We had the most amazing trip to Casa Bonita. This property is exactly as described—two adjacent apartments which can be rented together for some more space and privacy. Both apartments have everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. The kitchens have all the supplies you’ll need to make a meal, and there are grocery stores nearby for supplies. We enjoyed Eclipse for a beautiful meal right on the beach and fell in love with Ola Lola’s, a local bar with great food and a lovely atmosphere . Verde Azul is a local surf shop that took excellent care of us and we would highly recommend it! There’s great surfing and beautiful clear water at Jobos beach which is a short drive from Casa Bonita. If you just want to hang out at the house, Playa Shacks is absolutely gorgeous—we took beach walks each day and it never gets old. The sunsets from Casa Bonita are to die for!! Hosts Larry and Margie are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet and they are a wealth of information. This is an incredibly special spot and we can’t wait to go back!

Loved the location right on the beach! The view is incredible! We spent hours walking miles on the beach and snorkeling and hanging out by the pool enjoying the view and listening to the waves! There were lots of surfers, paddle boarders, kite surfers, etc riding the waves right ifront of the house, so its a great location if you're into those sports - and they're fun to watch if you aren't! The pool was nice for cooling off. Lots of areas to sit outside in the sun or shade. There's a foot bath and hose as you come up from the beach as well as an outdoor shower - very convenient. We enjoyed walking down the beach for dinner at Eclipse. Ola Lolas is a short walk/drive and super cute with good food. Jobo's beach is about a 1.5-2 mile walk down the beach or a short drive. The waves were calmer there and easy snorkeling to the right where the rocks are and there's some places to eat and drink there, although the only place we ate there was Tsunami - the staff was really nice and the food was pretty good. The waterfalls in San Sebastian were only about a half hour drive and we enjoyed going there. A few minutes drive up the hill is a food truck area and one of the trucks sells acai bowels - so good! The Palmas restaurant is about a block from the food truck area and was really good and we liked the staff and people there - all so nice! Overall, it felt like a home away from home and we had a wonderful, relaxing vacation!

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The accommodations were perfect for our family. My husband and two children (age 20+) enjoyed beach access, beautiful decks and outdoor dining. The location was close to several beaches to surf, bodyboard , or lounge without crowds. Owner Larry and family gave us privacy, but were available to answer questions if needed. Beautiful property and location- it was hard to leave!

I wasn’t able to come on the trip last minute bc our son was having seizures. But my husband and his friends had a great relaxing time! Thank you for your hospitality!

Our family has stayed at Shacks beach several times. Casa Bonita is certainly up there as one of the nicest. Super clean and well maintained with a great view. We reserved both CB1 & 2 which I highly recommend if you like privacy and don't want to share the pool. Both units are well, appointed and the beds very comfortable. Most of our time was spent outdoors by the pool, beach or the wonderful covered porch. Very good snorkeling directly in front of the house. Larry and Vincent are both very accommodating. As far as things to do I would recommend the private tropical trail horse ride...excellent. the kids took surf lessons at Jobos just a few minutes up the road. The next day we rented surfboards. Be careful as Jobos has a strong rip current. Plenty of close by good restaurants, empenada stands etc... to choose from. We didnt care for the restaurant at Villa Montana, but enjoyed 5 (cinco), Monsoon and Tullum. FYI- there is a guy that goes out diving for lobster several days a week on Shacks beach in an orange boat. We were able to buy 4 lobstesr right when he came in. They were delicious! Overall a great place to stay and wonderful vacation. You won't be disapointed.

My family and I were looking for a place to get some RnR. This was just what we needed and more. We loved the apartments and the neighborhood. The views were breathtaking. Great restaurants nearby. We felt safe and free to enjoy. Larry and Vincent were both wonderful. Vincent helped us out in a few things and was always respectful, informative and pleasant. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Larry!!

We had such a wonderful relaxing time at this little slice of paradise. House was perfect and couldn’t have been in a better location. Sad we had to leave!

Property was better than described. The location, view , beach and pool where awesome. I felt we had the nicest home at the beach. We loved having the house to ourself. The patio and green areas are really well taken care of. All the information provided by the owner made our stay easier. Loved our family vacation.

What a great stay! The family loved the patio, pool, and access to the beach. Larry was great to communicate with. Vincent came to fix any problems we ran into. He was also great to deal with. We also had a visitor every night. A little white kitten. He was very cool. We just hope everyone else treats him well. We will definitely stay here again.

