Parking and entry time

Location was pretty good. A short walk to most places. Couch and smart TV were nice. WiFi fast enough. Did the job for a few nights.

Shower was terrible, blocked drain and at times impossible to control the temp (scolding hot). The blinds in the bedroom don't block out much light, so a sleep mask is advisable.

Great value and location, central to the shops, pubs and restaurants. The apartment easily caters for 4/5 people and the communication from the host (Jake) was superb. We stayed there last year and didn’t hesitate to return this time.

It could be us, but we struggled to get the standard TC channels other than things like iPlayer etc.

Jake was a fantastic, attentive host. Really made us feel welcome and was very helpful in the lead up to our visit in helping me with some accessabikity questions. The apartment is cute and had pretty much everything we needed for our stay. It's comfortable and clean and we were encouraged to make ourselves at home. There's lots of space in the living room which was nice and though it's part of a block of flats it was really quiet and the neighbours were friendly. Really liked the area and there's a brilliant cafe just at the top of the street that does incredible breakfasts (Couch)

Before I write anything here it's worth stating that this is only included for completeness and balance and none of these things would prevent me from booking here again! While the apartment is listed as ground floor, don't assume this equates to accessibility. There's steps to get down to the front door, a step up into the property, steps down into the main bedroom (pictured in the listing) and two very deep steps down to the bathroom. The parking situation isn't ideal as the lane the apartment is in is residents only. So make sure you do your research about parking on the surrounding streets and the nearby NCP and other car parks as it can get very pricey if you choose the wrong spot. We had a little ant invasion during our stay sadly. There'd been a run of warm dry days and they were visibly active outside in the courtyard. By the evening of our arrival they were in the hallway, kitchen and living room. Jake was mortified and apologized. He was looking to resolve the issue for the next guests. But sadly it was something we had to contend with throughout our stay. The shower temperature was a bit temperamental and could either be tepid to too hot to stand under with no response from the temperature mixer on the shower to alter this. Was just luck of the draw.

Excellent location, within an easy walk of both the city centre and university. The street was very quiet, with plenty of (payable) parking. The apartment was clean and warm and equipped with all the basics. Excellent choice of streaming services. Communication with the host was easy and he was really quick to resolve issues.

There were some issues with housekeeping: missing/broken/dirty crockery and cutlery, heating not working and a blocked shower drain. The host was very quick to fix this and it didn't spoil our stay. We would have liked tea towels in the kitchen and somewhere to hang raincoats.

The location is very near city centre, many places are in walkable distance e.g. west street, moor market. The place is very clean, tidy and homey. The host is also friendly and helpful, he helped us with the heaters and came to fix it once we voiced out the problem. Overall, we enjoyed our stay :)

Modern decor Good info from Jake for checking in, parking etc

Needs a deep clean in the bathroom. After reading so many reviews stating 'spotlessly clean' we were really disappointed. No contact from anyone after sending this message early prior to check out...... Morning We had no problem checking in etc and the flat is modern and bright however we are pleased it was only a place to lay our heads for one night. It may just be me but the rest of a property can be spotless but the cleanliness of the bathroom is really important. The floor in the shower room is really gross! There's so much DNA from previous occupants that I couldn't bring myself to shower 😫. It needs a deep clean of all the hairs. Look in corners and wipe skirting boards. This put me off so much that I never ventured into the kitchen! Your beds aren't comfortable either. Mattress very lumpy, springy and bumpy. Sorry guys! Think it needs some TLC. This is the first property I've booked on here and been disappointed with.
