I booked this cottage by mistake, and was deeply dissatisfied by the owners response to my cancellation request. It was not refundable, but I understood from booking.com the owners consider exceptional refund requests on a case by case basis. The cottage did not suite my needs (I needed three bedrooms, while it has only two, and I couldn't let a single young woman spend the nights in the same room with a young couple). But although I asked to cancel the booking more than 5 (five!) months before check-in, Sky Holding Cottages, the owner "could not" refund me even partially, My only return for my money was the ability to tell you about their dreadful attitude via this review. They had nearly half a year to find a renter instead of me, and yet, couldn't care less about me. I tried to connect them via booking.com, directly by email, and directly by phone. The answer was always the same: an unexplained refusal, to even a partial refund. (The experience over the phone was exceptionally unpleasant). While their actions might have been legal, they were very inconsiderate. Sky Holding Cottages insisted I pay 1500 GBP for my mistake, and not a penny less. I travel around the world for over 20 years now, and never met such attitude. I learned my lesson not to do business with them ever again, and paid for this lesson quite a lot. I hope you can make good use of my experience. If you got so far, I should tell you I found other places to stay in, and all 5 of us had a wonderful week in Cornwall. The area is really magnificent. Just find a considerate host. Most of booking.com's hosts - are.
