Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was very good. Communal areas were very impressive. Breakfast was fabulous.

The room we were initially allocated had the ventilation boiler on the outside wall and was very noisy. We requested a change but unfortunately the 2nd room window was right above the same unit. 3rd time lucky and we happy with the top floor room. It was a bit smaller but very quiet and comfortable. The staff were very patient and helpful

Hotellet ligger väldigt bra nära både Hyde Park/Kensington garden och tunnelbanestationerna Queensway och Bayswater. Även nära Notting hill och Paddington. Vi tyckte att läget var kanon. Ligger även på en lugnare gata De allmänna ytorna tex frukostmatsalen , lobbyn på hotellet är fantastiskt vackra i gammal stil. Bra utrustat med olika hygienartiklar och te/kaffekokare mm Rummen är väldigt små och enkla men det visste vi ju redan innan vi bokade. Badrummet var fräscht och i nyare standard Bra frukost i en så vacker lokal. Det var väldigt lungt där och bra innehåll för att vara en Engelsk frukost. Personalen där var underbar. Väldigt trevliga och serviceinriktade. De gjorde att man fick en väldigt fin inledning på dagen. Vi gillade verkligen frukosten.

Vi fick ett rum i källaren och lyfte att jag var tvungen att ha ett rum där vi såg ut. Fanns ett källarfönster. De kunde inte lösa det till första natten men vi skulle få det till de nästföljande 4 så det kändes bra. Det nya rummet låg på andra våningen istället så det skulle ju vara bra. Tyvärr fick vi ändå ett rum där vi tittade rakt in i en annan byggnad. Detta var en besvikelse och drar ned omdömet. När vi fick byta rum trodde vi att det skulle bli bättre. Det löstes inte bra. De löste däremot flytt av bagaget osv vilket ju var bra.

Rooms need updating. Bathroom especially. Cracked toilet pan. Cracked and worn bath. Shower glass screen pointless as not wide enough to deflect water so goes on floor. Door handle in bathroom falling off. Mattress lumpy. Duvet I think was a double in a king size case.

The breakfast was good and the service prompt and helpful. We enjoyed the high quality of the food , tea and coffee and the biscuits in the room.

We were disappointed with the 4’6” bed as we have a 5’ bed at home so felt squashed. The room was a little snug but well appointed and admitted ly we could have upgraded which we will do if we come again.

Beautiful hotel with a very interesting history. Easy check in with pleasant staff. Excellent, upscale location with easy access to public transit, Hyde Park and several restaurants, pubs and shopping all within walking distance. Modern, updated and spotless bathroom with a large tub and shower. Plentiful breakfast buffet served in the historic dining area.

We expected our room to be small but found it extremely cramped, even for only two people. The design of the room was quirky as there was a set of 6 stairs as soon as you opened the room door from the hallway. We understand that this is a historical property however there was virtually no space to store our suitcases at the bottom of the stairs which opened up to the sleeping area. When we returned from a day of touring, we found the curtains in our room to be falling down, presumably after the maid had cleaned the room. The problem was quickly rectified by hotel staff however. On the final night of our stay, the air conditioning stopped functioning making for a somewhat unpleasant sleep because the room was so warm. The front desk staff seemed a little indifferent when we reported the issue upon check-out. Although the bathroom was nicely updated with a large tub and shower, there was no shower curtain or door to prevent water from splashing onto the floor. Not sure why but this seems to be common in the UK as our other accommodations had the same design.

Handrail needed at front door. Waste bin and ash can needed out front. Room was incredibly small. Bathroom fixtures difficult to operate and rather dangerous due to risk of scalding.
