This was our second time staying and we had a wonderful time. The fall colours were beautiful and we followed the host’s recommendations for some spots to check out nearby. We brought our two young twins who had an amazing family weekend. Thanks again!

We had a lovely vacation, property is very tranquil with all of the trees! Cottage was very homey and had everything we needed. Only suggestion is new mattresses as they were not very comfortable.

Perfect vacation getaway. Cottage very well kept and clean. Lots of space and close to Huntsville.

Loved the cottage and the location. Lake was nice and Huntsville is a great location area.

The booking, communication and check-in with the owners was easy and private. We arrived with directions and a door code. The cottage is clean and very practical, with everything you would stock in your own home. It was fantastic as a getaway for our anniversary, but would be a great place to come back to for a family vacation. (hopefully next year) Hot tub was a great way to relax.!! The Huntsville area has so much to offer for hikers, canoers, bird watchers, fishing , biking etc... The bakeries and restaurants are amazing as well. Thank-you Barb and Tom for a great getaway!

This was truly a beautiful cottage. Kitchen is exceptionally stocked with everything you need, not bits and parts as we've found at most rentals. Very clean and well maintained. Owners were quick to respond. Everything you need is right there at your fingertips. Highly recommend and would love to come back for a longer stay next time.

Second visit to the property included some upgrades with the kitchen appliances. We had an idea what to expect so there were no surprises with booking, communications with owner or arrival. The property is immaculate and cozy. There really isn’t anything the owners haven’t thought of to make your experience comfortable and relaxing. We are already discussing a booking for late August 2022 and would love to be able to spend a weekend in the fall if the opportunity presented itself. Honestly, as long as you are willing to make a very small walk to the dock opposite the cottage there isn’t a single thing I could complain about and would recommend this property to anyone. Absolutely enjoyed every second of our stay and can’t wait to return.

This was our second stay at the cottage this summer. Different group of people same amount of fun. Found the second dock this time and went swimming and fishing. We caught a few small bass which was fun. The cottage is well equipped and very clean. Had some awesome campfires and when it rained we were able to stay outside at the bar and play darts.

We had a great time at this cottage. The property is great and as expected. Location to beaches and provincial parks is about 15-25 mins away. Also only 20 minutes into town (Huntsville). If you have older kids the bunky is an added bonus! Everything you need to relax and have fun. A short walk to lane Vernon where there is public dock to use. Upon arriving the owner left a few goodies for our kids which they enjoyed! Thank you Barbara and Tom! We made great memories.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. This cottage has everything you need and the hosts are super responsive. My kids and parents had a great time playing darts and a whole lot of other games. I highly recommend this place for families. The hosts really have taken care of every detail. Simply bring your clothes and food Thank you Barbara and Tom!

The place is better than what you see in the pictures. Seven adults stayed with lots of room, never overcrowded. Rainy days spent at the outdoor bar playing darts. Hutcheson’s beach is just 20 minutes away and worth spending the day there. Cleanest cottage we have ever rented, would definitely go back. In fact we are going back in August and looking forward to it. Highly recommended!!!

I enjoyed everything about the place, location was very nice being a short walk to the dock and the neighbours were very welcoming and friendly. Only complaint would be if you have back issues the single bed can be quite hard to sleep on being thin, but other than that the other beds were great! The owners had great communication and were really nice. I would definitely recommend this place.

Barb and Tom are exceptional hosts: kind, very responsive and organized. With an abundance of snow, we didn't leave except to walk to the lake and toboggan everyday on the 'summer only' road. Had so much fun being outside for hours and then returning to the cottage for a soak in the hot tub or watching movies. Great nighttime fire at the outdoor fire pit to celebrate New Years. Area is quiet and not close to stores so be sure to bring in all you need in winter months.

Barbara and Tom are excellent hosts, they really know how to make the space feel homey! With the full stocked kitchen, wonderful location, hot tub facing the woods, and more than enough games/dvds, it's all you could ask for!

Just stayed at this cottage and it was perfect. We were a group of 5 ladies and the place was great. Clean well stocked and everything we could have asked for. Can't wait to visit again

This cottage was perfect for a girls weekend. The kitchen was fully loaded with everything you could possibly need, the beds were comfy, and the hot tub was great!

