Thank you for a lovely stay. We had everything we needed for a long weekend away. The location was perfect for accessing Southport and the ferries, which were our priorities. Our daughter loved watching the boats and ships pass in the river. We would love to come back soon.

My husband and I, and our 4 year old daughter had THE BEST stay at the River Hotel! It was clean, and Ruth left the sweetest welcome note for us, along with some snacks, waters and bubbles for the little one! Not to mention, you have access to the pool, and private beach access! We were super close to the shops and restaurants. We had the such a great time, and look forward to staying here again!

Attention to details from host: welcome note, water bottles, snack basket, ice ready in freezer, fully stocked kitchen. Location: small beach front property about .5 mile walk from town. You can not walk on beach, but can walk/bike on road. Parking: covered/uncovered available. Shopping/restaurants: many excellent choices. Make sure to check hours as many Southport stores close by 5 pm. Overall experience: 4/5. Rental had smokey smell but hosts offered to refund money and were apologetic. We stayed second night since spent most time outside. Not sure if it was previous renters or conditions in rental.

My friends & I came for a bachelorette weekend. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and had a homey feeling. They left us snacks, water, extra blankets, and beach towels. The private beach & pool was relaxing to enjoy. I definitely will stay here again when I return.

Loved the condo; warm and cozy! Very welcoming w/ the personalized welcome note and snacks & water. Can't wait to stay there again! Informed Ruth of the slow tub drain and need to probably change the shower head. Definitely not deal breakers!

Great property. 100% Let’s start with the pool and private beach. Fabulous. The unit was immaculate. VERY comfortable bedding. Kitchen well equipped. We cooked in a few times. Host info was informative and on spot! We walked to the shops and restaurants. A good walk in the most wonderful and quaint town. Definitely returning.

We were in town for 2 days. Condo was as described. Beds were comfy. Linen, towels coffee, and water were provided. Little surprise personal gift was a great addition! She had board games, magazines and books available to read. Beach towels and extra fluffy blankets for the bed. There was a wedding taking place there and parking was a little tough getting in on one of our nights. Great communication with owner. Only negative which is out of their control was the upstairs people were very loud walking around at night. Other than that, great stay!

everything was perfect and exactly how it’s listed! condo was clean! all of the staff we talked to were very friendly & helpful! perfect location close to all of the shops and restaurants! we loved the private beach access too! will definitely be staying again!

We found the place to be just as expected on the vrbo site. It was a little further than I anticipated from Southport but the short car ride didn’t bother us any. Loved the fact we had a pool and private beach access. Will stay again!

We had a great mini-moon here after our wedding on Saturday, March 18, 2023!! The condo was in a great location with a nice view and was very clean! We even had a wonderful welcome basket with treats for our stay. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because the hot water heater was so small it was hard to get two back to back showers. But then again, I like long showers with my water scalding so it probably wouldn’t be an issue for most people 😊 There was even a mixup of my checkout day (totally my fault) and Ruth accommodated my last-minute request to stay an extra night. I would definitely recommend this unit for a stay in Southport! Also highly recommend The Saucy Southerner for breakfast or lunch, the Edgwater for dinner, and the Smokehouse for home cooking!

Awesome condo with a beach view and within walking distance to shops, restaurants and so much more. Easy check-in and checkout process. The owner was quick to respond when contacted.

Unit is beach chic and the books on the Southport community history are a nice touch. I was very comfortable and caught the sunrise and a shooting star from the balcony.

This property was perfect for me on my first trip traveling alone. Pool was wonderful so late in the year. Room was clean and I felt very welcome with the basket of goodies and personalized message to me. Thanks so much!

Nice, peaceful area, lovely, spotless condo with extras by hostess. Wanting for nothing except an actual beach to walk on as the beach here is small with private homes and docks on each side with no trespassing. Southport is historic, a beautiful community with historic homes along the Intercostal waterway. The Maritime Museum is a great collection of historic photos and stories.

Stayed in this lovely property for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The property was immaculate and had everything you could’ve possibly needed. Ruth really and truly has a lovely touch and made our stay effortless. She was kind enough to check in repeatedly and make sure our stay was going well. I really can’t recommend this stay enough. Can’t wait to come back!!!!

All the comforts of home. This unit was spotlessly clean and very inviting and welcoming as was the hostess. We had fresh flowers and a beach bucket full of surprises awaiting us on check-in. The owner stayed in contact with us and was prompt to answer any questions we had. I encourage anyone to stay here. It was perfect for us.

My husband and I met up with some friends to golf! Ruth was a great host! She helped on directions and recommendations in the area! Loved the location and the place! We had a wonderful stay at Escape to the Cape! The condo was sparkling clean and decorated in a cute beach theme. We were greeted by a personal message and a treat basket! The communication with Ruth was top notch. Will definitely be back!

We had such a great time. Everything was so peaceful. The pool was our favorite thing to do.

We loved this property! It was the perfect location to everything in Southport. We did have to drive to the beach but we knew that before booking. The room was clean, had a decent size kitchen and the balcony was a nice bonus. My kids absolutely loved the pool as well and it was great to have the pool right next to the Cape Fear River. We will definitely stay at this location again!!
