I liked the process of check-in, with a code, without a personal contact and the commnication with the owner by e-mails was OK. The location is really in the heart of the forest so there are lots of trails around. Still I think you can walk most of them in three days. I loved the sound of birds in the morning! I think we were lucky with the weather as there were 3 out of 7 days with sun. But even with clouds it was nice to chill out after the hot day at the seaside. Most time the temperature was between 15 and 20 degrees. The house is of an interesting shape, with an inner yard protecting you from the wind. The two bathroom are convenient. There is a lot of space in the house. There is an electring juice squeezer. We liked to sit by the firepalce in the evening. The WiFi connection is very good indeed. There are lots of books and leaflets on La Gomera in the house. The heating was working properly however it used to turn on making some noise at night.

You are asked to pay the whole sum right after booking into a direct account of the owner. You must be aware of the location - very deep in the forest, after driving the very narrow road and a VERY STEEP driveway up to the house so if you do not feel very comfortable with driving a car, you shouldn't book this house. Although it is in the middle of the forest, be aware there is a camp above the house and it can be noisy sometimes because of a presence of many children. Unfortunatelly the fruit was unripe and couldn't enjoy it. There isn't an oven in the house and only two burners in the kitchen. There are not enough glasses. The "welcoming package" is only a little bit of salt and pepper, some oil and a few bags of tea. In most places where we have travelled around the Canarian Islands it also included fruit, a bottle of water and wine, sometimes even bread, cheese, ham, espacially if the location was very isolated and this is the case. So in fact we didn't felt very welcome... It was said there are three bedrooms in the house but one door to one of the bedrooms was constantly locked. The double bed was creaky and uncomfortable. The quilts were very thick and blankets smelly so we could not use them instead of the quilts. Be aware that there is a camera facing the house which we weren't informed of and so we didn't feel at ease, rather observed at all times.... The bathroom ceiling was partially covered in mold. I wish there was something more for children.

The house is located on a unique location. It was fully equipped, had everything we need. It was also very clean. The fireplace is a real bonus. The communication and information beforehand were very detailed. Although we never met Antonio in real life, he made us feel very welcome.

Because of the unique location, don't expect a very lively town: the restaurants (except one) and cafe's are all quite a ride away. Which actually is part of the charm of the house. But you need your own car, and buy groceries (and gasoline!) beforehand. The only restaurant (which is more like a canteen) is closed at 19h. It would be convenient if the house is equipped with some basics, like oil, salt and pepper for cooking. But, after all, it was a great stay.
