It was overall a nice stay. The house is quite beautiful and generally well stocked with home items. King bed was really nice. Queens were ok. Did not use the twin/trundle. Nice TV/games/appliances.
Some things to note:
The thermostats tend to reset overnight. Was surprisingly chilly a couple mornings and we woke up cold.
There was some trash left on the back deck.
For the amount charged as a cleaning fee I don’t expect to have to wash AND put away all the dishes. Go around and empty all waste baskets and remove all trash to the outside receptacle as well as make sure all countertops are clean and wiped down.
The cookware is pretty seasoned, the non sticks could be replaced. Definitely need a couple more spatulas. The couple they have are very thick and hard to utilize at times.
If you like to sleep late, bring a sleep mask because it is a BRIGHT house. The shades on the windows offer diffusion, but that’s it. If you’re watching tv while it’s light out there will be monster glare on the tv whether the shade is closed or not.
Kitchen needs a little maintenance. Some drawers hit trim pieces next to the fridge and stove when they open.
Overall I’d rate it a 3.75/5. Would consider returning.

We enjoyed our stay at Ariel's Grotto. The house was very clean, and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything !
All beds were comfortable, as well.

We were all very comfortable and had everything we needed at the house. Rooms were spacious and there kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. Great stay.

Nice beach house we enjoyed it for the most part, but was wishing for a crib for my toddler, wasn’t as clean as I expected it to be from the reviews but I’m sure cleaning sand isn’t easy! Thanks for a great stay.

We had a wonderful vacation. The home was large enough when the 6 who were not staying with us 6 came for dinner and to play, no one was on top of each other - we had 12 total at times!
Just a note, although a gas grill is pictured, all that the home has for outdoor grilling is a very small charcoal grill - messed up some of our grilling plans

My family of 5 had a very nice stay. The property is roomy and in great shape overall and well furnished. There is a picture of Ariel in the entry way and my little kids loved staying “at the Little Mermaid’s house.” It’s also in a very convenient location, close to all of the restaurants and activities on the island. We would definitely return in the future!

Nice place with beach style decor. The master is perfect. I did wish the stairs were not so steep. The porch steps are a little daunting for people with knee issues, a ramp in the back would be helpful. Quiet neighbor hood and comfortable surroundings. Overall stay was a nice get away with family.

This home is a fantastic place to stay. Quiet neighborhood in the middle of the island.
Comfortable beds. Nice showers and kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and plate ware and silverware. Definitely will stay here again . A great experience.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was just as pictured with high ceilings, comfortable beds and a large kitchen. It was nice to have the fireplace because it was unusually cold this weekend.
The only thing I would mention if you have small kids is that the shades let in a lot of light which makes for early morning wakings and difficult nap times!

Beautiful little house. Great kitchen that is fully equipped for cooking. Loved the screened porch for eating dinner and playing cards. Family room is cute. Bedroo.s are very comfortable. Nice property.

First time to Chincoteague and we loved our time at this beautiful, bright, clean and welcoming home. Great communication by the property management company prior to arrival, so we had no issues with entry when we arrived late at night. Upon arrival, the house was impeccably clean, well lit and smelled wonderful!! The house is on a very quiet street, yet close to everything. And it’s very cute - bright, sunny and open. Huge kitchen, comfortable beds, and very well stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware - everything you need. We felt at home as soon as we arrived; it was the perfect place for us to rest after long days of exploring the island on the bikes we rented. When we visit Chincoteague again (and we know we will), we will look to book this same property again. Could not be more pleased.

We loved staying at this property because there was plenty of room to spread out. The screened-in porch is perfect for keeping the bugs away when eating and enjoying a cup of coffee and relaxing in the morning. The house was very clean and exactly as described online. We appreciated having a fully stocked kitchen, with everything you can imagine you need to cook with. The washer and dryer are great for washing towels as we decided to bring our own. But what I loved the most was the extra beach chairs, buggy boards, and other beach essentials. The check-in and check-out process was super easy and convenient. We look forward to booking this same home again next year.

The Ariel’s Grotto was centrally located and in good repair. The house was clean. My only negative was the lack of basic supplies: tp, hand soap, etc. it felt a bit chincy to not have a proper supply of that in the house.

Beautiful house
This is my second year in a row staying at Ariel's Grotto. Everything is clean and modern and it really helps to put you into a seashore vacation mood. The open living room and large kitchen, with attached screened in porch and two grills combine for an overall delightful experience.

Just like the pictures. Fascinating sky ceiling and the house is beautiful and well maintained. Everything was clean and looks brand new. Easy communication, every question answered very quickly. We will stay again definitely!

Great Accommodations
We booked the house for 2 nights and we were pleased when we arrived with the condition of the home. There was a footprint sized stain on the master bedroom carpet that dropped the cleanliness rating to only four stars.. Other than that, it was a great home to rent.

Loved our stay!
Had a great time at our rental and the island in general. The house was centrally located on the island making it easy to get everywhere by biking. Nice neighborhood. House is just as described...cute, clean, spacious and everything you need in the kitchen. Hosts we're wonderful and so easy to work with. We'll be back! 😊

Chincoteague Getaway
Ariels Grotto did not disappoint. Beautifully maintained and well supplied cottage on a quiet street. Pretty coastal decor made the cottage a perfect vacation getaway! We didn't use the upstairs since it was just the two of us. Love the first floor living! There were many games, puzzles and outdoor equipment. Great place!

Beautiful And Quiet
We loved staying at this property because there was plenty of room to spread out. The screened in porch is perfect for eating and keeping the bugs away. The house was clean and exactly as described. We appreciated having a fully stocked kitchen, a washer and dryer, and 3 separate bedrooms for everyone to have their own space. The check in and check out processes were easy and the management company was easily reachable and responsive. We would definitely book this same home again.

This place went above and beyond our expectations. Ariel’s Grotto was absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed. We will be booking this place again for our next stay on Chincoteague Island.
