The position was excellent, overlooking the harbour of Vathy, enjoying the view with all the sailing boats, the beautiful yaghts and the small fishing boats. The private pool was also nice to have. All in all it's an excellent place to stay. I have explained to the manager of the hotel that the cleaning of the property needs to improve to match the quality of the property

Cleaning needs to improve

The location is sublime, right on the quiet and beautiful harbour with really nice facilities: pool, terrace, turtle pond...etc. the breakfast was delicious and the team very friendly and helpful.

The bathrooms are a little old. But that is represented in the really good price. For two people with hardware each the number of power sockets is a little short. But none of this should deter you to go.

We revisited Captain Yiannis after 18 years, it's still a wonderful place for a vacation. Stefanos is so welcoming. Breakfast for us was brilliant & I'm really shocked at the bad breakfast reviews on this online. Our breakfasts consisted of Tea/Coffee, juice, pot of greek yogurt, apple pie, slices of fresh bread, butter, jam, chocolate spread, sliced ham, cheese, fresh melon and tomato & cucumber, every day... there was enough for us to take to the beach for lunch. The pool, bar & reception are are all lovely with amazing views. If I'm completely honest our room was a little dated but was clean & everything worked. Yes there are wasps, mozzies but this is Greece and we didn't find them to be a nuisance. We sadly were hit by a medicane (cyclone) while there which did leave us without power & running water for 3 of our 5 days which was such a shame but has left us wanting to travel back to Captain Yiannis and do it all over again. The cyclone but hey ho you never know what mother nature will through at you. Small point but we would have preferred more than one sheet for the bedding, we did ask & were given another sheet but would have loved a light blanket/throw.
