This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic and the Samana region. Las Terrenas was as advertised. It has a rustic charm that won our hearts. Beautiful beaches, friendly people, very affordable. Very few English speaking people among the population, so brush up on your Spanish! As the DR is a developing nation, you do need to be comfortable navigating roads and an environment that can be rough around the edges. We always felt safe, and the resort community has a solid security presence. The Samana province does not suffer from the same crime as other parts of the country (Santo Domingo) but you do need to practice common sense. The house itself was fantastic. Our chef and housekeeper, Maria, made our stay very enjoyable. We enjoyed her homestyle cooking all week. Again, brush up on your Spanish. Translation became a challenge at times, but we managed. The owners were also a tremendous help in preparing for our trip, and even communicating with us while onsite if/when we had questions. We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Las Terrenas!

Pictures don’t do this property justice and we can’t wait to go back. Maria was incredible and patient with us as we attempted to speak Spanish to navigate menu selections. She spoiled us and prepared some of the best chicken we’ve ever tasted. This property is stunning and the host is extremely responsive and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend some quality family time.

The property was as advertised. The outdoor space was great to have morning coffee and breakfast everyday. Maria was amazing with her fresh squeezed juices in the morning and wonderful Dominican dishes for evening dinners. We enjoyed the location of the Townhouse so close to the ocean with some views. The owners were very responsive and helpful. The noise from the street sometimes did get a little loud but all in all a great stay in a beautiful location.

This was our second stay at this property. We would book again in the future. Great location, the house has a beautiful layout, and help with breakfast and lunch.

My family and I stayed for five days at this beautiful home and had a wonderful time. The house was well equipped with staple pantry needs and utensils. Very grateful for Maria, who was there every day commanding the kitchen, cleaning, and doing laundry. The location felt safe and the people were very welcoming. The only downside was that there is a road between the beach and properties in this area. The weekend we stayed at was a long holiday weekend which made it quite busy with motorcycles and cars. I assume, it is not always the case, but good for people to know. Humberto was very attentive to all of our needs and would highly recommend this spot.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in the villa! Ivonne, the owner, was very kind, supportive and always took the time to answer immediately to all questions we would ask, offer great advice and ideas, and overall did her best to make our stay pleasant and memorable! Maria was an amazing cook, and a wonderful person, and offered us a beautiful glimpse into local cuisine and life. Las Terrenas is definitely a beautiful area to spend some quality time with family and friends, and the Villa was exactly as shown on the pictures: clean, comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated.

The house is in excellent location, really close to the beach, the interior is lovely, everything well though and in best condition! Maria helped with the cooking and house chores in general, I would love to return and stay in this nice place!

We stayed at this property for Easter week. We were 2 families with three girls 6 and under. It was the perfect place in the most amazing beach! The house is stunning and offers all the comforts you may need, including maid service. The property has 3 large pools you can visit, but the plunge pool at the house is very comfortable and we preferred it. The comforts at the beach are superb! There's chaises, beds, and a gorgeous restaurant. The weather was perfect, never too hot. Ivonne, the owner, was very helpful and friendly during our communication throughout the rental process. We'll certainly consider returning to Las Terrenas town house 3.

Beautiful spot!

We had a fantastic time. Maria is a wonderful cook and took care of all of our needs for the week. She took us to the local fish market and grilled us lobsters and a whole fish. Her chicken was our favorite meal! We spent most of our time in the outdoors space. We ate all our meals outside. But the large TV with Netflix access in the living-room got used too, we still enjoyed watching American TV at night! The resort had several pools. A nice clean beach was right across the street with easy access. We saw several beautiful sunsets at Mosquito Bar. We had an awesome time with some fellow Americans, watching the Patriots play off game at One Love bar in town. We rented scooters and a quad to get around. We went to El Limon and took a horse back ride to swim in a waterfall. This was our college aged kids favorite activity. Overall it was a great trip. It was fun for all ages. We would love to be able to go back again!!!

The best place I have been in years. It is a beautiful, fine decorated home. Perfect for family trips. Located in the best spot just across the beach where an Italian restaurant with lot of choices is always waiting for you for Brunch, Lunch or Dinner. Wide wine menu. Town is just 5 minutes away with a large number of restaurants of European style with fantastics beach views and romantic environments. The supermarket has a complete list of fruit choices and large list of alternatives for meat and fiches. There is a fishermen market where a wide variety of fresh sea food is waiting for you also. They also offer delivery service in case you need it. Tranquile environment. I am already planning to come back next year with all my family.

