Nice home, beautiful location, very responsive owner. Perfect for our large group.

The house was perfect for our gathering of 10 women to celebrate an upcoming wedding. It was so comfortable, spacious, clean, and well equipped. The neighborhood is beautiful. We were lucky to be there when the rhododendrons were in bloom.

We booked this house for a weekend away for our group of 40-something ladies, 14 of us, all arriving from different locations. Overall it was a very good choice for such a large group - we had looked at another of Chris’ homes in Tiverton, or the Wellington Resort in Newport, but felt this had the best mix of gathering space, king beds, and proximity to Newport. Location: The house is in a pretty, quiet residential neighbourhood, a few miles to a sandy beach or 20 min walk to a closer rocky beach (Pebble Beach), 10 mins drive to Middletown, 15-20 mins drive to Newport, 5 mins drive to an amazing vineyard (Greenvale). Spaces: The common area was perfect for our large group to gather - big open plan area with kitchen, dining, living and games room all connected and a vaulted ceiling open to the upstairs loft. The furnishings are a little worn and the decor is dated & eclectic, but the house was very clean so that didn’t bother us. We enjoyed playing pool, piano and shuffleboard, but didn’t try out the sauna (in the basement down a flight of steps off the games room). Sleeping: Four bedrooms downstairs, and one bedroom plus loft upstairs. Downstairs is a large king suite with its own bathroom (jacuzzi tub & shower) and slider onto a little porch. Also downstairs are: two simple bedrooms each with a king bed; a bedroom off the laundry room with a king, twin, crib; and two shared bathrooms. Going upstairs you enter a loft area that is open to the living area below and has 2 kings, 2 twins, a bar/sink and small dining table. Off the loft is the 5th bedroom, which has a cozy configuration with two kings and a twin, its own bathroom, and a sunny porch with lounge chairs. Bedding includes sheets, towels and fleece blankets (we worried we’d be cold but the blankets are warmer than they look!) Beds and pillows were comfortable. One thing to note is that the sleeping area in the loft is only really usable if everyone is on the same sleep schedule- since it’s open to the living area below. Because all the rooms had king beds we opted instead to share so no one got stuck in the loft and the king beds were spacious anyway. Outside: The yard is compact with a covered front porch with lounge chairs, small side and back porches, and bushes providing privacy from the neighbours. The driveway fits 6+cars. (The host Chris was very responsive and helped us sort out our extra cars.) Thanks for a great weekend!

Third year of coming to this property, and it’s always enjoyable. The house is spacious and a great site for a large group. We plan to continue renting this site in the future!

Lovely house, lots of space. Pool and shuffleboard tables help keep adults and older kids entertained. Upstairs bedrooms great for families with younger kids. Short walk to a rocky but beautiful beach. 10-15 minute drive to downtown Newport. Very clean, owner accessible and communicative, kitchen well-stocked for cooking, lots of fridge space. We would definitely stay here again.

This house is even more beautiful in person. There were a few small things that would make it a better stay (didn’t get the house code before we arrived, there are several wine fridges but none of them worked or we needed better instructions, and the instructions on where to put the begging and towels contradicted itself) but on the whole this was a lovely stay. The house had enough seating for our group, lots of beds, the kitchen is huge and great for a large group to make meals in together. And the pool table, sauna, and other gaming table were a nice addition. I highly recommend for large groups

Spacious, wonderful for a large group. Pool table and shuffle board table kept the older children and adults entertained. Walk to the beach was very nice! Plenty of room to just hang out and relax and at the same time share the space. Large dining table was great for card games! Had a great time!

We had everything we needed for a wonderful stay for a group of 10 women. There was a minor hiccup with the heat and the owner came by quickly, adjusted the thermostat, and brought extra blankets. The home is comfortable and well-equipped. We cooked breakfasts and dinners and had everything we needed to prepare and serve. This home is highly recommended.

Love this home - it was our second visit. House has multiple ground-floor bedrooms which limits mobility concerns. Host is immediately responsive and very pleasant. Home is equipped with crib, high chair, a few toys, games, books.... The pool table and shufflepuck are family favorites. Highly recommend.

My group of 15 had an amazing time! There was so much room to hangout in the dining room/living room/kitchen. The house was beautiful and had more than everything you could imagine. Everyone got their own bed or slept with one another person. The host was AMAZING with communication and providing us with recommendations. I will be booking this house again if I visit this area!

Family from different places all came to celebrate and COOK our Thanksgiving meal! It was super fun for everyone - kitchen and table so well equipped. Fun games, comfy chairs, and walking trails nearby. Everything we needed for a family weekend! Thank you Chris!!