Larry was a wonderful host, available to solve any small glitches or answer questions. The property itself is just amazing. Because it’s in Isabela, the beach feels private, you can walk easily to Jobos, 7 minutes from a wonderful dive shop, less to our favorite arepas food truck, and a quick stroll to Ola Lolas for happy hour or dinner. If you can bring yourself to leave the property. Most nights we just grilled something and set up sunset dinner on the patio. I didn’t think we would use the pool but it was used every day. Snorkeling right down the stairs can’t be beat although you do have to watch the current. Everything you need to enjoy PR is on this side of the island, and the outdoor patio tops anything you could find in a resort. It was more than we’d hoped for.

Larry and Vinny helped us tackle a rental car problem in the first 24 hrs of our trip. They made a stressful situation manageable and could not have been nicer. Forever grateful!! We loved the house and the location. We snorkeled out front every day. Saw: sea turtles, a moray eel, crabs, stingray, and countless colorful fish. We did day trips to crash boat beach, survival beach and cascada gozalandia. It was so hard to leave at the end of 6 days.

Could not imagine what more we could have needed. The location is supreme; there are so many places to explore within driving distance , and spectacular (!!) snorkeling right out front as well as a nice break for surfing.... The oversized, covered patio was a comfortable outdoor living space that keeps you cool when you need a break from the sun. There are plenty of restaurants (and a grocery) within a 5/10 minute drive. We found every aspect of the property to be perfect for our party of 4 adults and we will be coming back soon!

This is truly a slice of heaven in PR. We could not have made this trip successful without the hospitality of Larry and Margie. They are the most lovely, kind people you’ll ever meet and helped with many logistical issues for us! We felt instantly at home. The property is to die for and the best of all the worlds. We rented both units and it was perfect for a family of 4-6. The house is the most magnificent on the beach by far with direct access to the beach where the gorgeous water awaits. My family and I have been traveling to Puerto Rico for many years, After researching for the best place for our winter vacation in the island, I was impressed by the reviews of Casa Bonita. Upon our arrival and throughout our stay found reviews to be accurate, Gorgeous property,clean, stunning location,professional service.... My opinion ,the best place in Shacks beach and Perhaps on the island,hard to find a match to all the good qualities that Casa Bonita provides. Many thanks to the wonderful owner for this piece of paradise in Puerto Rico. Myself and my husband, along with a family of some very close friends joined us on our trip. The combination of two apartments allowed us to share not only our own privacy but days and evenings of fun together. The photos on the listing are very accurate. The kitchens in both units are well stocked with what you would need to prepare a fantastic breakfast, lunch or dinner. The beach is amazing for snorkeling which some of our party enjoyed. For those of you who enjoy watching activities of sports on the beach, you won't want to miss this. There is an array of sports performances on this beach that range from from kite surfing to paddle boarding, snorkeling and surfing. The grounds are well manicured as well as the property. A car rental is a plus as there are so many day trips to take and so many things to see. Don't worry about getting lost on a back road, as each one has its special meaning of beauty of this part of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed the two weeks we were there. The owners are fantastic and so easy to work with which makes traveling here a special treasure.

We enjoyed our week at Casa Bonita. The pool was great, the rooms were spotless. The kitchen was well-stocked. We got some fish and cooked them on the grill. The grill is handy, right outside on the porch.... plenty of "tools" for the grill to make the job easy. Having the washer and dryer is nice, too, since we did have some clothes that we wanted washed while we were there. The view was amazing! We enjoyed just sitting and relaxing in the chairs overlooking the beach. We also enjoyed having coffee out there in the early morning, and just watching the sun come up. We snorkled the blue hole, and saw some incredible fish and other sea life. I wish we had found the game drawer earlier; there were lots of things we could have taken advantage of (dominoes, etc). We would recommend Larry's place to anyone who wants a nice beach-side, WITH POOL, place to stay in Aguadilla.

My family and a were referred to Casa Bonita by friends that have been to Playa Shacks area in the past. I quickly hopped on the website and was thrilled to see the beautiful photos of Casa Bonita. As a Sales Executive for a Five Diamond hotel, I am (admittingly) a bit jaded in terms of travel, accommodations, and hospitality. Casa Bonita was amazing! We rented the two bedroom until for 8 days and were extremely happy with the decor and the cleanliness of the unit. The pool and patio area are heavenly, and the beach below was fantastic (and very clean). All of the physical beauty pales in comparison to the genuine and gracious hospitality we received by Larry and Margie. They were a wealth of information on the area, the surf spots, places to eat, beaches to vist.... They were so warm and welcoming and we really felt they were truly happy to share their beautiful home with us. We loved every minute of every day -- and will definitley be back! If you have the opportunity to get to this part of PR I would highly recommend staying at Casa Bonita.

