Well the shower head keep on falling apart. My door couldn't close I have to call maintenance several time to fix it. Food was ok but I think they need to better job to keep the property in better shape. Definitely needs some renovation. But staff was over all great. Beach is nice.

The food was fantastic for Dominican resorts. The staff is the best I've experienced. Upon arrival I was greeted with an ice cold hand cloth and beverage. Both were greatly appreciated!! GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION. There was absolutely no line at our 4pm (hour late. Check-in is at 3pm) arrival time to check-in. At every other resort we had to wait in a 20-30 minute line which always is turbulent. Not this time at Blue Bay. The buffet was great! Fresh delicious hot food. 24/7snack was a HUGE highlight. The 24 hour snack bar is at the beach. From reception-janitor the staff was just perfect. Blue Bay resort Puerto Plata, I'm extremely happy with what you doing there! Great job! Ohh, I almost forgot to mention a VERY important characteristic to the resort. Blue Bay is an ADULT ONLY resort that aims to please the mature adult crowd. Another plus, the resort was not overly full. And lastly, the property is positioned on the PERFECT stretch of beautiful beach. TOTALLY private (with the exception of beach vendors), clean, perfect amount of covered beds and beach layout chairs. Both the beds and chairs had a canopy to shade residents.

If I had to mention something it would be the hair shavings my wife found in the shower. The hair and a couple other indicators my wife found brought us to the conclusion that the room had not been tended to just prior to our arrival. The mini fridge didn't function well (warm drinks), there was no coffee to make In the coffee machine. It was clear that a staff member or non-guest stayed in the room and didn't have it properly cleaned and stocked before our arrival.

The price was to high for the room

The hotel is perfectly located with access to a beautiful beachfront. the staff at the restaurants and beach bars are very nice and accommodating. Although is not a new hotel , it is very well maintained. I liked the pond with trouts, turtles and ducks. I also loved the mariachis.

In my view, the attention at the reception desk was terrible. The man who received me was was rude and inflexible when I asked to be able to check out 45min late in order to use their own spa facilities. The hotel was 30% capacity and he confirmed me there was no guest arriving that day to that room. Yet, he didn’t even considered it. I’d have pay extra if requested. It is a pity, because the other female staff at the desk and the entire staff hotel were very kind. Finally, the buffet at the main restaurant (there was only 1 open) was very poor and I hope it can improve. The best was the fresh fruit and the omelette station. Other than that, it is impossible to find a healthy choice. Lean protein without sauces , veggies ( the “steamed” ones were laying in a pool of liquid) , or good salad bar. The 2 choices at the healthy corner were not appealing at all or tasty. These are actually inexpensive and easy to implement. Just having can, tuna, roasted chicken, nice dry steamed veggies , and a bottle of olive oil and vinagre will be enough.

Not much it was our 4th visit this year because all other visit we really enjoyed it. I was not treated the same right from check in i was disappointed charge a different amount didnt get our welcome drink and front desk that helped me was very unprofessional. We always get a thank u from booking treat or drink nit this time our fridge in the room was broken over all we left to another resort. I was very dissatisfied we was there in feb and April and really loved it

Our room was clean but our refrigerator did work and the coffee maker looked disgusted it was the worst experience ever and its sad we really loved this place before

The arrival was smooth, I was in my car and was able to park within the premise. The reception and the services were fine, it was very crowded that weekend. The room were OK, either way I was expecting something different. The areas were clean and they service try they best to maintaining that way, there were a lot of people and they were always looking to organize and refill everything. The beach was amazing, the Villas have their own space on the beach and you can relax without worrying about people. The food was ok, it was buffet but they include theme every night to change it up a bit.

The reception, before arriving I was trying to connect with the person in charge of reservations, it didn't connect at all. Before that, I send an email just to confirm my request and I got no response. Accommodation in the room, I request two beds in the room and they change me to a room with one bed. The bathroom was so small that was a bit uncomfortable (I haven't time to take photo) The facade overall of the Villa, it looks a bit old. I think they need to remodeling the complexes, not just maintaining them.

The menu was not so good (needs more variety) No electricity in the night time (That means no AC) The fan didn’t work The telephone line did not work The rooms needs to be upgraded Most of the things are old Please don’t book this resort. Don’t waste your money.

Food ,pool staff, beach

I had to ask to have my mini bar with beer. I like to have a beer outside my room at night. I don't feel like walking all the way to the beach bar at 11 o'clock at night. I want to relax before bed.

Any unit close to 3 swimming pools. Fantastic swim up pool bar with huge sparkling clean pool. Excellent sturdy loungers poolside. Dining chairs comfortable. Beautiful green landscaping.

Offer lounge pool cushions.

everything was great and the entertaining staff was awesome keeping everybody having a good time specially Alfredo and Ariele and the mc that I don’t remember his name
