Cozy and well stocked, beautiful location

Clean, cosy and well equipped home away from home. Lovely host as well.

We definitely love the house. It had everything we needed, all the rooms were very comfortable, the living room with tv and lots of games, the full kitchen to make our meals, the bathroom very clean, the whole leisure area outside was beautiful, everything was very organized. The house is easy to find, very cozy and warm for cold days. It was wonderful to be in this place, we had unique moments. The host was very kind and nice, we had a late check-in and late checkout, everything was great. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much Kahu!

Very clean and tidy with everything you need, including spices, kitchen equipment, hair dryer, iron, firewood, etc

The lovely country feel close to town. The little touches from Kahu such as turning on the heatpumps before we arrived, the great selection of teas and the milk in the fridge. Everything was very clean and organised yet homely. Kahu welcomed us upon arrival. A wonderful stay - thank you!

I can't find fault at all.

A lovely cottage where the owner went out of her way to make it comfortable, warm and inviting. It was definitely a home away from home. The cottage was spacious with a kitchen, bathroom and 3 bedrooms which was perfect for our family of 5. We arrived in the evening to a warm cottage and the fire set up ready to be lit. Beds were comfortable and warm. It was total bliss!

The stay at The Homestead was wonderful. From the very first message, Kahu proved to be a wonderful host, the apartment was outstanding - one of the best we have ever stayed in - and we regret not being able to stay longer.

Kahu was a lovely host who had a lovely property. She added lots of lovely touches which helped make our stay special.

The homestead had a lovely cottage feel and was surrounded by a beautiful garden. Kahu is a superior host, paying attention to the little things that make a stay feel exceptional.

The homestead exuded a relaxing feel although the sofa's did not lend to comfortable lounging. The bed was also too hard for me but this is obviously a personal preference as there were no comments made by anyone else.

All needs and wants anticipated in this home away from home stay. The garden an absolute treat to wonder around with your early coffee. Open invite to pick lettuce and herbs at your door was so welcoming.

Not a thing.

This was a three bedroom property on a private homestead. Gardens were lovely and grounds were well maintained with well established trees. Allowed privacy for us yet we knew the host was just next door if we needed anything. Kahu was charming and there to meet and farewell us and in touch to make sure we were comfortable. From the fairylights on the verandah to the throws on the chairs and the games and jigsaws under the tv cabinet, the eye for detail was superb. Heads up, this is not in the centre of town so you do need to have transport but the local cafes, potteries and shops are all excellent. Happy to stay out of town next time for the peace and quiet, the space to relax and the sense of being in the country. Highly recommend it especially if you like to escape the bustle of Taupo at the end of your adventures.

There is a large step up to the two Queen bedrooms which can be a bit tricky. The kitchen, twin bedroom and lounge dining are all accessible though the shower does also require a step up. Aside from that - nothing we didn't enjoy really.

Attractively decorated and thoughtfully provisioned, and the garden was glorious!
