great breakfast, the best so far during our tour around Ireland. they also had a wonderful recommendation for dinner. it was an excellent choice.

the renovations currently going on. the mirrors weren’t hung, wires for a light in the bathroom on the wall were exposed. there was an electrical problem, so no hot water.

Jim & Assumpta are fabulous hosts - a fabulous welcome for us. Breakfast is a whole vibe on its own - that glenfarne fry is still haunting me - I could eat it everyday, and the home made soda bread is like a drug...sooo good. Mchughs pub across the road is a little gem too and so handy for end of day nightcap. All in all, Clancy's is a little oasis...

I took my wife to MacNean house for her 40th birthday and this spot was absolutely perfect for us to stay in. Jim even organised the drop off and pick up for us, so we had nothing to worry about. I somehow managed to forget to bring a shirt with me and Jim even sorted that for me, in less than 2 minutes... legend 😀 A solid breakfast the following morning helped set us up for the trip back to Dublin. Can't forget to mention Ben across the road in McHugh's pub, true gentleman.

The staff were friendly and unassuming, they were very happy to help but, not overbearing as can be the case in some B&B's. The food was absolutely amazing. My husband is vegetarian and usually the only option on the menu is a veggie stir fry (No matter where we go in Ireland it's always the same) the restaurant had an amazing veggie burger fully dressed with homemade chips. It was delicious as was the menu for the children. There was a mix up with Booking.com with regards to our actual party number but, this was rectified before we arrived and we were shown alternative rooms to suit our needs. The biggest bonus staying here was that we could have our dogs sleep in the room with us. The dogs are well used to traveling with us and part of our family but, generally speaking in Ireland it is very difficult to find somewhere that will accommodate dogs. The location was also excellent, there are fantastic walks very close to the accommodation with Glenfarne forest walk entrance within walking distance of the guesthouse itself so no need to drive. Bundoran and Sligo are all within 40 mins of the guesthouse and Belleek also a short drive. The country side scenery is a so beautiful just for an afternoon drive. Overall, I would say that Glenfarne Guesthouse is a perfect spot for anyone wanting to explore the North West. It is homely, warm, convenient and the food is excellent. We will definitely be back!
