One word: Everything! First of all, our host, Madalina, was very communicative, open and helpful right from the moment I've made the reservation. I was not used to this and it surprised me, but I assure you that Madalina is fair and wants to make sure that you will have a great experience once you step her doorway. During our stay, Madalina made us feel like visiting our best friend. The atmosphere she created was cozy and enjoyable, from interactions between people, music, and comfy couches, to activities which we could do, such as playing guitar, painting, reading books from the rich library, sight seeing, camp fire, etc. I'll let you discover the rest, cause there are plenty more. ;) The beautiful and elegant interior design is the result of Madalina's talent and interest in arts. Kudos for that! The rooms are provided with big comfy beds, in which I've slept like a baby. I usually have sleep problems and wake up easily. Not the case here. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals, which you can serve on the terrace while enjoying the amazing landscapes. Multiple barbeque options are available outside. I appreciate very much Madalina's care for the environment and the surrounding resources. The view over the valley and the mountains is breath taking, inspiring, and it induces a sense of serenity. All you could wish for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. The location is great for visiting the north part of Apuseni Mountains and their beautiful sights. I need to stop here with the revealing and will let Madalina share with you the fascinating stories about this wonderful place. The forest road that leads from the national road to the house is steep in the beginning and may be discouraging at first sight, but it is practicable by high-ground cars easily. Good part is that it is a short road. If in difficulty, Madalina is there to help and even pick you up. We've been told that there are plans to improve it, so this little minus could be history by the time you get there.

Everything. It is hard for me to think up of a thing a did not like. What you see in the photos is actually less impressive than what it was like when I had arrived. Scenery is beyond great. The host is awesome, helpful, easy to talk to and open to people. I needed some time to relax from work and in a short while I felt better. It is very quiet.

I have nothing to complain about.

I booked because of the awesome location but once I got there and I met the host and the other guests, things became magical all of the sudden. Everything about the place exceeded all expectations.

The only thing that bothered me is that I didn’t know about Casa Maria sooner!

I can't even begin to recommend Casa Maria and its wonderful host enough to anyone willing to experience some time off and relax in this unique place. The way we have been treated by Mrs Mada has been sublime, the location and the view from the terrace are superb, the facilities are fantastic. Possibly the best stay in the country we've ever experienced and we're big time travelers.

If you are in search of a beautiful place where you can relax and recharge than stop looking! This is the one. Casa Maria is the place where you watch more sunsets than Netflix and you simply forget to check your phone. Nestled on a hill in Apuseni Mountains, Casa Maria is a true hidden gem. We were falling in love with this place as soon as we arrived there. Its strategic remote location, the breathtaking views, chill-out music, attention to details, cosy corners to relax, library, atmosphere and vibes are the ingredients of a perfect stay. Everything is so calm and peaceful that you will never want to leave. But to be honest, the reason we felt this way (home far away from home) is the merit of the lovely host, Mădălina. She is the heart and soul of the place. Her passion and dedication are the main drivers of this place's success. She received us with an open heart and smile, showed us the house and told us about its story. Although we visited the place in the middle of a pandemic we felt very safe. The place is cleaned thoroughly and disinfected according to the regulations. You can find disinfectant all over the place. Imagine waking up, sipping hot tea or coffee on a terrace that's facing a picturesque view of the lake Dragan and the nearby mountains. It is a little piece of Heaven, so serene and charming. We can't wait to return one day. Thank you, Mădălina for your kindness and outstanding hospitality! P.S. I was very surprised to find out that the kitchen is equipped with a Thermomix. It was so easy to cook.
