Friendly and attentive staff. Light, large and well equipped suites.
No highchairs with straps or leg divide for small children. Lack of indoor eating spaces in poor weather.
7.0
Do espaço exterior
As refeições tinham pouca variedade e muito
Simples. O tudo incluído e enganador. A praia é bonita, mas é impossível para banhos, devido as rochas e profundidade

Resort is phenomenal. Amazing beach, gym, grounds are just WOW. Staff super nice & hospitable
Rooms feel a bit dated, not matching the resort which is just blow you away. Restaurant got a dodgy stomach one night & one night the Buffet bbq wasn’t what you would expect from 5*. Wi-Fi in rooms slow and not even plug sockets

Zanzibar is still developing so set your expectations right :huge facility - welcoming friendly staff - nice sceneries - some food is planted on premises - extra effort to welcome guests -pest control is good -family friendly -one of the good options on the island - many on premise activities-great coffee -good Internet connection -great gym facilities
The below is not to crticize but to improve :Under utilised facility(all activities in in one area ) -sub par food - average room designs for a 5 stars resort -humidity in the rooms - slippery floors in the rooms -lack of food hygiene - lack of information about resort activities -lack of staff hierarchy- the resort left to be run on its own(never saw any manager during our 10 says stay ) -total disregard to sustainability (badly maintained water sprinklers working all day long as one example )-no life guard on pool -total of only 3 pools all over the resort (exclusive access to 1 and one small gym pool )-watery cocktails (using cheap alcohol for alcoholic ones ) -all inclusive formula means u need to pay for many types of food on the menu

Staffing amazing and a source of well-being
Minor point: for the restauration the staffing is so quick and efficient but they need to give some times prior to remove the plates especially if the other person did not finish, it gives the impression that we need to hurry.

The staff was really nice
The food was not good at all - we were really disapointed knowing that we paid a very high price for this hotel.
The beach was very far from where we were staying.
Our bungalow was very far from all the rest of the hotel, it was really dark to access it and we had to go down and up multiple stairs so we were out of breath each time we were leaving the bungalow.

Very big (maybe even too big) clean and green territory. Gabi beach is very nice. Gabi restaurant and pool bar have good variety of food (salads, meat, fish, octopus). great cocktail menu. Spacious roo, comfortable bed
We staid in main hotel (not Level). While room is spacious, it is not cosy… bathroom is big, but toilet and shower spaces are narrow. limited space to hide your staff in the bathroom (only open shelves).
Food is a drama for a 5 star hotel. Buffet menu is so limited and nothing special. we could hardly find something to eat. Of course you will not be hungry, but no enjoyment( No a la carte restaurants. Only Jetty restaurant, but very very limited menu (only 2 kinds of fish main course… no meat or seafood). Other al a carte restaurant is for extra charge only.
Pool and Gabi beach bars are the only places we enjoyed having food (no breakfast and dinner their… but working time is lengthy… from 10 to 18).
Beach is good, but tides are significant. You can enjoy sea only one part of the day.
Staff in main restaurant is too slow and pay no attention to you. if you do not ask, you will not get.
Melia was the second 2star hotel, but unfortunately not in favor of it… Is good place, but with something to be ready for

I loved the views, the staff were very attentive, great hospitality. An amazing place overall. Paradise.
I don’t think there is anything I can’t fault. I would just say perhaps at Tamu some items on the menu can be included in the all inclusive package.

I thought the breakfast was fantastic. They had variety of food. The fruits were amazing. The customer service was very good
We had the level stay and I didn't know we had a separate pool and lounge until towards the end of the stay.

The Jetty restaurant was in a fantastic setting. The gardens were well kept. The beach was quite private but yet you were able to observe everything that was going on as the tide went in and out. The beach restaurant was lovely.

the outside areas are good, you can also find a pool for adult only at the spa/Gim area.
the Spa is great (good massage).
the bedrooms are very outdated (for the price you can find a better place), are not very clean at all. We spent an horrible first night: the sheets were not clean (sand in it), the AC wasn’t working normally so it made a lot of noice. Also everything in the room seemed quite dirty, and smelly.
for the 2nd night (and after complaining) they gave us another room (with an AC working) but still as there are windows direct to corridors, the room was fully enlighted…
the food was very bad: no flavor, almost not eatable…. we don’t recommand to stay there.
also it was very noisy during the night…

The layout is wonderful and I felt very safe. Its relaxing to go for morning walks and to take in all of the views. I am glad that there are security guards on the beach. The food was absolutely divine throughout my stay, and the cocktails and wines were delicious aswell. The morning of my departure I was told that someone would assist me with my suitcase to reception. No one came to help me and when I got to reception the staff stood around talking, not how I was expecting to be treated as a guest.
The shower door in my room didn’t close properly. The toilet seat was loose and skew, which is very offputting and not what I would have expected for a 5 star place and the price that I was paying. My Swiss Army knife got stolen out of my room and when I told reception they weren’t bothered. The staff sometimes offered me water at meals but wouldn’t pitch up with it (I don’t know if this was because I was alone at the table). My last day I was trying to enjoy the beach and I also had a staff member come and speak to me constantly and stand in my way when I had made it clear that I was done chatting, this was irritating. I only ate at the pool restaurant once, the burger I ate was the worst I have ever had and the service was terrible. So I never went there again, but the sun restaurant and Gavin beach had absolutely delicious food.

The Melia Zanzibar is a good hotel without direct access to the beach
The staff is perfect.
But we can't consider this a 5 star hotel.
The breakfast is poor.
The is no beach access.
The decoration is old and not appropriate for a 5 star hotel.
We asked an upgrade for the Melia The Level and there you can consider has a 5 star hotel but the food and breakfast once again is too poor for the price.
I would return because of the staff.
Breakfast too simple for a 5 star with rooms per night at 700usd
Restaurant Gabi Beach was good the rest acceptable.
