We had a great time and enjoyed the area. Location is close to all of the Black Hills attraction. The hosts made sure we had everything we would need for our stay. We realized on the road home that we had left an item behind. We let Brett and Lori know and they found the item and made sure it made its way back to us. Thank you for a great stay!

Perfect location for our family vacation. Amazing setting! Short drive into Custer and easy to get to all the area attractions. Perfect place to have your morning coffee on the deck or take it with you on a drive through Custer State Park!

My husband, family, and friends enjoyed ourselves greatly until the very end. The location of this property was a perfect get-a-away. We spent most of our time outdoors, however, our children enjoyed playing games and spending time with family on the property. We started noticing items such as appliances such as the washing machine and coffee machine were broken. Then, we discovered under the blankets on the banister- every single column was not connected to the main banister. They easily fell apart after the blankets were removed by our children. Several attempts were made to reconnect the falling columns, but it was not something I felt I needed to fix. This could have been a dangerous situation if we had a toddler traveling with us. I contacted the owner about the broken appliances and the columns, but the owner later accused me of breaking his staircase after we left and were driving back to our home. I am horrified by the way the owner treated me and after I was trying to establish a positive relationship with hopes of staying again. I do not recommend this property-- not because of his home, even though he should have disclosed his items were broken, especially the staircase. I have saved the text messages and would be happy to share the poor exchanges between myself and the property owner.

The close proximity to Custer park made easy access to all the trails.

The cabin is great. Every amenity you would want. The owners are very hands on and contact you before and during stay. The location is great. It borders Custer State park and Wind Cave NP, Jewel Cave NM, Crazy Horse memorial and Mt Rushmore are a short drive.

A great place and spot.

Our family loved it here. This place is so perfect as it is super secluded (literally surrounded by nature) yet so close to town. We saw so many deer on the property and the kids loved exploring the rocks. The actual house was so much nicer than the pictures give credit. My three boys stayed in the loft and there was so much room. We barely even used the lower level. The location of the property was super central to all the things we wanted to do.. explore the national parks, ATV, Mount Rushmore, boating Pactola. Custer was our favorite town. It’s less touristy and had some great shops and restaurants. Beggin Burro, Custer Beacon and Baker’s Bakery were our favorite . Horatio’s Ice Cream parlor is also delicious. The owner was super responsive, checked in with us and gave some recommendations.

We had a great time visiting SD for the first time, and this location was perfect. We enjoyed the large yard, deck, the three floors inside worked out great for teens in the loft, parents on the main floor, and we took the basement. The space for the provided hammocks and cornhole were a bonus! Thanks you!

Great cabin, super private surrounded by State Park land with no other houses in sight, but only 5 minutes to Custer. We had deer in our yard every day, and a cool little hiking trail behind the house takes you up into magical rock formations. Tons of room both inside and out. Best deck ever. Can't wait to come back next year!!!

Beautiful cabin in perfect location, central to everything. Spacious, well stocked and well maintained, the cabin is located on an idyllic lot of land surrounded by tall pines. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the quiet. Thank you for everything, Brett and Lori! We'll certainly be back!

In a very great location with views of Custer state park. Amazing outdoor area and very short drive to some trail riding.

Great location. We had a family group of 8 and the cabin was so spacious. Cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. Was a great place to gather. ❤️

My husband and I had our first stay in this wonderful home. Very clean and the property is beautiful. Very close to Custer State Park. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need - they even had all the ingredients to make smores!! The only drawback we had at all was that the outside lighting did not work making it very dark at nighttime while trying to enjoy the deck but the owners said that they address this. We will be booking again for sure!!

We had an excellent stay. This property is absolutely gorgeous with just a short jaunt to Custer. The close proximity to the park is wonderful. We had 6 adults and alot more room than we could possibly use. All the amenities were there, couldn't ask for anything more.

Yard is amazing for games or a lawn chair and star gazing! Loved the fire pit and also the outdoor gas fire pit on the deck! The loft was so cozy and we didn't even realize there was a full living area downstairs. This place is a gem!!!!!! Location great! We will return.

Relaxing

Owners were super great with communication for starters. Amazing location, views, and amenities. The cabin is located just outside the west entrance to Custer State Park. Close to Mt. Rushmore, Needles Highway etc. Well appointed kitchen, plenty of seating, extra blankets for beds, several fans (for those of us who need that white noise) clean bathrooms, amazing deck with grills and gas fireplace. Lower level has a separate kitchen and living room area which we didn't really use but would be great for larger groups. Clear laminated 'cabin instructions' located though out the home. For this trip, we had a short stay with friends (just the four of us) but we would definitely return with family to this property for our next Black Hills trip.

This cabin was a wonderful, quiet place for our family to use as "base camp" for all the amazing things to do not too far from the cabin. The hosts were helpful and kind and the cabin was welcoming and had a perfect spot for everyone in our family to enjoy.

Our family enjoyed staying at the cabin while we explored the Custer State Park and surrounding area. We had everything we needed at the house. We enjoyed the large yard and making s’mores over the fire pit. The house is very close to the entrance to Custer which was really convenient.

We were very happy with our stay. So peaceful and private. The only neighbors we saw were the deer. Very close to Custer park and the town of Custer. Very well stocked and clean.

Fantastic location. It’s on a nice quiet road by Custer State Park so exploring can be done right out the doorstep. Large property provides ample privacy and solitude. Enjoyed using the flat top grill and gas grill. Accommodations were as advertised. Lots of room for the kids to spread out. Communication was excellent with the owner. There were no issues during our stay, but we had confidence help was only a text away if we needed anything.

Very nice. The location was great for local hiking. The state park was across the street and the federal lands were behind the property. The house layout was very nice and the outdoor deck and other amenities were very comfortable and user friendly. The only thing my wife lacked was a bath tub instead of a shower. I would return to this place again...no question.
