Our purpose as a family of 15 was to spend quality time together. The quiet woods setting of this property created that for us. It was fine that there wasn't a lot of "activities" to fill our time.....the shelves of books & many cozy seating arrangements called us to enjoy simple things....letting any busyness back home....soaking in the appreciation of our relationships. Our hosts were excellent in every way!

It was perfect for my family. 3 grandson 10, 8 an 3 an they loved the lake play area! They caught fish so much they got bored. They enjoyed the canoe an They loved hearing all the stories about the antiques.They even learned how to play chess!!! The house is like museum. An tons of beds lots of seating inside an out. An very close to pennyrile state park. Theres 2 fire pits we didn’t get to use but the land an house is so beautiful, peaceful an we loved all the decor. We could have stayed at the house the whole time. Will deff plan a return trip.

We had 7 adults and 8 children with us on our family vacation and had a marvelous time. The house was well equipped across the board and the owners very patient with our noisy family. Top notch hospitality! Thank you for a great place to make great memories!

This was a perfect place to stay for our extended family of 15. We loved being right on the lake and having immediate access to a kayak and several canoes as well as fishing poles. Lots seating throughout the house and outside. Perfectly situated hammocks, rocking benches, etc for adults to relax AND see the kids playing in the water. A cozy Fire pit area with lots of seating and they generously provided wood for our campfire. There was even a good number of camping roasting sticks for hot dogs/s’mores, a family sized griddle, etc. A little of something for everyone. The house was very clean, but the only downside was that it was somewhat cluttered. There are two wood guns (Think red rider) immediately as you enter the home with one that is easily accessible to children. It can easily be moved somewhere else if that is an issue for your family. There are so many books, games, amenities and decor that there wasn’t any dedicated pantry space to store our food items. We made do with a desk in the side dining room. Just come prepared for not a lot of counter space & you’ll be delighted with everything this place has to offer. The owner was very friendly and a great communicator. I would highly recommend staying here.

The rural location and beautiful views were perfect for our 15 person family trip for my Mom’s birthday. The property owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They were responsive to all communication almost immediately. We had such a great time and would definitely stay again!

We will definitely return. Absolutely incredible property and very spacious house with all the necessities. House is decorated top to bottom with antiques and various decor which was fun to discover during our stay. The back deck overlooks the lake and is very scenic. Very quiet retreat!

Great quiet location Large porches Well equipped Clean

So easy, and beautiful. The house is open in the middle. So that even in the kitchen or upstairs you can join in on the conversation. But if you wanted quiet time you could simply retire to a bedroom. There were quirky touches inside and out that made for good photo ops and conversation. We loved kayaking and canoeing on the lake and watching the fish and geese. Our dog loved having the open space to run. The hosts were both kind and helpful. Great place. 5 stars. A plus.

This place was amazing everything we needed for a great time for the 5 night we were there plenty of room for the twelve of us. The lake was fun and they provided with canoes and boats. Thanks again

3 families 10 people Fun relaxing stay

Always hard when 5 different family units involved to please everyone. But this property got a thumbs up from all. Relaxing, beautiful scenery and so fun with all the antiques and what nots collected over the years. Will return for next year’s family reunion!

Our family came from 4 different states to have an enjoyable. The home is on a beautiful lake. We were not diappointed. The home was very pleasant to view the different decor in each room. This meet our needs. The kitchen was very well equiped. The kayaks and were a big hit for everyone. Travis responed quickly to any questions we had. Would use this property again.

Something out of a movie, the view of the lake and the traditional cabin feel inside. Check-in was smooth and easy. Lots to do with a basketball court, canoes and kayaks, we would have been more than happy to spend the full week just at the house.

The owners were excellent hosts always there to answer any questions concerning our stay. The grounds were beautiful and very peaceful with the lake there though the weather wasn't pleasant for our stay. But, the experience staying at the cabin was wonderful plenty of space for us to spread out as a family. The accommodations were as it should be well kept and the cabin was clean in all the rooms, plenty of bathrooms was a bonus. We're making plans to rebook this cabin in the coming year this time with better weather but nevertheless highly recommended. And the privacy of the surrounds was very peaceful. Definitely recommended for a large family gathering.

We were so happy with the home and property. Private location on lake, where we could have our dogs run and walk. The home is wonderful - large, clean and fun to be in. The front and back porch were great when it rained. The owner was very responsive on questions.

