a closed lobby in the morning, so we where not allowed to sit on the chairs/sofa’s to wait on the Taxi. Very strange situation. The route to the room is also a little strange. Room was very warm when we arrived.

Layout of entrance/bathroom doors resulting in myself on opening the wrong door thinking I was in the bathroom wanting a glass of water, lights out as not wanting to disturb husband, to almost being locked out wearing minimal clothing. Hubby being completely locked out unfortunately not wearing any clothing. The embarrassment he went through as I didn't hear him knocking for me to let him in. It is that reason alone I will never recommend the stay to anyone. Consider a child in the same situation! Consider anyone with poor vision! We enjoy travel. We have never gone through such embarrassment such as the above.

Big room with balcony, good breakfast and I really appreciated the classical heating in the room (no aircon).

I was trying to reach our to the reception several times by phone in a need of an iron. Unfortunatelly, the girl by the reception didnt speak English and her colleague refused to bring me the iron. Taking into consideration it was 10 PM (just after the shower) and my room was a bit far away from the reception, I would have expected such service (or at least an ironing room in each building) in a hotel this category.

We had an issue at opening one of the doors to come to the reception at checking out because key was not working anymore which was not handled in an appropriate way by the staff. Recommend that hotel installs a remote system for opening doors

Food in the restaurant was dreadful and menu was from the '80s. My steak was not edible. Did not eat there after that.

The cost at booking.com was lower to what we had to pay.

Silent rooms and very friendly reception staff

You can get lost in the corridors as the building is big and the numbering of room numbers is noct very logic. I did not take breakfast for 19,50 € as it does not be reasonable 10 minutes having a coffee and a bread. Water pressure in the shower was poor.

The breakfast is excellent with a very wide choice and good coffee.

We have been visiting Van def Valk hotels in Eindhoven or more latterly, Vught for about 20 years. The evening meal was always very good with a wide variety of dishes and a good choice of vegetable sides. This year however, oh dear, the menu had shrunk to a third of its former self and the vegetable sides were appalling. Three tiny dishes between three of us, two containing fried potatoes (fries in one and sauté in the other) and the vegetable (green beans one night and chicory (?!) the other were watery and unpleasant. Frankly they appeared to have been hauled off the compost heap. We will know to book our evening meal outside the hotel in future. Disappointing to say the least.

Nice staff, very good breakfast and plenty of parking space.

The mattress is terrible! It is too old and therefore too soft. It gave me a big neck pain.