I can't speak highly enough of this beautiful spot in paradise. The Villa is spotless and the photos don't actually do it justice. We have travelled fairly extensively and the beach just outside the rear patio is one of the best you'll find anywhere in the world. The owners were super responsive and quick to handle any issue you may encounter and everyone in our party agreed that Maria(Housekeeper) was the best part of the whole trip. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time; a trip my wife and kids and I will never forget. We absolutely loved the house. Very comfortable and really perfect in every way. Especially the outdoor area. Very relaxing. Great location as you’re just a very short walk to a great beach, and a short drive to other beaches if you want a change of pace. Very close to Las Terrenas and it’s restaurants. Our family of five had a great vacation and definitely recommend this house to others. Ivonne was very helpful with advice on activities. Maria the housekeeper is excellent as well, making delicious breakfasts and lunches. We had a great time!

What an amazing experience!! We arrived in Las Terranas and we were treated by the amazing Maria - a full time cook/housekeeper at the house. We loved all of the individual touches, the architecture and the ambience at the rental. Situated at the edge of the ocean you can almost feel the warm warm lapping at your feet while you relax in the amazing outdoor living room. The house has every luxury while still respecting the natural environment - it’s the perfect combination!

We loved our stay. The house is beautiful and the owner Humberto was extremely helpful. Its a beautiful location on Las Terranas, a small village on the ocean with lots of restaurants and shops, beautiful beaches. Maria is you made and very nice. I highly recommend this property.

Our family of five stayed here for 3 nights during thanksgiving break and we enjoyed every minute!! Throughout the inquiry and booking process Ivonne has been extremely helpful and patiently answering all my questions in detail. She provided useful tips and even arranged car service for us from Santo Domingo to Las Terrenas. She also accommodated us on a few other requests which we really appreciated. You are in good hands and won't find a better rental property owner than her. The property is exactly what's described on the website and the virtual tour. We loved the tasteful decor throughout the house and the beautiful furniture. The appliances are all professional grade (Viking) and there's a washer and dryer onsite. The owner Ivonne and Humberto spared no expenses by supplying high quality household products from high end bath towels, shampoos, conditioners, laundry detergents and such. The attention to such detail shows the owners care about its guests. In addition, there's drinking water provided which is a huge plus. The deck is well appointed and is a great place to hang out. We didn't utilize the outdoor pool/jacuzzi since the water was a little on the cold side. This was not an issue for us since the community pool and the beautiful beach are only steps away. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and calm even though it's on the Atlantic side. We enjoyed lounging around at Porto and walking on the beach. Las Terrenas is a hidden gem in DR and you won't regret it. This property is in a gated community so we always felt very safe. The ground crew worked constantly to maintain the high end appreance of the resort. We want to give special recognition to the lovely and hard working housekeeper Maria!! Without her our experience wouldn't be the same. She's such a genuine person with a kind heart and always aims to please. She's also a WONDERFUL cook and we enjoyed every meal she prepared!! Our 5 yr old misses her and wish we could take her back with us. I can go on and on but you get the picture.😄�😄� The only minor downside is the noise of traffic from the narrow road between the house and the beach. Our 10 days at Balcones were as perfect as you can get. It started with how responsive Ivonnne was when booking. He helped us with everything! The trip was easy. WestJet flies into El Catey, which is only 35 minutes from Balcones. Once we arrived...the location is wonderful. The beach was long and pristine (not to mention almost empty during the week). The house is like something from a magazine. 3 bedrooms, a full living and dining room and a great kitchen. We spent almost no time in any of those because the outdoor living room was so amazing. Our family of 4 (10 and 14 year old daughters) and 3 grandparents fit perfectly. The property and pools are immaculately kept. Beyond the incredible luxury of the house was the considerable talents of Maria, who cooks breakfast and lunch each day. Maria makes scrumptious local cuisine with fresh juices and smoothies, eggs, pancakes, and fruit for breakfast. Lunches were our big meal...fish, seafood, pasta, and many Dominican side dishes. The modern Super Polo grocery store in town (and also the French patisserie and the fisherman's market) provided all the food we could want. We went into Las Terrenas for my mother-in-law's birthday dinner but otherwise we were very happy at the house. Balcones is a Dominican vacation resort, populated by locals. The staff speaks Spanish so Google translate was a huge help. Maria was very good at using charades to make sure I was understanding her. I can't say enough about how perfect this place is. Would be great for a large family or two families of four.

