A lovely old, fashioned hotel in a superb setting, right in the city centre. The room was warm and comfortable. It's a very quiet building, and set back a bit from the main roads so not too noisy at night.
The tea bags were old and tasteless. The building is separate from the main hotel, which is fine, but I found it a bit challenging finding the room the first time, especially loaded down with luggage.

The heating did not work. A member of staff said he had fixed it . He didn't. It was a very cold night. When I left, I left a phone message and an E Mail asking for a refund. I did not even receive a reply, let alone a refund. I still have not heard back. Appalling. Such a shame. I thought I had found a little gem for my occasional visits to Canterbury.

The property was very clean, quiet and comfortable, and a great value for money. Definitely will consider staying here again.
The only qualm I had about the room, is that the shower didn’t seem to want to turn on. It would have been nice to have been notified of this beforehand.

Location was great as I was working at The Marlowe Theatre. Single comfy Bed alright just for me on my own.
The breakfast could have been a bit more varied.

the property was in a quiet and handy position
No heating at all on our first night. the property, been old was very cold. the heating was fixed later on our second day. The staff were informed of our poor stay and as of yet the manager as not been in touch to discuss. We spoke to Bex (very sympathetic) assured us the matter would be resolved.

The location was ideal, right in the heart of town. The staff we interacted with were friendly and polite, and they offered to look after our bags so we could explore the town after our check-out. The room is spacious for the price, it was really nice to have a table and chairs there.
The communication was terrible. I called and emailed ahead to check about the check-in time and got no answer, only to be reminded that we were early when we got there. Our room had already been cleaned which was great but there was still pee in the toilet. One of the ceiling lights was not working. It was a warm day but the radiator was pumping out heat. Of two numbers provided to call to report issues, only one answered, and they told me that was the wrong one. They told me to turn the thermostat down in the stairwell - we did this and nothing happened. The radiator was still hot the next morning. Half the buttons on the TV remote were broken and when we called to report this they told me it could be replaced the next day - we were only staying one night. I requested a double bed and received confirmation that my "special request" had been granted, but the bed was actually two stained twins pushed together with a single mattress over the top. The mattress was saggy to the point of discomfort. Between that and the radiator, we were lucky to get any sleep. Two days after we checked out, I got an email telling me what the check-in time was. I responded to that email detailing all of the above, and have given them a week to respond - characteristically have heard nothing. A real shame as it could so easily have been a very different experience.

No breakfast
The hotel doesn’t answer emails or return calls. I made 3 attempts to contact them in order to change my booking but they failed to get back to me. They took full payment at the point of booking and then failed to refund me money for a night after I changed my booking

Good location in city centre
The long walk from The car park to the pilgrims hotel to collect the key and check in then the long walk back to Peregrine House. The remote control for the TV was missing, I had to call the Pilgrims Hotel to get the wifi code as there was no info in the room. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work so after a shower the whole room looked like a sauna, no soap or shower gel provided either.
Lots of dust on surfaces and worst of all a toe nail clipping on the carpet.

Location amazing, bed comfy and room a great size.
The radiator came on full blast on the first day, there was no way of turning it off. Messaged the property but still awaiting a reply. Apparently that is a problem, staff communication. Make sure you go to the Pilgrims hotel to collect your key, it seems alot of people struggled with this concept.

Room was lovely. Great location and good facilities. Just a shame about checking in.
There are no staff on site. On arrival was waiting outside for ages. Luckily a very kind lady and gentlemen from the school next door informed me that I have to check in at another hotel! I was not informed of this before arrival. This was disgraceful in all honesty. I even phoned to ask about parking (which was also a lot of effort) before arrival and was not informed.

Terrible experience been trying to contact the property for three days via several methods, booking.com and direct on their email address but have been completely ignored.

Convenient for the centre of the city but quiet location up a small street
Very handy being able to park for free at Castle House Hotel but then having to carry luggage to hostel and then check in at the Pilgrims Hotel all a bit of a challenge

Tea coffee milk sachets all out of date. Smoke alarm above bed had a sock over it. Food waste piled up outside front door.

Lady on reception was lovely
Chewing gum on the window sill next to the bed, floor uneven looked like the wardrobe would fall over onto us, at the bottom of the shower the plastic thing at the front kept falling down, the room was freezing and the heating didn't work, we had to push the 2 single beds together, defo wouldn't stay here again