Enjoyed every bit of our stay

Our little family of four had a great time enjoying the surrounding nature admist this cute little cottage. The bunkie is a nice little feature with the bar and bonfire pit close by. It also has a hot tub which was nice to enjoy at night. The dock is a bit of a trek with little ones or elderly folk (across the road a little ways and down a hill) but we managed- my first born loved the little nature challenges. Would stay again for sure. =)

It truly is a happy place. Peace and quiet and a place to forget about your worries. My sons found a nice peaceful spot to go fishing and I found a nice peaceful spot on the porch in the mornings having a coffee. Campfires at night at the bonfire pit. Everything you always wanted in The Great Outdoors is there.

You know when you book something online after reading reviews and hope that you choose correctly??...well..this time we chose correctly!!! Everything about this cottage was perfect! We celebrated a family event(a silver anniversary)with everyone from grandparents to grandkids and Barbara and Tom's cottage was a great experience! The main cottage had absolutely everything we needed and the bunkie was absolutely perfect for our littlest ones(8 and 10yrs old) with comfy beds and a dvd player to wind down after a day of canoeing and exploring! Everything was super clean and well stocked with everything you need-there really wasn't anything that was missing! The treck down to the dock was too much for my Mom with knee problems(we knew that though from the booking site) but she stayed at the cottage to enjoy the sun in the garden and watch the chipmunks and frogs! The hot tub was great to relax in! Barbara even decorated the cottage with a heart garland and surprised our silver anniversary couple with a bottle of champagne in the fridge which we enjoyed around the firepit! As for the area-Lake Vernon is gorgeous! The canoe adventure on the lake was beautiful, the kids and adults had a great paddle. The drive to Huntsville and on to Algonquin Park was beautiful! We saw wild turkeys and groundhogs on the way and saw a mother moose with her calf in the park. I could keep writing about all our fun experiences!... needess to say..we had a fabulous stay☺ I would defiantely recommend this place to everyone! Correspondance with Barbara was always prompt via text msg and email. All in all...5🌟's from us!

This cottage and property are amazing. Hot tub is a bonus!!. The huge fire pit was great when the kids and grandchildren came up for the day on the weekend. Only 2 downsides - the beach was impossible for my wife to get down to (not handicap accessible) and nature gave us too many super hot and humid days. There are many fans, but a/c would be nice, even if just in a bedroom. If there is anything you can think of bringing, don't - the cottage is the best equipped we've ever seen. The only thing missing was a bartender for the outside bar(:! We could retire here! Thanks for the great mind break!

We had a great time. Arrowhead Park is a short drive away and the beaches are great. Fishing off the dock on Lake Vernon was lots of fun for our grandson (5 Years old). The bunkie was great for our grandson! The bar was fun for the adults, great idea!

Communication with the owners was quick, pleasant and focused on what we needed. The hands free checkin was easy. Upon arrival we quickly felt at home and eased into the very well kept cottage. Easily accommodates four teenage girls, my wife and I. Stocked with everything you can think of, you just need food and clothes. Nice quite cottage community to relax. Twenty Minute drive to Huntsville and Aerohead. The one and only challenge was getting the canoe to the lake. Would definitely recommend that the owner purchase a canoe dolly if they are going to continue to advertise in the listing. Once down at the shared dock which is owned by Town, the view was amazing and the water was very warm. Overall had a fantastic time, definitely looking into returning in 2021.

Thank you Barbara and Tom for this home away from home, you have thought of every details . The outdoor space is very spacious with many spots to relax and unwind beside the hot tub. We wished there was a kayak to carry easily to the lake, we enjoyed connecting over board games, the laundry machine was very helpful too. Thank you for the prompt response whenever needed.

We stayed at this lovely cottage the first week of July. I have to say the owners are absolutely wonderful and helpful. The cottage is perfect with everything you need. The only flaw is not being directly on the water. Yes you do have only a short walk down the street to the dock and is lovely once you are there. The hot tub out back made up for this! I would definitely recommend staying here.