I was just going through a stack of papers when I came upon a note to remind me to review our trip to Las Terrenas in June, 2016. My apologies for taking so long to get to it. Let me start by saying, “location is everything.” This home, sitting directly across the street from the beach, within a beautifully manicured resort, is everything a family could ask for in a rental. Easy access to the beach, the resort pools, or your own pool for private time. Several well stocked grocery stores within easy driving distance. A countless number of restaurants to choose from, including the one directly in front of you on the beach. This home also comes with a housekeeper/cook, Maria. Please allow Maria to make you several lunches, at least, and her fresh made fruit juices. My son, to this day, still says that nobody makes better chicken than Maria. If you are not very bilingual, which we are not, download a translation app on your phone and Maria will work extremely patiently with you to get your planning done. The home itself is as comfortable as you could hope for. Fully air-conditioned. Comfortable beds and linens. All the beach/pool towels you could need. WIFI. And a well-equipped kitchen that allowed me to cook up a delicious breakfast every morning. Although Maria offered to do it, cooking breakfast is my thing. We will certainly be back.

We had such a nice stay at Ivonne's rental home. We were a group of 6 and the house was perfect for us - lots of space to hang out downstairs, comfortable bedrooms and a full service kitchen. Ivonne was the ideal host - easily reachable and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Maria, the maid, came every day and made us feel so welcomed in the home. She cooked breakfast, cleaned, and suggested some wonderful nearby sights and activities to check out. The house felt completely safe, less than a minute walk from the beach (security guards posted daily to let guests in and out of the resort area and onto the beach). Not to mention, the outdoor patio area of the house was beautiful and the perfect place to relax, read and sip on an afternoon drink. Our favorite places were boulangerie francais (in town), La Tre Caravelle (5 minutes by car from the house), Las Terrases (beautiful french bistro in Pueblos de los Pescadores) and in nearby Coson, Restaurant Luis, where you pick your own seafood and have it grilled in front of you! We went out one night in town to Mosquito Bar - the drinks were great and the atmosphere was very fun and lively. Our only subpar meal was at El Lugar (restaurant on the way to town) the staff was friendly, but we waited about an hour between each course for our food to come out, some of it not fully cooked. Playa Bonita and Coson were breathtaking beaches and we would definitely recommend making day trips out of both. We also organized massages one day through Maria's friend Sara, and she was incredible! We would definitely recommend having a car or renting an ATV in Las Terrenas as the walk to town (while beautiful) was about 20 minutes walking distance from the house. Having at least nominal spanish speaking skills also seemed necessary to get around the resort and Las Terrenas. There was one person at the reception who spoke English when we arrived, but he was not there after the first day. The resort security guards and Maria, while extremely kind and helpful, only spoke Spanish, so we could imagine it could be somewhat difficult to communicate without any knowledge of the local language. Overall we had a wonderful time in Las Terrenas and we could not recommend this house more! If you're a big group looking for a centrally located house to relax, celebrate and take in the local Dominican flare, this is definitely the place for you. We're already planning our next trip back!

We visited Las Terrenas with a party of 10 as we were two families traveling with a total of six children. This home provided everything we needed and was beautiful. The owners are wonderful people and very accommodating. I recommended this home as it has alot to offer. Close to everything especially the beach. Maria is amazing and made sure we had everything we needed.

We spent a week in Las Terrenas and stayed in this BEAUTIFUL home! By far, one of the best vacations we have ever had! Gorgeous dream home in a gated community with exquisite decor, attention to details, private swimming pool, and huge outdoor patio/living area. We traveled with 8 total people including 2 children (and a teenager) and ALL of us were blown away by the beauty and comfort of the home in addition to everything this location has to offer. We had a blast! Incredible dining, breathtaking ocean views, walking paths, and resort amenities. Maria was AMAZING and went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and all of our needs were met. No detail spared and I can't wait to go back! Thank you so much Beto and Ivonne!