This is a truly amazing property right on the beach. Shacks beach has to be one of the best beaches on the island. The house is amazing an if not mistaken is the only rental property with pool as well. We had an amazing time, spending our days, snorkeling, paddle boarding, surfing, swimming, hanging around the pool, watching beautiful sunsets and BBQ-ing. The house is incredible and has that "home feel" to it. It has everything you need and then some. Bottom line is that we had a vacation to remember for ever. My daughter even learned how to surf and my wife is already making plans to return soon. We are very happy to have found this property and the owner (even though we only met through email) was very helpful and all the planing went super smooth. I recommend this place 100%.

This is a great property. owner is diligent, professional guy. Things are kept in perfect order. 6 months later and I can't think of anything I would have liked differant except more fish in the cove. The trick is to fish after 10 pm with crabs. unfortunately, i was hooked into tide and by 9 pm i was out like a light. we brough infant and owners were gracias and helpful. for those of you who have to or need to work as I did, owners have great internet connection. made the deal for me as I stayed almost two weeks and couldn't be out of touch that long. Loved the place, loved the locale. even loved the cool 10 minute rains that come in often. We loaded up on groceries in town and almost ate all our meals in unit. we took some day trips. always had fun. lots of traffic no matter what time of day. No need to speak spanish. US currency and credit cards work ever where. unit is clean, well air conditioned and well apointed. if you are a finicky traveler, you will enjoy this place. Big 4 stars. Would absolutely recommend this.

We stayed as a couple at Casa Bonita from February 11 to 18, 2012 in the one bedroom unit - CB1. The apartment offers spectacular views of Shacks Beach (Playa Shacks). It is well equipped and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is more than adequate. There is a BBQ and we chose to cook most of our dinners in and eat our lunches out. We would recommend the Econo (Gate 5) for your grocery needs. The pool and deck area is well appointed with numerous sitting areas, tables and comfortable furniture. The deck area offers fantastic views of the ocean and surf. At any time of the day you can watch various types of surfing and water sports right from the deck (surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing, etc.). There is world class snorkeling available directly in front of Casa Bonita. Talk to Larry about snorkel equipment and how to access the snorkel areas. A dip in the pool after exploring or soaking up the sun was appreciated. We would recommend a car rental. The roads are easy to navigate and signs and directions easy to follow. Larry is a fountain of information when it comes to directions. Puerto Rican drivers are not particularly courteous and traffic can be heavy at times, patience is a virtue. We didn’t do a lot of exploring but preferred to enjoy the facilities and views offered at Casa Bonita. Ola Lola’s is in walking distance and is a must visit. They are only open from 3:00 pm till 9:00 pm from Friday to Monday. Go for drinks or even include dinner as we did. You will not be disappointed. It is a fun and lively venue. We also had a spectacular dinner at the Eclipse restaurant which is part of the Villa Montana Resort and also in walking distance. We highly recommend this for a special dinner out. Try their Mojitos, they are really good! Larry and Margie were wonderful hosts, helpful and available whenever needed. They added a personal touch to our stay at Casa Bonita. The two bedroom unit was also rented at the time of our stay. It did not take long to get to know our neighbours and enjoy conversations and drinks on the deck. We were lucky that our ages were similar and sharing the outside spaces was easy. This coast line is a very special area of Puerto Rico and we would highly recommend it and Casa Bonita as the place to stay. Maybe not for small children, (as it is not a swimming beach) but for anyone who enjoys surf, sea, snorkeling and all that that this entails - this is the place to be in Puerto Rico.

We stayed for a week between Christmas and New Year's with my parents, and sister and brother in-law. It was amazing. Perfect weather every single day, and a fantastic view to wake up to every morning. We toured beaches in the area, but always got lonesome for "our beach". My sister and brother in-law brought their scuba gear and went several places nearby, including the reef right in front of the house. There are multiple surfing beaches nearby, Jobos is great for swimming, and "our beach" is where all the kite surfing happens. Sitting on the sun deck in the lounge chair and watching the kite surfers was the perfect combination of relaxation and excitement. :) We definitely recommend Larry's home to anybody looking for a great vacation in Puerto Rico!

Casa Bonita is the perfect place for an enjoyable vacation. We met up with our children and their families for a warm winter vacation. The two apartments gave us plenty of space. There was plenty to do and see in the area - but we loved coming back "home" to enjoy the view and the beach at Casa Bonita. The pictures are beautiful, but in real life...it is even more beautiful. The apartments were exactly as described...comfortable, clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative. A special treat during our stay was a massage from Rosie!!! We hope to return again!!

This house has been one of our favorite places we have ever stayed in all of our travels. It is super nice and very family friendly. We feel very safe there with our 2 little girls. Highly recommend this house. It is an extra bonus if you get to meet the owners, they are great. We have found lifetime friends with Larry, Margie and Joey. We will back every year. The Fultons
