the shower water did no maintain a stable temperature, kept changing from hot to cold the blackout curtains were smaller than the window, so light passed through in the morning, waking us up

Antonia was a super host, family run traditional hotel, great value prices, comfortable beds. the hotel and streets were quiet in April (pre Easter) with all retail closed early, which meant a quiet 2 nights for us. Room facilities are basic but adequate for the price. nice restaurant/bar underneath serving food/breakfast, friendly staff. sea views from balcony. close to bus stops and beach. thanks Antonia.

no lift might be an issue for some, sound proofing might be an issue in high season.

Cala Millor has a shortage of budget (2-star) hotels like this one; costs half as much as a 4-star hotel. Clean, spacious rooms with oversized bed and modern bathroom. Heavy blackout drapes. Fast, stable internet. Large, cold fridge with freezer compartment (not a crappy hotel minibar). Good room lighting. 1-block from beach. Nice balcony with nice ocean view.

Non-soundproof thin walls. Non-soundproof hollow plywood room-door. It has an old-style key-lock with no deadbolt, which could easily be picked. It also has an ill-fitting frame with a large gap on the bottom, allowing mosquitos to enter at night, even with the balcony-door shut (I laid a towel under the door to keep them out). Bathroom has no fan and unstable shower temperature. Weak central A/C, doesn't get below about 24 in the room during the day (on max. setting). Thermostat doesn't work, only fan setting and on/off-switch work. Unfriendly owner who reacted to my requests as though I were a nuisance, although I was a guest for nearly 2 weeks, the hotel was nearly empty this summer, and my requests were reasonable (e.g. to replace my sheets every 3 days as per written hotel policy). For example, I reported to her one morning that some young people in the hostal across the street had partied loudly on their balcony until at least 3am (extremely unusual and inconsiderate for this quiet family resort), preventing me from sleeping since I was in an end-unit closest to them. I wanted to request a room change, but she impatiently interrupted me before I had the chance. First, she defensively stated that she was not responsible for what happened outside of the hotel (I hadn't claimed otherwise), and then unhelpfully „suggested“ that I switch hotels without any refund for early departure (i.e. pay for 2 hotels at the same time). Only after I was belatedly allowed to make my request to change rooms did she accede to it. And although the reception desk is usually vacant, she didn't answer my (daytime) phone calls, so good luck if you get locked out of your room.
