The view from the room is the best feature of this hotel. Very few hotels can offer such a view for a relatively affordable price. The hotel also has a minimart and cafe so it’s convenient if you’re lazy to drive out to grab a bite or knick knacks.

The view and affordability comes with a price, which is the remote location. The hotel is like the last property on the paved but uneven road. So driving to the hotel from the town centre is like a good 30mins, make it 40mins when it’s dark and raining. Room is comfortable for 2 adults and an infant, anything more than that, you will need a bigger room there.

The road go to farmstay very bad, can be improved.

It’s really clean. For a small operator it’s very really well maintained. Our unit has 1 queen and 2 twin, comfortable for 4 ppl. They have restaurant and convenience store. We arrived quite late in the evening, after 3 hrs drive from Kota Kinabalu we were too tired to go out again. Very glad we could eat proper (and affordable) dinner at the chalet. The view of Mount Kinabalu is gorgeous from the sitting area upstairs. Some units have mountain view from their balcony too. Owner is really friendly.

Access road from the last junction to the property (about 1 km) is very poor. Lots of potholes and uneven paving. Some skilled driving required. Pillows are hard, fluffier pillows would be nice. Duvets are comfortable but it would be good to have spare wool blanket too. The second night we were there it was very cold, i wished i had wool blanket to layer my duvet. Water flow in the bathroom is a bit slow. There are cats on the property, one cat kept trying enter our unit, always had to chase it away as one of us is allergic to cats.

Peaceful and quiet, the food from the restaurant was really good too.

It was far in Kampung Mesilou, takes almost half and an hour to reach Kundasang town from the farmstay. The roads were bumpy but still doable.

The drive to this accommodation is windy, road conditions was also bad with lots of potholes. Accommodation is just beside a main road, not in a farmland, so felt a bit cheated by the name “farmstay”. Room is really basic, just a kettle & cups, no tv, shower and toilet together in a small space. Room also has a unpleasant gutter smell. There were also signs of landslide just behind the accommodation. We have booked for two nights but left after one night as the beddings were uncomfortable and the gutter smell was also quite unbearable.
