Very central to the town of Alnwick, and only 5 mins walk to the Castle and Garden. Large, comfortable beds. Clean and tidy interior. Easy to collect and drop off keys to hotel reception. Easy parking in the hotel car park.

Cleary a very old building, but the interior needs a significant modernisation e.g. a fully fitted kitchen. The plumbing is obviously old and very noisy - the downstairs bathroom is an advantage in this regard, but otherwise not very convenient. At least half of the windows did not shut properly - this is a security risk, and I cannot see the property would be other than very cold in winter. The bedrooms are spacious, but the property overall would be small for 6 adults. The outside is, frankly, a disgrace. It is bizarre that there is a large and quality-looking but non-functioning hot tub outside the back door, but this is surrounded by weeds and a lawn that needs mowing. It would be possible to spruce up the outside space very nicely for a lot less than the cost of a hot tub. If the owners are reading this - given the location, with a decent upgrading, and maybe the conversion of the nook off one of the bedrooms into an en suite, you might double the price of this!

Location, size of property and garden/patio

No bathroom/toilet upstairs, property needs some TLC, wallpaper coming off wall, a bit run down

Beautiful little cottage in a perfect location of the town and for exploring surrounding areas

Only thing i would suggest would be that the garden be maintained better as loads of weeds everywhere especially on patio area and a hot tub was there but sadly we could not use it

Quaint cottage, excellent location, spotlessly clean. Superb welcome hamper, comfortable beds.

Great location whilst we had a family wedding in the area. Plenty of space within the property and some good outside private garden aswell. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t working however the hotel told us this prior to arrival which was fine. House had everything you could possibly need for the short stay including a nice welcome package with essential bits.

Very little, maybe your own private car space for your items as it’s self catering you tend to bring a bit more stuff. There is limited parking so wasn’t a major issue for us.

A great location in the middle of Alnwick and near to Alnwick Castle and gardens.

The cottage needs a significant modernisation program with the kitchen and bathroom especially. Also no toaster, microwave nor music player provided.

-Great location at the heart of Alnwick but as set back along a little lane was still quiet -Good WiFi -Very spacious and well equipped kitchen

-security for the property was appalling and likely to void travel insurance in event of a break in. Issue with locks on both doors. Repeatedly reported but not addressed. -issues with old plumbing and pipes make a racket which woke us repealed every night of our stay -garden in need of attention as very overgrown -all rooms in house in need of decor upgrade eg carpets currently stained, marks and chips on walls, kitchen blind continually falling down, handles on wardrobe falling off, doors not closing properly, the list was endless!
