Beautiful vacation house, well appointed kitchen, excellent view of the lake with lake access. Situated between both Tacoma and Seattle, close to hiking trails and town.

Our second weeklong stay put us under the spell of this special place. John is a great host and the house is very comfortable. The trail to the top of Echo Peak is steep, but on a clear day you have a great view of Mt.Rainier. Looking forward returning next year.

This stay was wonderful! From the start, the communication with the owners was excellent, and that continued during our stay. If we needed anything, they were there to help. The home is well decorated and matched the pictures in the listing. There are several gathering places in the home, and we were on the deck a lot. Everything was available to cook our own meals, and the house is very organized. The landscaping was beautiful, and the view to the lake is unbeatable. We were able to use the boats on the lake and walked the trail up the mountain with the trailhead a few houses away. This was our first VRBO, and we give it a five-star rating and recommend it to anyone!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this delightful home on the shore of Lake Desire. The deck was fabulous for meals and relaxing, the kitchen was very well equipped, and the home was comfortable. We loved having access to kayaks and a private dock. The owners were very thoughtful and available when needed while ensuring our privacy. They left a lovely bouquet of fresh herbs from their garden on arrival. We hope we can visit again.

Hard to leave to large deck overlooking the lake and forest. Serene and peaceful. The house was good with all the basics and good size. Clean and the hosts who live next door were great and not intrusive. Great trail a few houses down and my husband loved hiking to the summit. Great view of Mr Ranier. Boats also available for use. 2 miles to grocery store in a good sized shopping center. Southcenter mall about 15 minutes. Want to return next year!!

This is a very clean home set in a beautiful location. Very clean and well stocked. Owner was very attentive to needs. Home is located in an area that is easy to get to airport and all things Seattle.

Let's just say the hosts were perfect. They made the stay welcoming and so easy from check in to check out. The home is beautiful with great views. The accommodations were just what we were looking for. The beds are so comfortable! The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need. I brought items along for just in case, but never had to use anything because it was already there. If your looking for a quiet , tranquil, and inviting home with wonderful hosts look no further because this is it. Close to stores, gas stations, and restraunts. Easy drive to Seattle. This home overlooking a forested lake was well furnished with comfortable beds and stylish furniture that was inviting. We felt at home with the property quickly. A bonus was the dramatic photography reflecting the owner’s world travels. The property was lovingly landscaped with pathways through well kept shrubs and flowers reflecting the flavor of the Nortwest. Although the home had a secluded feeling to it, we were only minutes away from the essentials such as groceries and Starbucks! We encountered no problems and the hosts were most gracious. We have no reservations about recommending this home and would choose it again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this home! We were able to have a easy day trip to downtown Seattle and multiple outings around the area. Especially we enjoyed Snoqualmie Falls, hiking the Echo Mt trails. We also spent hours and hours at the lake with a pedal boat and fishing. Host John was readily available to help and easy to communicate. The house is clean and has everything we need to have comfortable stay. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Our family is incredibly grateful for John & Patti and the VRBO that allowed us to bring together cousins who had never met, grandparents from opposite sides of the country and aunts and uncles who hadn't all been together in more than 7 years. It truly was a home away from home and we now consider John & Patti and extension of our family. THANK YOU for helping us create memories! Our stay was EPIC! ...and will not soon be forgotten!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lakefront home! The location was perfect for us. We enjoyed several outings less than an hour away – Snoqualmie Falls, wine tasting in Woodinville, Pacific Bonsai Museum, and Museum of Glass. Seattle is also within an hour’s drive. Our last day, we ventured a little farther afield to Mt. Rainier National Park. Quiet and serene, there were also plenty of things to do without leaving ‘home base’; we had fun kayaking on the lake and hiking the Echo Mt trails. The house was clean, provided for all our needs, and decorated with amazing photos taken on the owner’s worldwide travels. Along with the comfy Tempur-Pedic mattress, quality linens, and plentiful towels, there were also multiple thoughtfully provided area brochures, trail maps, guides, and local restaurant menus. Even better, hosts John and Patti were readily available to help in any way they could to make our stay exceptional! Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

This house was perfect for three generations reuniting on a cool lake in the Pacific Northwest. John and Patti were ideal hosts, generous with their time, knowledge of birds and wildlife, sharing of watercraft, and even the gift of dahlias and fruit from their garden. All while respecting our privacy next door. Whether you love relaxing on a lovely deck overlooking Lake Desire or kayaking, pedaling, or rowing around the lake, or hiking on nearby trails, it’s perfect for a family vacation. Many activities can be found in the area, but we had everything we needed in our little blue house. Hope to return again.

Beautiful mid-century property in a perfect setting. Our group of 4 senior women chose this property for our knitters retreat and reunion. The lakefront location provided spectacular views and opportunity to enjoy the abundance of birds. (Two bald eagles flew within feet of the deck.) We cooked most meals in the well equipped kitchen. The recently updated appliances were a treat. We did not choose to use the variety of boat options available for renter use, but can imagine how much fun families with kids would enjoy the opportunity. Furnishings and linens are all up to date and beds very comfortable. Owners John & Patti were wonderful hosts and committed to making sure we had an enjoyable stay.

This property was perfect for our family of four. The view of the lake drew us to this lake house on VRBO and it did not disappoint. The view was amazing, the kids enjoyed the boats and fishing. We really enjoyed the pictures in the house and learning about the travels of the owners. The location is close to Seattle and great hiking. This is a must stay for a relaxing family visit.
