The day before we arrived, I received a text from the owner Olivier with details of the property and asked if we would like dinner. I text Olivier, ten minutes before arrival, as requested and he sent a video of the road to take. He was there on arrival and asked if we would like to use the pool for an hour. We had this to ourselves and it was lovely after a long, hot journey. The room was gorgeous, the bed was extremely comfortable and it was spotless. There was a tassimo machine and kettle in the room. Me and my husband were the only ones for dinner and Olivier and his son had made homemade burgers and the best chips I've ever tasted. Breakfast was a lovely spread with fresh bread, croissants and pain au choc on each table. There is also a sauna onsite and you can book a massage too. An excellent place to chill. The town of Loan is close and there is lots to explore locally.

The owner was extremely helpful, room comfortable.

The entrance is down a rough path at the side of the big chateau restaurant with a sign that is only visible from the road in one direction. It is easy to miss.

L'emplacement pour le petit-déjeuner était bien équipé et sympatique. La table est mise, il faut juste se servir. Le petit déjeuner est assez complet, il manquait peut-être des oeufs. L'hôte vient nous voir et discute avec nous et recueille nos commentaires.

Everything - the warmth and generosity of Olivier's welcome when we arrived, on-site parking, the use of the pool, the facilities in our room (including air-conditioning), the peace of the location, the ease for dog walks in the adjacent woodland, the closeness and quality of the (separate) restaurant next-door, the superb breakfast, easy access to/from A26. If we could give 11/10, we would.

Nothing - everything was perfect.

The property was set in a peaceful, quiet and very attractive rural location. The amazing historic small town of Laon was a ten minute drive away with relatively easy free parking. The host Olivier was incredibly helpful, thoughtful and kind and has created a little oasis of peace and tranquility. There is an indoor pool and plenty of places to sit and relax in the grounds of the property. Our stay was just one night as we travelled through Europe back to the Channel Tunnel. It was a perfect stop off and I would not hesitate to stay again.

There is a restaurant within 200 metres which was quite pricey, so for most people, a drive would be required for an evening meal. A very small price to pay for the peace and quiet of the location.

Olivier was a wonderful host, just right. Leaving us to get on with things, but attentive to all our needs.
