Loved watching the sheep every morning from the bathroom window and garden. Loved everything to be honest could fault a thing.

We have just returned from our week stay at The Retreat and what a stay it was. The accommodation was amazing and had everything we needed. Our daughter loved her den in the living room - playing and sleeping there. The private garden was lovely to sit, drink tea and see the sheep roam around in the morning. Plus a perfect spot to see the Milky Way on a clear star filled night. The location is perfect with a great little pub up the road with super friendly staff and games, to the next village of Downtown for a tasty Chip Shop visit. It was super easy to get to Salisbury town centre, plus take an adventure drive to see the wild horses, cows, donkeys and even deers on a night drive. Everything at the property was of a high standard, super comfy bed and plenty of games provided for entertainment. We absolutely loved our stay and have been telling everyone how wonderful it has been since we got home. So glad we discovered and booked The Retreat for our family holiday.

Sue and Trevor are very friendly and helpful, but also non-intrusive hosts. Beautiful location. The children loved the animals in the garden and fields surrounding The Retreat. Good quality linen, towels etc and well equipped kitchen.

Beautiful place! Cosy, warm, elegant and spotless. Absolutely brilliant private territory with fire pit, veggie garden, gorgeous views of Redlynch fields and woods. Children just loved friendly sheeps and chicken! Stunning walks all around and Salisbury just a short drive away.

With regards to how to access the property, we were emailed with exactly what we needed to do and where the keys would be. Very efficient.

Location and overall layout was amazing. The host was perfect and the ability to enjoy the grounds and see the sheep and chicken were brilliant. The eggs on sale on the property were amazing.

The mattress on the bed was a bit uncomfortable

The outdoor space was amazing, we had a terrific view of fields with sheep grazing , plenty of space, comfortable, well kept clean and private. Access to the New Forest was easy for us on our bikes and the roads around the area were quiet. The kitchen was very well equipped to a high standard, living room large with comfortable seating, bathroom and bedroom both a good size, the fan in the bedroom worked well. The pool was private, large and easy to set up. A lovely addition was been able to buy fresh eggs and home made jams, both tasted amazing and we bought lots to take home. Our hosts were very friendly and made us welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend this place and we would return.

If we could have changed anything it would be to have the accommodation on the ground floor, but that didn't spoil our stay. The bed was a bit noisy as the springs pinged when we moved.

Everything. Excellent location for Salisbury and the New Forest. Cottage comfortable and well equipped. The surrounding area is beautiful. Pool is an added bonus, which we would have used more if there hadn't been so much else to explore. Sue's homemade jam is delicious.

Fabulous place to stay. Well equipped, comfortable everything you need and a great location Hosts were very friendly and we loved using the pool and outdoor space . Our daughter liked her ‘den’ Only regret was that we weren’t staying longer . Would stay again

Being very very picky , shower was a little hard to get right temperature balance and not very powerful, but that’s it .. everything else was great ..

The property was beautiful and peaceful. We had such a wonderful time and Trevor and Sue were excellent hosts. The pool was an added bonus and throughly enjoyed swimming everyday. Our son was also able to help feed the sheep one morning which was great fun. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Extremely clean

An amazing trip! The hosts were wonderful, the property is brilliant and location is fantastic. We have just returned and cannot stop smiling after having such a nice weekend. I cannot recommend enough staying at the retreat. Extra special thanks to Sue who went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time. Highlights include pool, fire pit, country walks on your doorstep and my 4 year old was so pleased with being able to feed the animals. Thanks guys, we really appreciate it and cant thank you enough.

Everything was superb. Sue and Trevor were lovely hosts. And the Kings head pub at the end of the road is also superb. Thank you Sue and Trevor, you have a beautiful property in a beautiful location.

We didn't have enough time to use all facilities the property had to offer. We will be back to correct that. Just a 2 night stay on this visit.

An amazing place to stay, very comfortable. Kitchen excellently supplied with everything you would need and more. The garden was great with a fire pit and amazing views over fields in the day and great for stargazing at night. Our hosts were amazing and incredibly helpful. The swimming pool was a great added bonus. All in all a great place to spend a birthday week whilst the country was still under some covid restrictions. Would happily stay here again.

The layout was a little different but ok once I remembered where everything was. To be honest there wasn't anything I didn't like.

Very clean and tidy. Comfortable and spacious including lots of outside space.

Could do with a decent shower.
