The remote setting and beautiful location. Very friendly and helpful staff. The local restaurant/pub also served delicious food.

Kleine familiengeführte Unterkunft, die mehrere Bungalows anbietet. Zudem gibt es einen sehr schönen Pool sowie einen großen Aufenthaltsraum, in dem auch das Frühstück angeboten wird. Dazu können wir aber nichts sagen, da wir vor den Frühstückszeiten bereits aufgebrochen sind. Zudem gehört zu der Unterkunft ein Restaurant, in dem man direkt zu Abend essen konnte.
Beim Check-in war, trotz vorheriger Ankündigung der Ankunftszeit, nur der Besitzer vor Ort, der leider nur Spanisch spricht, sodass der Check-in sehr holprig war. Später war dann auch die Besitzerin vor Ort, die sehr gut Englisch spricht.
Zudem ist die Zufahrt zum Hotel leider nicht ausgeschildert und über Google Maps nur schwer/nicht zu finden. Wir mussten im Restaurant nachfragen, um die letzten 500 m zu finden. Ein Schild an der Einfahrt wäre sehr hilfreich.
Tagsüber wird es sehr warm in den Hütten, da es keine Klimaanlage gibt - nachts kühlt es allerdings gut ab, sodass es gut temperiert war. Lüften über Nacht ist nur schwierig möglich, da die einzigen Möglichkeiten zum Öffnen die Türen sind.
Die Matratze ist sehr dünn und liegt auf einem durchgängigen Brett, was dazu führt, dass die Betten nicht sonderlich bequem sind.

Cadre agréable, situation géographique idéale pour arpenter la région, autonomie avec cuisine commune à disposition., piscine parfaite pour les enfants.
Bungalows auraient besoin d'un coup de fraîcheur. Prévoir monnaie locale au restaurant familial si vous ne voulez pas vous faire voler sur le taux de change avec dollars.

Loved staying here! Beautiful and quiet property run by a very kind and welcoming family. They had a lot of good suggestions for fun activities in the surrounding area that were kind of off-the-beaten path. The room was very clean with a nice bathroom. Super yummy breakfast (included) and dinner (extra). Would highly recommend anyone to stay here!! Thanks for having me.

A beautiful garden, lovely view, very clean and comfortable. The owner was very kind. The dinner at the restaurant of the owner was delicious. The best place we had in Costa Rica!!

One of the most beautiful and tranquil properties I've stayed at. I loved walking around the property and taking pictures of the nature, animals and views. The pool is gorgeous and the views surrounding the buildings are so calming. We got to see great stars at night too. The family who owns the farm is very friendly and own a restaurant in the town. You take such a cute path to get to the restaurant and the food is delicious. Breakfast was also delicious.
Beds are a little bit uncomfortable.

The rustic open experience of the place. Lovely grounds, the father showed us the hiking trails down to the river that are being built.
Privacy if wanted in the cabins and grounds but lovely home house to mix and enjoy the views. Food in the family run pub and restaurant in town was delicious, cooked on the wood BBQ..

Jorge and his family were very welcoming and treated us very well during our stay. They also recommended us a great driver. Their farm is beautiful and very private. The closest restaurant which is also managed by the family is a 5 minute walk from the eco lodge.
Wifi was only really available in the main house where you have breakfast.

The accommodation was beautiful, and the views were even better.
The restaurant in town does the best food, so tasty. The spicy sauce is home made and yummy.
The pool is filled with spring water, so there is no cemicals.

Breakfast was great, just what we needed every day. And dinner at their restaurant down the road was excellent every time… as was the billiards and the vibe. The main house was large and airy with a fantastic view from the deck. Great little town too. Everyone is so friendly. Loved the cows:)
We’re used to bath mats, wash cloths and hand towels, but bath towels provided were great.

This place is breathtakingly beautiful. You’re in the middle of a farm, lush green everywhere, birds flying around (including toucans and hummingbirds). The caning are big and comfortable. The breakfast is fresh cooked by the family running it. The common area huge, comfy and with amazing view over the hill. That’s an easy 10/10.

A small family run business in a farm. Like a family stay in your own cabin. Father runs the family restaurant 5 minutes walk in the town. Feels rustic rural, but close to a town. They do veggie food too. Great for wild life, they have a dog and farm animals about the site. Very helpful people and 'can do' attitude.
Occasionally noisy due to local town lorry traffic going up the hill.

The staff made us feel like family. When our tire went flat on an adventure, the owner spent over an hour on the phone to help us. They also have a little cantina-like bbq joint that felt like you were in a small town social hub.

Jorge and his family were fantastic hosts giving us lots of information and providing recommendations for where to go/activities to do. They made us coffee and breakfast every morning and Jorge took the time to chat and get to know us. The cabin was very large comprising of a bed, small table, small fridge and small tv. The bathroom wasn’t sectioned off i.e. just around the corner with a shower and sink area.
It was in a very remote area so would recommend a car which we didn’t have. However Jorge managed to organise taxi’s for us (his mum/sister) which was very nice. Being so remote the only place to really eat was at the family restaurant - it was really good but would have still been nice to have a few more options. Also we weren’t told that there was a heat switch at the top of the shower so ended up having cold showers whilst we were there!!

The owners of this place are a lovely family and it shows in every aspect: arriving here as a traveller, one really feels like staying with family. Jorge has excellent tips for activities in the vicinity, the breakfast is excellent, and if the weather isn’t great, it‘s always a great opportunity to spend a lazy afternoon in one of the cozy sofas or armchairs in the common area. The cabin we stayed in was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. definitely try the smoked pork ribs in the nearby restaurant that also belongs to the family!

I really enjoyed my stay at Los Gallitos. There are some cozy cabanas surrounded by flower garden with a panoramic view from the main building.
I also loved interacting with horse and cows.
There’s also an option to visit some local attractions like rivers or waterfalls or going on a hike.
It is also worth mentioning the hospitality of apartments hosts. Jorge is always ready to help and support and speaks perfect English.
None. Mostly recommend staying here.

Can’t say I did not like it, cause we signed up for it… rooms are really basic, so do not expect luxury rooms, nature it is!

The host was really welcoming, and the lodge was really nice. Perfect location to visit catarata do toro and close to poas volcano

A lovely family run lodge. The room is spacious and comfortable.
The kitchen is big and well equipped. We did not use it though as we visited the hotels restaurant. The food was divine and we can really recommend the smoked ribs.
There are fruit trees on the farm were you can pick an assortment.
Tap water is from a well and safe to drink.
The family on site is very friendly, attentive and helpful.
We had a pleasant stay at this lodge.
