Location fantastic very short walk into Skipton.
Great parking
With not knowing the area, the property was very close to church, which rang its bells every hour all though the night which woke me on all occasions, resulting in myself and husband having very little sleep.

The warm welcome checking in and the help with parking my car on the awkward car park ( apparently the car park is graded therefore cannot be touched) Lovely clean fresh room with a gorgeous bathroom. Smiling staff on the day we arrived.
The following morning, we woke up early and I was hungry. I ordered a simple fried egg on bread but it was inedible as it was far too overcooked and way too crisp. I also found the waitress somewhat rude like she didn't really wanted to be there - she didn't smile once, however, it was exchanged for another but equally disappointing. We checked out. Got back home and wrote an average rating on tripadvisor...late that evening around 11pm YES 11pm I received a call from the owner hurling abuse at me down the phone. I found it extremely unprofessional especially given the time of day of contact. I hadn't realised they held my mobile contact number. I was quite shaken up. If the owner had an issue with my review he should of conducted himself with professionalism during office hours. I had to block his number.

Room very comfortable, only there briefly, staff very friendly, very informative and always helpful. Didn't have breakfast but ample supplies of tea and coffee in room. Car parking good and on site.
Price was higher than advertised on website, although we booked through booking.com and got the last room on the weekend of the food and drink festival, late on, so had we booked a week later the price would have been lower.

Fabulous pub with a wonderfully warm welcome. The food is excellent and a hop, skip and jump into town. Would highly recommend and will most definitely stay again.

Lovely staff, amazing food and great location! Bed was extremely comfortable
The bathroom was quite small and the shower was very low pressure and temperamental.

very nice
for a £150 for one night I didn’t think paying £27 for breakfast was right Shirley it should be included for £150 a night

Lovely comfortable room
Clean with nice little details
Carried my bags to my room, and friendly staff and owner
Evening meal was great, considering it was steak night and I dont eat meat or dairy, still had plenty of options and food was lovely
Breakfast the following day was lovely and made again to suit my dietary needs
Will stay again when next in the area
Not a lot really....
if I was being picky it would be:
Church bells (but thats not the hotels fault)
Shower not powerful enough for me

Didn't get the opportunity.
When we arrived we were booked in and shown to our room by the manager. We were put in the attic room, which was freezing. We were then told the radiators weren't working in the bedroom or bathroom. The windows were single glazed. We were given a plug-in fan heater, which wasn't adequate to heat the bedroom and obviously couldn't be put in the bathroom, which kept over heating and switching off, hence why it wasn't on when we arrived. Damp patches covered the walls and made the bedding damp. We asked to be moved to another room but were told no rooms were available. We then asked for a refund as we couldn't stay in a freezing cold damp room, which we paid £282 for. The manager said to cancel through booking.com, and we would receive a refund. Booking.com still haven't received a response to their request for a refund from the hotel. I have emailed and messaged, but still no response. The customer service from this hotel is shocking. They basically ignore you. We appreciate that maintenance issues can arise, but we should have been informed there was an issue with the room before we arrived, not just dumped in there and expected to accept these conditions. I would avoid this hotel at all costs. Totally ruined our 40th wedding anniversary weekend.

The hosts were very attentive & made us feel very welcome. It was very clean & in an excellent location. The food was amazing.
The room we stayed in was very nice ie the beds were comfy, the bathroom very bright, great shower, however it was extremely noisy. I think the noise was coming from the kitchen, this went on until 11.45 pm both nights & again early in the morning. Banging doors, talking & we could hear the sounds of equipment being moved, put away etc. The couch was very comfortable but where's it's positioned, the draft coming from under the door made it quite cold. I rolled a towel up to act as a draft excluder.

The place looks gorgeous and characterful. The staff (especially Fred, the manager) were all friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely too.
A warning to motorcyclists: ask if you can park in the triangle out at the front. The slope with gravel to the main car park is dangerous for two wheels.
I would also highly recommend earplugs because the neighbouring church chimes every quarter of an hour 24/7.
Also keep your bedroom windows closed or only slightly ajar if you don't like wasps. They go for the apples falling in the car park.
The room was also a bit small for all my touring gear but it was the last one and used to be a storage cupboard!
I don't blame the staff for any of the above. It's all completely out of their control.

The Curious Fox is situated in the old part of Skipton, close to the Church and Castle. Has recently had a major refurbishment, and is in excellent decorative order, our room looked over the town and directly onto the Church Spire.
The food in the Restaurant was excellent, well presented and a pleasure to eat. The bathroom in our room had a Jacuzzi and multi jet shower.
I can't really think of any criticism, only thing to mention is if you travel by car, and it has low ground clearance, care is needed in the carpark, but that's the same all over Yorkshire.

Good sized room
Sliding door of bathroom needs some attention.
