Our stay was wonderful. The cottage was everything that was advertised and the property manager couldn’t have been more helpful! We had a wonderful vacation and look forward to coming again!

The property was a secluded cabin in the woods on a beautiful lake. Four kayaks and a canoe along with all the lifejackets you could want. Master room had a beautiful view. The only negatives were that the master bedroom mattress is not the most comfortable and the upstairs bathroom had no shower - only a bathtub. We drove to Acadia quite often and it was an hour drive. Close to a 1/2 hour drive for a grocery store but I would say the seclusion of the lake was probably worth the long drives. Great fishing - sunfish and bass.

We had a lovely, tranquil week staying at Sue's home in Otis. My partner, mother, grandmother and I had more than enough room in this spacious, two-floor house to play cards, cook together, and enjoy views of the lake. It rained most of the week, so we weren't able to take full advantage of the outdoors, but the house came with four kayaks, a canoe, paddles, and plenty of life jackets. Both Sue and the property manager were extremely kind and responsive. We ran into a few small issues during our stay and Sue was so quick to respond with helpful guidance! I do want to note that the house doesn't have potable water, but Sue provided three gallons of spring water, and we had no trouble boiling the tap water for our tea and coffee. Overall this was a lovely stay that I fully recommend if you want a peaceful vacation on a beautiful lake!

This property is outstanding. We had a wonderful time canoeing on the gorgeous pond and sitting on the decks. The wood stove was great to have on chilly mornings. The hosts have thought of everything. It’s so peaceful and private. We cannot wait to return next year!!!

Wonderful view and great access to Otis Pond

We pulled up to the rental and just looking at it we knew it was exactly what we were looking for, a quiet property surrpunded and shaded by the trees. We walked in and everything was very clean and organized and it's fully loaded. The kitchen has everything you'll need for it your stay, and there's even a nice clean BBQ out on the patio for grilling! More than enough room for my girlfriend and I and my parents to hang out between the living room, kitchen, loft, patio and even a nice patio down by its own private dock where we were swimming, fishing and canoeing (kayaks and a big double canoe were there for our use) and the water was very clear and clean. The general store was only 6 minutes down the road and they had most essentials but other than that we didn't mind driving 20-25 minutes into ellsworth where they have grocery stores and other shopping! Long story short we will try to make it a yearly trip and get the same rental as everyone fell in love with the house an and very private quiet property!

Our family of 3 had plenty of space. The kayaks and canoes were in great shape. The house has everything and anything you could need from outdoor enjoyment, board games, cooking needs, reading to sightseeing information. We used the Acadia map and hiking book multiple times to plan our days in the park. The pond was very peaceful during the week. My husband caught several small mouth bass. It was a great week!

Our family had another wonderful vacation at the "Golden Pond" Beech Hill Pond Lake house! The house and all it's amenities are superb! We loved staying here in 2021, and now 2022 and we can't wait to book our stay for 2023!

We really could have spent a full week just relaxing at this house. It has some of the prettiest grounds in the area. The pond and boat accomodation was great. Very fun to kayak in pond. It is a 45 minute drive to Bar Harbor. We knew that going into it. We did spend several days just at the house. Driving to Acadia to me got a little tiring. We had a water pressure issue and someone came out to fix it within an hour. Very prompt and speedy! The only thing we truly missed was a dishwasher. And, one of the bathrooms only has a tub. But, I would highly recommend this place and think in the summer on that lake would be a really gun time! We may be back.

Hearing the loons the first evening was special. The house was clean, well stocked, and nicely appointed. The drive to Acadia National Park was about an hour … which we did nearly every day; that was pretty doable. A great location and a very nice place to call home for a week. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Our stay at this beautiful lake home in Otis Maine was perfect! The house was beautiful and had everything we needed for a wonderful week in Maine. It was so relaxing to just sit by the lake and unwind with nature! We look forward to returning.

The best feature was the view from the large windows in the living room and upstairs bedroom. House was well stocked. Window sills & ceiling bathroom lights were not cleaned. Lake access was difficult for seniors to launch kayaks.

Perfect location within striking distance of Acadia, but lots to do on-property as well. Boating, swimming, fishing, exploring, blueberry picking, and plenty of games, puzzles, and books (and space) to keep everyone happy on rainy days. Fairly remote, but close to Otis general store. Lots of maps, guidebooks, etc available for planning excursions. Very well equipped! It was a perfect getaway for our family.

We absolutely loved our time at Beech Hill Pond at this home - awesome swimming and paddling right from the dock, our kids had a blast exploring around the whole area. The house was perfect, and loved how secluded it was. We hope to be back next year!

This VRBO rental exceeded our expectations! The camp sits on a beautiful spot close to the head of the pond. The property’s cove has a great dock for tying up your boat, fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc. There’s a public boat dock across the pond if you need to put in a boat. The kayaks and canoe were in excellent condition as well as the life jackets (which there were plenty of!). The kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed! Beautiful deck complete with fresh herbs growing that we were encouraged to use. The hammock overlooks the pond and you can see beautiful sunsets from the huge rocks on the property. We really enjoyed the privacy this camp had to offer!!!

Peaceful, Tranquility and an absolute gem! Wonderful location and absolute private family retreat. Exactly what we were looking for and exactly what we needed. This house/cabin on the lake was the perfect size and fit for our family vacation. It had all the comforts of home and a beautiful view/access to the water front. We visited in early October as the trees were turning colors and the temps began to drop. Note there are no heat registers in the upstairs loft, but a small wood burning stove on the main level kept the rooms upstairs very comfortable and cozy. Wood was provided and easy to access. Also we did not realize that speed limits in Maine are so low. So while we were only 30ish miles from main areas it often took 50mins or more to get places. Not bad, just plan timing accordingly. Our family would highly recommend this rental and would love to visit again in the future.

We enjoyed our week on the property. Very private location with a nice trail down to the water. It was perfect for our 3 yr and 5 yr old. The dog loved it too!
