The rooms were clean. Towels and soap provided. The village of Chacala is good for a beach day and lunch. Nothing happens after 6pm.

There were so many restrictions. Mandatory masks in shared areas ( entrance)- I think the owners were probably terrified of Covid . Notices everywhere don’t do this, don’t do that, M$500 deposit against marks on the sheets/ towels. Inspection of room/ sheet/towels before leaving. It was not an inviting or relaxing environment. No breakfast. The village closed down at 6pm, so don’t expect yo eat out.

Very clean, beautiful room.

this is a cute no frills hotel. it is very clean and feels extremely safe as the owners live on site. we came to chácala for a quick surf trip for a night. it was perfect for my kids

the Pool is not heated

Breakfast was across from the hotel ... and was excellent. Lots of choices, great service! Hotel owners were very accommodating and friendly. Bed was comfortable. Very quiet!

We liked everything.

The staff speak very little English,so 1 of the front desk ladies has a tablet that converts Spanish to English... makes communication very easy. Loved the safety and quiet of the location. Incredibly clean!!I mean. Clean!! The bed we had was king. Very comfy with 4 pillows. Nice bedding. AirConditioner is excellent...very quiet with remote control ... just reminder there is a night mode for the led light on the front. Big shower in bathroom... with gorgeous white fluffy towels. They include 2 blue towels for the beach or at their pool. We had a sea view from our big window. At the top of the stairs.. a sunny deck with table chairs and umbrella and gorgeous views of jungle and the 2 bays. Right across the street. Mauna Kea cafe !Gorgeous views on their outdoor patio and fabulous breakfasts that include fresh serve yourself fruits.

Honestly ,Mar y Selva is really an amazing small hotel. The only lil thing... WiFi is intermittent But I’m NOT here to be on my phone.

Great, quiet location overlooking the jungle and the ocean. We saw whales from our room! Very clean and spacious. The pool and roof top terrace are a nice touch. The owners are kind, thoughtful and happy to help if you need anything. The Mauna Kea Cafe is steps away with a great breakfast. The beach, shops and other restaurants are a short 10 minute walk.

The water pressure in the shower was a little low as mentioned by other reviewers but it was hardly an inconvenience.