This was a great place very beautiful property if your looking for something for somewhere off the beatin path. We were staying while we fished a samll bass tourney plenty of parking we had 5 boats and trucks owners where great if were ever hear again will stay again

We stayed here because we were attending a wedding in the area. The cabin was absolutely beautiful! We loved the property, the view and enjoyed the fire pit. The cabin was super clean. Can’t say enough about this gorgeous place!

We had a very relaxing, peaceful stay at this lovely home - perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city! The home itself was clean, comfortable, and large enough to fit all of our family comfortably. Our kids enjoyed canoeing and fishing in the lake, and our dog loved roaming around the huge property. When they were ready to come inside, the Internet worked well enough that they could play their games, although we also spent time playing the many board games available there. I enjoyed relaxing with a good book (of which they have many) while sitting on the deck overlooking the water. Crofton has a few smaller stores, but if you need something that they don't have, Walmart is just 1/2 hour away. The homeowners are very responsive if you have any questions or need anything. My family fell in love with the place and didn't want to leave! We do have two suggestions. First, because of the lofted ceilings, the large family room could use a little more light, maybe a couple more lamps or something. Great for watching movies, not so much for reading or playing board games after dark. Second, there were a number of what we identified as European hornets around the home. Because it's lakeside, we anticipated bugs, but these were the largest hornets we've ever seen! Thankfully, they don't seem to be aggressive, and they tend to fly near lights, so none of us were stung, but anyone coming should be prepared. Overall, we had a wonderful time and hope to be able to return next year!

We all (7 adults) had a wonderful week long stay. While a few minor issues popped up the communication was excellent and everything was quickly taken care of. We could not say nicer things about the hosts and would recommend this cabin to anyone.

This is our second time staying at the cabin and once again, it did not disappoint! We enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and just relaxing on the covered deck gazing at the beautiful view of the lake! We will be back for sure!

Everything was perfect at this property. The owners live on the site, they answered every question we had quickly. We had a very very slight water drip, it was handled professionally in 30 minutes. Each morning of our stay a new little stash of play toys for the kids appeared on the porch, sand toys, water table, wagon, kiddie pool. They were so excited! Everything worked perfectly here, direct tv, wifi, appliances, ac. The beds were wonderful. We lacked for nothing! The fishing was great, the kayaks and canoes were fun, the little beach was great for the kids, walking the property in the morning was beautiful! Hummingbirds galore! I cant think of a single thing that would make this cottage better!

There were a total of 10 of us that stayed. 5 adults and 5 kids. The owners were amazing. We had an issue with wifi when we first arrived and I had a response to my message within minutes. The issue was fixed immediately. The wifi was a little spotty and cell service (verizon) was as well. But, both did work. We were still able to stream tv shows on one device and all were able to use social media. This was expected since we were so far out in the country. Not a negative issue at all. The house was far off of the road and very peaceful. We enjoyed the many board games and 2 family tables. The lake was great for fishing and we enjoyed the use of the canoes. There is a small area for children's swimming that has been cleared out and the kids really enjoyed it. There is an abundance of kitchen utensils, pots, pans, silverware and glasses... etc. You won't need to bring any of that along. The freezer is good sized. We were worried about bringing 3 families together and how we would fit everything in, but the fridge was perfect. We stopped at a Walmart 30 minutes away to grab groceries ahead of time. In Crofton there is a nice little amish grocery store that has different fresh baked goods each day. We especially enjoyed Tuesday (cookies) and Thursday (pie). There is also a gas station that sells bait and a dollar general. Don't forget the pennyrile state park. The swimming area is free and open to the public during the week. It is only a short drive away. Around 15 minutes. Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay and it was worth every penny. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us.

It’s a place you come to unwind from the big city and reconnect with your loved ones and friends! So many board games and books to choose from for all ages! Our little toddler loved the beach and the LEGO’s. Plenty of amenities like towels, blankets, dishes, cookware. Kayaks and fishing on the dock were a hit with the guys and kids. The host was so patient and accommodating with all my questions. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with our family. We had lots of laughs and created so many memories for all the kids!

Great property with exceptional hospitzlity.

This was our yearly family vacation for 7 adults and 2 children (3 and 5 yo). It was perfect for young and old to fish (although it was a bit of a walk to the lake for grandpa). The back porch was perfect for summer afternoon and evening gatherings. There was plenty of sitting and sleeping space and all types of games. We had a great time! Added bonus was finding Detweiler Meats in Crofton, KY.

The house was great, more then enough room for our family. The Hosts were great answered calls and messages quickly. Our family enjoyed the fishing my son caught his first fish! If your looking for a large home to get the whole family together, look no further.

This was our first time to visit but we will definitely be back. It's a peaceful place to relax and spend time with family or friends.
