Nice place and would stay again

Very good walkable location to downtown shops and restaurants. Accurate description of the unit. Bigger than I expected. We had an issue with the fridge failing. After some aggressive complaining on our part, the manager brought in a new one in a fairly timely manner. I give them a big A for effort on this issue. Overall I would recommend this unit for people who want to be walkable close to most everything in downtown Durango.

This property was in a great location to enjoy Durango! Very easy walkability to shops and great restaurants. The master bedroom was extremely spacious, and the second bedroom was perfect for our daughter to have her own space. The kitchen had all equipment we needed to cook if we didn’t feel like eating out. The property managers were quick to respond via email and text with responses to questions. I would highly recommend staying at this property!

My husband and I brought my parents for their anniversary. The trip was to ride the Durango-Silverton Train. The location of our stay was fantastic, easy walking for my parents. Everything we needed for our stay was in the condo and we loved the decor. We only have two suggestions, WD-40 on all the doors and remove the footboard from the bed in the small bedroom. There is not enough room to go around the bed without banging your shin. We all went home with bruises. Other than that, we will book here on our next trip to Durango.

Steamworks was delicious!The bike rental shop was right next door, along with an ice cream shop. The condo was very spacious; the decor was nice, and the 4 of us were very comfortable. The 2nd bdrm did get hot, but a box fan was brought over right away when we called. The owner was responsive.

Location couldn’t have been more perfect. One bedroom is so small we kept hitting our shins on the wooden footboard. In the master bedroom there’s wood all around the bed. That’s not good either. Only two chairs on the balcony. Perhaps there could be more folding chairs available. It was an awesome place to say.

Perfect location. Steps from Main Street and two bike shops. Updated place with nice amenities (including a Weber gas grill). Great view of mountains.

Great location and property. Only complaint was that is was difficult to open and close windows.

The location can't be beaten. You can walk everywhere in town leaving the car in the garage (which was awesome to have on a snowy winter day!)

Location was great, near the train station and Main Ave. The entry was tricky late at night, as I had to enter a code to get the garage door to open and there was no light to view the keypad in a dark alley. There are 3 different codes to enter as you go from garage, to elevator, and unit door, and that was slightly confusing. The master BR has a bed on a 12" platform, which is dangerous in the dark when unaccustomed. The AC can only be set to 70 degrees or higher.

The Mears House Condo location is ideal! We walked/biked to all downtown area restaurants and shops. While it’s a great location, evenings were a bit loud. There was some equipment noise daily and people partying a couple of evenings.

The condo has a spacious layout and is decorated with nice furnishings. The unit has a small balcony but it lacked curtains or blinds for privacy.

Even though The Mears House Condo is well thought out and comfortable, it was not as clean as I would have expected, especially now with our covid reality. First of all, the condo had a musty smell.

The kitchen I would say was particularly not cleaned thoroughly - counters were dirty and sink was brown from what I guess is coffee residue, coffee maker was just yucky. Fortunately, I was prepared and planned to disinfect everything paying close attention to high touch surfaces. I did end up going to the Albertson's and bought an air freshener and candle and that seems to help a lot with the smell.

Linens did not seem to be so clean and they were different colors - maybe they were just worn out. I did buy some laundry detergent at the Albertson's so I washed the sheets before using for my peace of mind. The dryer was so dirty...full of lint. I also noticed a couple of pillows in the closet without pillow cases and they were just so gross.

All and all...we ended up enjoying our time in Durango and even the Mears House Condo after I cleaned and disinfected thoroughly. I am proud to say that I left the The Mears House Condo exceptionally clean for the next guest.

Lovely property and great location.

Upon entering the condo we detected an odor of pet urine. The condo was FILTY (understatement) The floors were sticky and what looked like mouse dropping everywhere. The kitchen sink was grossly dirty and the caulking around sink was cracked and old. The pots and pans were thrown in the cabinets here and there and were ancient. Teflon, scratched and old. There were NO cooking utensils except a few plastic whisks, that's it! Every knife pulled from the knife block was crusted with dried on food. The kitchen drawers had what looked like mouse droppings in them and there was a MICE TRAP in one of them! There was ONE oven mit caked and crusted with a white substance. The pantry had opened used bags of food left in it. Extremely dirty shelves where we were expected to put our things. Very GROSS. The bathrooms had few towels and no washcloths. The rugs were dirty and used by the previous renters. The "starter kit" of basic items they say they provide was not there. A half used roll of TP, empty soap containers, not one single cleaning products to clean the dirty counters... The sink in the guest bath was clogged and would not drain so we called management and they sent someone while we were out who was obviously male and used the toilet leaving the seat up! gross! The extra blankets were thrown unfolded into the top of the closets. When we pulled out any piece of furniture to plug in a devise behind it we saw mouse droppings and filth. We did call management and someone came with new pots and pans, a few cooking utensils of the cheapest quality. While there she said they have been busier than they have ever been and can't keep up with the turnover. She said the building had a mouse infestation and we just needed to except that happens in a "mountain town" ! She said someone would come the next day to clean..no one did. A girl did show up the following day with a child in tow so we declined her staying. The condo's location is great. The condo is decorated very beautifully. The owner obviously cares a lot about their property and must be unaware of the managements companies very terrible care and upkeep. If you are at all concerned about COVID DO NOT RENT THIS CONDO! As far as the basement parking situation goes... you are instructed to park in any spot labeled "guest" of which there are maybe two?? The parking space labeled 2C for the condo we were renting was located right by the elevator, we used it regardless with no issues.

Awesome condo in a great location walking distance to everything downtown. Plenty of space, very clean, fully stocked with everything needed. Highly recommend.

Great property. Only complaint was the key code situation. Elevator code and entry codes were different for different doors. A bit frustrating.
