Die Lage ist super zentral und ermöglicht kurze Wege zu allen sehenswerten Orten in Cardiff. Die Zimmer waren auf einem aktuellen Stand und die Betten einigermaßen bequem. Die Ausstattung war ebenfalls absolut in Ordnung.

Zentrale Lage bedeutet natürlich auch immer keine absolute Ruhe. Wir hatten Zimmer in der obersten Etage und haben kaum etwas vom Lärm der Straßen und umliegenden Bars mitbekommen. Das wird sicher in den unteren Etagen nicht so sein. Vom NCP Parkhaus im Westgate würden wir als Familie dringend abraten. Dreck, dunkle Ecken, Gestank und zwielichtige Personen. Mein Auto wollte ich hier (trotz Rabatt vom Hotel) nicht abstellen. John Lewis Car Park ist zwar teurer aber helle und saubere Parkplätze geben mir für meine Familie und mein Auto ein sicheres Gefühl. Und ein sehr kurzer Weg zum Hotel. Ich würde dem Royal Cardiff Hotel dringend empfehlen, einen Preisdeal mit diesem Parkhaus zu verhandeln. Das würde das Hotel auch gleich nochmal aufwerten. Wirklich enttäuscht waren wir nur vom Frühstück. Für 14£ pro Person ist das definitiv zu wenig. Zu wenig Auswahl und dann nicht mal einen Cappuccino. Für den Toast muss man ewig lange warten, das können andere Hotels deutlich besser (Siehe Motel One). Hier empfehlen wir aufgrund der zentralen Lage eine der unendlich vielen Frühstücksoptionen zu nutzen. Das ist besser und vielleicht sogar günstiger.

Location was exactly what we wanted.

Unfortunately, because of the age of the building, the window was very small and didn't let much light into the room so very dark and a Little closed in. Bathroom floor and paintwork seem to need a deep clean.

I tought by the name it would be more luxurious but it was ok. Bathroom a bit tired with the silicone falling out round the shower.

The location was perfect! We went to a concert at the Castle and it was just a short stroll away with lovely pubs along the way. The room was very clean, the bed was massive and the staff were friendly.

The windows couldn't be opened, and the air-con was limited to 19° and very noisy. Menopausal women will understand!

Location was super, right on the busy pedestrian only area of the street. Bed was very comfortable and the room was big.

The lift from the ground to 2nd floor reception is not at the front of the hotel, so you have to walk all the way around to the back. That was not noted in the listing so we humped our bags up two flights before checking in.

Friendly welcoming staff, nice guest areas, bar, lounge etc. Large triple bedroom, sofa area. A good sized bathroom. General decor throughout was very stylish

Our bedroom had quite small windows, so it was a bit dreary without a light on.

Location was excellent - being in city center made it easy for us to explore the city on foot

Lovey clean hotel right I the middle of Cardiff. Lovely welcome fro the staff at reception. Spacious clean room with three single beds which suited our needs perfectly.

On a busy street so a bit noisy but we were on third floor so managed to sleep not too bad.Breakfast was too pricey so we decided against it .

we were in Cardiff for a concert we knew there'd be a premium on prices because of this but the room we had didn't justify the exorbitant price we paid, it was small very dated furniture, bed was very creaky and uncomfortable, the windows were too high to look out and were filthy on the outside. Also the huge hike in Price over the usual price didn't even include breakfast which would have added £30 a night to our bill

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. The location in the City Centre is perfect for what we needed and if it wasn't for all the negatives we would have used it again.

They openly advertise that if you don't book direct you get get the rubbish rooms and that's exactly what we got. The room was tiny, had glitter all over the floor, the floors were sticky, there was dust everywhere, mould growing in the bathroom and the smallest of windows with curtains that did nothing to keep the morning light out. I've stayed in a fair number of hotels in Cardiff and this is easily the worst. It's not a 4 star at all and absolutely not worth the money we paid.

great location very central, near all types of places to eat. Staff friendly and very helpful.

Pity no bar snacks available, didn't see any but did not ask either !! There is quite a few steps, but lift available.

Only minor inconveniences were lack of counter/table space and weird pillows. And outlets in inconvenient places. Just oddly not ergonomic. Window opens weird. Very minor, however, still loved the place.

Posizione centrale e staff cortese. Ottima la temperatura della camera, regolabile autonomamente. Letto spazioso e comodo, con scelta dei cuscini. Bollitore in camera. Buona e varia la colazione a pagamento.

Le camere sono datate e non insonorizzate. In bagno manca il supporto per l'asciugamano. Il bagno è privo di finestre e la ventola di areazione non funzionava. Il phon era installato in camera, all'interno dell' armadio e non si poteva spostare. La camera aveva solo una piccolissima finestra con la vista coperta. Hotel adeguato per qualche notte nella città ma non vale il prezzo pagato.

Hotel was great but very disappointed with the car park at to walk 250m each way to transfer various items to hotel.
