Beautiful cottage; very well equipped; comfortable; friendly hosts

Not keen on fixed head showers!

The location was perfect. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful with suggestions of places to visit in the locality.

The house is spacious, with a fairly large with a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with two comfortable sofas and a good sized main bedroom as well as a second bedroom. The house seems to have been modernised quite recently and everything done to a high standard. There is a very effective shower in the ensuite as well as bath in the main bathroom. The location is peaceful with no traffic noise as the property is on a quiet lane. It is located about a mile and a half from the centre of Holmfirth, a prosperous small town with a surprising number of good restaurants and shops. The hosts, Julie and Mark, were welcoming and friendly, providing us with a number of useful ideas for local walks, local restaurants and trips further afield. We found this to be a great centre for exploring the western side of West Yorkshire, as it is close to the Yorkshire sculpture park and beautiful moorland walks amongst forested reservoirs.

What could be improved on is: The mattress on the bottom bunk was too thin Had to double it up with the top bunk and Would be useful to have manuals for use of tv, oven etc, even though the hosts would have helped.

Very nice property, excellent value for money, great security, very nice touch with the welcome hamper, property was spotlessly clean.
