I had some very disruptive guests next to me who keep me awake all night so didn’t get the rest I needed - this spoiled my stay

Staff is very attentive, room is huge, the view from our room was superb (view to the lake, thanks for that). Bathroom floor heating works well (hurrah !!).. For the first time in a long time in New Zealand I ordered a glass of wine and they brought the bottle and served me !!

Lots of doors to open to get to the room. Shower could be better. Vegan options are few in breakfast and dinner. Prices are very high for the room, food and drink.

We have been here a few times and it was great. Nice rooms, great pool, lovely breakfast. Went to a wedding which was fabulous. A lovely outdoor spot to get married.

The staff weren’t as good as they used to be and some of it is starting to look a little tired. Dinner at the restaurant was a debacle, however they did take it off the tab and apologised. Not what you would expect from a Hilton. For the money they charge we expected better.

Nice comfortable beds and spacious rooms .

Hard to understand what some of the staff were saying due to there heavy accents.My friend had an issue with the plug in there bathroom and despite being told that someone would check it out in 15 minutes that never happened. I wasn't told at check in that there was a secure carpark you had to pay for and it was raining when we arrived and though I used the park I got rather wet in the process of sorting it out. There were no porters to help with the luggage and I was also charged $450 bond for some reason. On checkout this was remedied and the man at desk was rather surprised himself that this had happened. The front of desk staff seemed rather overwhelmed .My friend rang front desk for 20 minutes and no-one answered. Ive stayed in Hiltons around the world and the Taupo Hilton was not up international standards.

Having to go through multiple fire doors to get to room is unusual.

Room was lovely travelled with a disabled person so needed a mobility friendly room was good apart from no seat in the shower so she couldn't shower but the toilet rail etc was perfect.

the restaurant food this time wasn't as good as previous visit and the cocktail was mainly ice so that was very disappointing, however the waitress was amazing and a asset to the Hilton.

Excellent comfortable bed. Lots of features and facilities. Our second time at this accommodation and rate the breakfast as the best I've experienced in NZ. Great views and quiet location. Our stopover now on long trips north.

No room service or if there was there was no information about it in the room. We had a ground floor King Plus room which we thought it would be great as it came with a private patio however this was a disappointment. The outdoor chairs and table looked old and uncared for - if they were meant to look this way then they didn't match the rest of the Hilton. Sitting in the patio area was unpleasant due to the road noise. The only way to lessen the noise, especially during the day and early evening, was to go inside and close the door. The chairs inside were uncomfortable dining type chairs and not the sort you can relax in at the end of the day. The property was quite a way from the lake.

Amazing Hotel, don’t stay anywhere else! What we loved most was the staff: great attitude of everyone especially the host at the bar and breakfast. Fantastic chat and lovely team. Of course the highlight of this place is the hot swimming pool and hot tub which are open until 10pm, so even after a long day and swim in the cold lake taupo, great chance to warm up. Highly recommend!!!

The most incredible facilities, wonderful staff, very peaceful and perfect location. They provided lovely champagne and a note upon arrival, as I was celebrating my 21st birthday which was so sweet.

The pool bar service ended very early, we would have loved a couple of drinks before dinner but it closes way before the sun comes down, and the drinks were amazing so we wanted more! Also our room was quite difficult to get to, excessive amount of doors to navigate to get there which was a bit odd. But neither of these things ruined our amazing experience, would have just made it 100% perfect

We absolutely loved our stay .Surely made up for the slight let down from our last Hilton stay ( Auckland).The facilities were well maintained and staff were courteous and super helpful. We would definitely visit again .

Facilities are nice and rooms well appointed, staff try hard.

Rooms are ready for an update, the property was undergoing maintenance which we were not aware of so noisy. Restaurant is average.

I nearly ripped out the stove top with my bare hands! Couldn't see the dials properly and very tricky to work. I had to get help and even the helper was a bit perplexed.

Everything! The view was truly world class. Absolutely spectacular sights of the lake and mountains. The sauna, steam, gym, spa and pool were amazing and so clean and well kept. Abundance of towels and little touches in the gym. I’m so impressed.

Only that I had to leave!

In advance of arrival we received a message from Hilton asking us if we wanted to upgrade to a junior suite which we said we did want to do. When we arrived we were told there were no suite upgrades available - I find the concept of offering an upgrade and then not being able to deliver it somewhat disappointing. Room we were originally allocated was in a section of the hotel being refurbished (see below) however the staff responded well to our complaints and moved us to a new room for our second night. Swimming pool area was excellent.

Being allocated a room that was having noisy work being done on our balcony and with no view due to scaffolding was a mistake by the hotel. We couldnt use the balcony at all and it was obvious that they shouldnt have been using these rooms'.. Therefore our first impression was very poor.

Reception service and facilities were good.

Room for improvement with dinner and breakfast service. Price of breakfast was a bit steep for the quality.

it is a lovely place to stay, I'll certainly be back (in fact am already booked for next month!)

The gym and heated pool, jacuzzi and saunas were very nice. The staff was friendly.

The ambience felt a bit outdated, even though I think our room was one that had been recently renovated. Our room which should have had a nice view was covered in plastic due to outer renovations (we were not informed), so workmen would be working from 7am (when we were trying to recover from major jet lag). We couldn’t be bothered to change rooms, because our overall experience was that things happened on their own ‘accord’.

Excellent very spacious room. Facilities were good particulary the heated outdoor pool. Restaurant was also good. We enjoyed both breakfast and lunch.