The house is perfect for large groups and is located in a quiet area within a few minutes ride to downtown Newport. The living, kitchen and dining as well as game areas are all open to each other. We had a group of 7 women. We could be seated in different areas and still carry on conversation with everyone! Valerie responded almost immediately to the couple of small maintenance items that arose. I highly recommend this lovely property!

We had two grandmas six parents and eight kids enjoying this beautiful rental. Perfect location for us near the beaches and Newport itself. Would highly recommend

Great house. Just what we were looking for.

Valerie was extremely helpful and responsive. The pool table and shuffle table were such hits and always kept the young people entertained. We couldn’t get the garbage disposal to work in the kitchen and the water pressure in the loft bathroom was very low. Other than that, the property was wonderful and spacious for everybody. They had beach chairs which helped us greatly.

The property was ideal for what we wanted and the host was very responsive and easy to contact.

Property is in dire need of lots of small repairs. Could definitely use a deep clean. Our stay was from 6-2 through 6-5. Yard had not been mowed yet for the season. Landscaping was overrun with tall weeds. Holes in several walls inside. Walls were dirty, especially bathroom walls. Kitchen utensil holder was disgustingly dirty. With taxes and fees, we spent over $6,000.00 for 2 nights. One would think that for that price, property would be clean and kept up much better!!!

Large, comfortable home with many amenities. Owner was extremely response in answering questions and addressing any issues that came up. Very convenient to Newport but away from hectic downtown.

Another great stay in Newport! The piano, billiards table, and shuffleboard table in the massive kitchen/family room area provide a great setting for relaxing fun, especially when the weather wasn’t cooperating. Grateful for the time in this home.

This was my first time using vrbo. Chris made it easy. Great house for a family get away! We enjoyed a weekend of great food, playing board games, shooting pool, having some serious shuffleboard competitions, and just enjoyed being together. This house is perfect for your next getaway!

My husband arrived at the property before me and texted "The house is phenomenal" . That pretty much summed it up. We loved being together in the large main space, playing pool and shufflepuck. Beautiful quiet neighborhood. Shared Christmas there as an extended family and it was just perfect.

The home is quite spacious, with plenty of amenities. The beds were comfortable, and we were well-supplied with towels, sheets, and kitchen items.

I stayed here with a group of friends while in town for a wedding in Newport, and it was a great house to come back to after the festivities to unwind. We were a group of 6 couples in our early 30's and found the layout of the house to be very comfortable, all of the rooms and bathrooms were pretty equally nice - no couple felt like they got the short end of the stick! Plus the sauna in the basement was amazing! I would definitely recommend staying here, it was very nice to be apart from the craziness of Newport and still have great coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Thank you Christopher!

What an incredible house and location! We were there for our son’s wedding and wanted a large enough house with things to do for his groomsmen coming in from Texas. This place was perfect. We also had our 2 & 3 year old grand daughters as well. The room with the baby bed is located in a spot that with doors closed you couldn’t even hear loud young men playing pool. It was amazing! Highly recommend for any large group!!

This house was truly perfect for what we were looking for. We had the best time and it was a memorable weekend. I hope to stay there again!

perfect location to be close to the hustle and bustle of Newport but not have to deal with he traffic and people when you are ready to relax. house is equipped for "fun" and the family really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.

A group of 16 girls stayed on this property for a long weekend. There was more than enough space for everyone to hang in the same area and also have space for themselves. Chris was very easy to get in contact with both before and during our stay. Overall, I would bring a group back to one of his properties and would recommend this place to others.

Because of Covid, we had to revamp our senior trip this year. We chose to stay in the Newport area and found this home. It housed 1 male sponsor, 1 female sponsor, 4 girls, and 6 guys. This was the perfect spot! We put the guys up in the loft area and divvied up the rest of the space. There were plenty of bathrooms, but the clincher for us was the first floor area. The kitchen, dining room, living room, and pool area all opened up to the same spot. We enjoyed multiple activities and conversations at once, and the seniors made tons of memories. Having traveled to Newport previously, it can be challenging moving around the island and dealing with traffic and such. This trip took place before Memorial Day, but the home is located less than 3 miles from 3rd beach and less than 15 minutes from downtown Newport. However, it was just as easy to get to Middletown for groceries, Walmart run, and the obligatory trips to Ma's Donuts and Newport Creamery! Chris, our host, was very responsive and the home was as advertised. It is located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. This would be a great place for 2-3 families or a medium sized group like ours. I could not recommend this rental or its host more highly! We made incredible memories this week and hope to return again in future years.
