My partner and I enjoyed a very relaxing weekend in Peketa. We chose the cottage as a base for visiting Kaikōura as we wanted a nice private, quiet space. It was perfect for us. Well equipped, comfy and warm. We’d definitely stay again.

Wish we could have stayed longer - Carol's holiday house has everything, and was beautiful. Carol was also great to deal with and stayed in touch throughout our stay. We would love to stay there again!

We had a wonderful stay - particularly loved all the different outdoor areas to sit in while listening to birdsong and enjoying the tranquil setting.

A lovely house and very serene back yard. We loved having the peaceful outdoor space after three weeks in hotels. Conveniently close to town. Would stay there again except for longer.

Lovely and good setup for families

12k’s from Kaikōura is not far, and Peketa has a beach and a motor camp with its own shop for necessities less than 200 m away. The property is fully fenced with a big, tidy and well designed backyard. It’s nicely done and welcoming. We would stay again.

About 12 kms from Kaikoura. It was not a problem as it was quiet. Bed very comfortable. Water pressure in bathroom could be better. Carol was very accommodating and was great.

This was a beautiful property on great grounds, so nice and tidy and had wverythibg we could have possibly needed. The fire place was a grat featire for the cold days. Great location, just south if the airport. Will highly recommend to friends and family.

Clean, great facilities and location. Safe enclosed yard for the kid to run around in. Carol's communication was excellent.

Our stay was as a couple, but great property for children or grandchildren. Enjoyed the cosiness with the warmth of the fire.

We stayed here for 3 nights and really didn't want to leave! Very veey cozy, the brazier / outdoor area and indoor fire was fabulous. The kitchen well stocked with spices. Would love to come stay again for sure. Thank you for having us.

We had a lovely time in Carol’s house; it is a great place for a family escape just outside of Kaikoura. It offers everything you need to feel at the same time on holidays and at home!

Nice relaxed bach just a few minutes south of Kaikoura. Clean and comfortable inside with a large garden and well set up outside bbq, dining and chilling area.

Nice wee spot for the night. Had everything we needed...comfy beds, sat around the outside fire, could here the ocean which was magic! Fabulous host, great communication, definitely recommend :)

The property was comfortable and most importantly warm for our few days in Kaikoura in winter.

Nice Bach. Very well appointed, i.e. good facilities. Found the road a little noisy, but this may have been because there are lots of roadworks and so lots of big trucks and "clumping" of cars passing once lights (for roadworks) turn green. Also found the occasional train noisy (there seems to be one at c. 9:30 pm which is fairly shocking the first time you hear it!). But admittedly I am very sensitive to human noise, others may find no problem (no other reviewers seem to have an issue). The garden is very big and nice. The verandah also very big and nice, with a hammock. Water pressure a little low. Owner is also good at responding to queries. Overall, found the Bach clean and well stocked, but wouldn't call it "romantic" - more like "functional".

Lovely house in a great garden. Our toddler ran around a lot and we felt comfortable letting her.

We loved this property. Lovely and clean with everything we needed for a comfortable stay for 2 couples. We loved the outside space and the view of the Milky Way in the nights sky blew us away!

Great place with plenty of space. Large front lawn and plenty of trees. Beach just a few minutes walk away. Off the main road. An ideal spot close to Kaikoura.

The cottage is a delightful place to stay and to get away from it all. The gardens are large and tranquil and you can hear the sea at high tide breaking on the shore. Really relaxing and a great place to recharge one's batteries.

The Bach was very comfortable, clean, and everything in great working order! It was very quiet at night! There is a very expansive black sand beach an easy 10 minute walk away. We would definitely stay here if we ever come back to New Zealand/Kaikoura area!
