Zarela is such a warming and friendly person. She immediately rebooked our reservation for one night as we could not arrive us planned due to a closed airport in Lima and welcomed us with breakfast the morning of our arrival. She has a lot of travelling recommendations for the lagoon hikes and how to get there. She also informed us immediately before traveling back to Lima about a road strike and helped us to make some phone calls to get out of Huaraz. The room was quiet and warm enough as well as the shower. The Thai food for dinner is amazing.

Zarela was the best host. She helped us long before our stay to organize our individuel Huayhuash Trek. When we finally came there we found a beautiful house with nice people and a great Thai Restaurant. We would have loved to stay longer. Next visit Cordillera Blanca!

The rooms are clean and comfortable and well located, however the best thing about this hostel is the warm and friendly welcome from Zarela who was able to assist with information on treks in the area, store luggage whilst on over night treks, provide a packed breakfast when heading out early & helped with transport bookings too! Also the Thai food served for dinner in the restaurant is superb.

Stayed twice, once before and then again after our hike. Breakfast was nice, an omlette cooked to order with bread, jam, fresh orange juice and the choice of coffee or tea. Zerala herself is wonderful, an absolutely delightful and well travelled woman. She's able to give recommendations around town, speaks excellent English and just lovely to chat with in general. My wife and I would gladly have her over for tea if she's ever in the UK. The facilities include a guest kitchen and a water filter (which can be a bit slow) but much more preferable than buying plastic bottles of drinkable water.

Quiet location and everyone was incredibly helpful - leaving out breakfast for me when I had to leave very early, looking after luggage whilst I went on a multi day hike and then even took me to the bus station when there were no taxis available. Very knowledgeable about the area too

The location is a little bit out of the centre - but the centre is very noisy. I much preferred the quiet here

La Casa de Zarela is a very specially designed place. Very stylish with many places and several terasses to sit. It's very much a hikers- and mounteneers place, both to start as well as to relax after strenghtuous days in the mountains. Zarela is a great lady. Very informative on hikes and places to go to in Huaraz, and really helpfull to organize matters. She speaks really good English. Breakfast is very nice in a comfortable dining room.

Zarela is a great host that made sure that I have a memorable stay. She catered for everything and was really helpful giving advices for treks to do around Huaraz but also for recommending good adresses in the area. Highly recommended

La Casa de Zarela was a wonderful retreat during our stay in Huaraz. Zarela is so hospitable, made a delicious breakfast, and gave great tips for hikes to do and food to eat in the area. The lodging itself is comfortable, clean, and absolutely gorgeous, with hummingbirds that come to visit the garden and nice views of the mountains.

Everything - I couldn't fault my stay at La Casa de Zarela. The location is very safe and close to the main square. The rooms were clean and spacious with great hot showers. Breakfast was superb and the Thai food in the evening was devine! Zarela went above and beyond to help me organise activities, linking up guests and also was so kind and helpful when I was sick. It could only be described as a home away from home and I look forward to visiting again some day!
