The hosts are very friendly and considerate. They shared some invaluable local tips and suggestions. The room at the guesthouse was clean, spacious and comfortable.

No tea/coffee making facilities or microwave, though there was a shared use of a fridge.

The size of our room was great and everything was super clean and tidy. The location is excellent. A short drive to the entrance of Plitvička and also lots of restaurants. Our host was brilliant! She works in Plitvička Park, so is full of knowledge. She recommended which routes to take and how to make the most of the day. It really paid off as we fitted everything in and thoroughly enjoyed our day. She recommended a nearby restaurant, which was fantastic and we ended up eating there every night of our short stay. You really can't beat the location and the host was thoroughly welcoming. It was great for our short stay. We would return.

We couldn't shut our window fully, so the room felt a little chilly in the evening and we could hear a lot of the noise from outside. It was a shame not to be able to make a hot drink in the evening, but for the short time we were there it was not too much of a problem.

The pleasantness of the property was all about the host, Marijana. She was very friendly and extremely helpful. She answered questions we had from a day before we checked in, and offered a car to pick us up from the Rakovica bus station (the property is then circa 2 mins drive from there). She also went out of her way to drive us to Grabovac the next morning to catch the bus from there to the lakes. Just extremely amazing and kind. The property is about 15 minutes drive to the lakes if that’s your destination. The room was clean and a decent size, as was the bathroom. We also got offered a kettle when we asked which was helpful for tea.

Unfortunately we were met with lots and lots of mosquitoes after check in! We did a search around the room for an opening and found the netting of the window was entirely torn at the bottom. There was no AC either, so the only way to cool down and for ventilation was to leave the windows in the room and bathroom open. As a result, we didn’t get any sleep, lots of mosquito swatting all through the night. Early morning started with cows mooing in the background but we hadn’t slept anyway so I guess that was not a problem. There were issues with mobile network as well, so struggled to book a cab when not connected to Wi-Fi and cabs wouldn’t pick the trip from the guesthouse, not sure if it’s the norm or just the day.

We stayed two nights and the whole experience was great. Very clean room, perfect location for going to Plitvice, tasty breakfast... altogether great experience!

Best guest house experience, the owner’s family is very hospitable and kind, the family helped us a lot during our stay. It is located in a cute peaceful village, very easy to reach and transfer to the park and surrounding areas, also the breakfast was delicious, thank you so much for everything and if we come back to visit the park again, will definitely choose to stay with Guest House Magdalena!
