/ living area to hang out together for meals and games at the end of the day. The lanai (deck) had the most amazing view of the ocean and was the perfect setting to take in the sunsets. The home was clean, beautifully furnished and had everything we needed for our stay. Great location, close to Keauhou Bay- with grocery store, drug store, Tropics Tap House and Kenichi (a most if you like sushi). It also a short drive to Kona or Captain Cook and the historical coast. Lots of great snorkelling and swimming close by. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

From the first moment we stepped into the house, we could tell this was a property that the owners take pride in and very good care of. Everything was clean, ready to use, functional, and nice to look at. The furniture is modern and beautiful, the appliances are all top of the line, the mattresses are comfortable, and there is ample space even for groups (ours included 2 kids) to enjoy the common areas as well as retreat to privacy when so desired. The highlights for us included coffee and breakfast on the patio, as well as dinner on the patio with breathtaking (I'm not exaggerating) sunset views. The living room is huge, and with patio doors on both sides you can create a wonderful cross-breeze that's just so much better than any air-conditioning (but there are A/C units in all the rooms if you need them). You can also do the same in the master bedroom, and it makes for very refreshing sleep. There is also a walk-in closet that I wish I had at home, where all our luggage could be organized and out of the way. The house is in a closed community with very quiet neighbours, beautifully manicured yards, and a very safe and welcoming atmosphere. It is close to a shopping center with a grocery store, a post office, restaurants, a movie theatre, and anything else you might need for your stay. It was also a very quick drive to downtown Kona, where we enjoyed walks, restaurants, shopping for souvenirs, and excellent gelato. Overall, if I had a chance to go back to Big Island, I would stay in this house again.
