The cabin was as advertised. Our group loved the 3 season porch for board games at night after dinner when we weren’t at the fire pit. I personally enjoyed the porch in the morning while my hubby was mountain biking at Redhead at the Chislom Discovery Center. The cabin had everything we needed and Mark was great at communicating before and during our visit. Overall, you will not be disappointed.

Would definitely come back again.

We had such a wonderful time at this sweet cabin. Swimming, kayaking, little nature walks saw so many animals, campfires and tons of laughs and great memories we will cherish. Thank you Mark!

My husband and I had a wonderful, peaceful time at Mark's cabin. Due to health issues, we were unable to bring our boat, but we had a great time fishing off the dock! We shopped at Zup's grocery store in Cook, it had everything we needed! We even brought home 6 porketta, as we don't have them here in Northern Iowa!! We're looking forward to our return visit!

Loved our stay at Mark's property. We had a big storm roll through and we were out of power for 48 hours. But Mark had a generator to use to keep our groceries safe. Which of course was awesome back up plan for the "act of nature". Pretty much from Cook out to the point was out of power for this extended time. The property is awesome and location is ideal for our family.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. We were primarily there to fish and the location with it’s central access was perfect. We caught enough Walleye to eat everyday and took home our limit. The cabin is comfortable and nicely updated. We will rent again.

This cabin and setting on Lake Vermilion is absolutely fantastic. The cabin is so very nice! Kitchen is great, nice bathroom, fantastic 4 season porch, nice bedrooms. The deck was a favorite spot as well. The bunk house was great for our family and so charming right on the lake. Easy walk to the marina for snacks and supplies during the week. And ice cream treats!! We loved it and will be back!

What a lovely place to explore this pretty corner of the world! We had a wonderful time fishing for perch, bluegill, sunfish, and bass right off the dock (which we fried up for a delicious dinner!). We grilled, made campfires, made use of the canoe, and my kiddos played in the water at the shore. The house and grounds were super clean and well-kept and Mark was extremely easy to reach if I had a question. We also rented a pontoon boat for the week and used that every day. Our big kids loved staying in the dock house in “their own” apartment just a few feet from the dock. All in all, a wonderful stay and would heartily recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the area!

The remodeled cabin was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The screen porch over looking the lake and the deck were perfect spots for coffee or a cold refreshment. The location on Vermilion was great! Minimal boat traffic and calm. We were able to fish and get some tubing in with our boys (15 and 11). It was nice to be close to walk to Timbuktu for bait and ice cream. We plan to stay again!

Tucked away down a beautiful dead end road. Great for short walks to the Timbuktu Marina for another six pack or necessities. Especially beautiful with the leaves changing. Excellent lake location with quick access to east and west sides. Less wind in the narrows. Nice dock with electric close to charge your boat batteries. Cabin was just as pictured, boat house was very nice. Has everything you need for your stay. Friendly Fox comes to visit everyday. Mark was a pleasure to deal with. Recommend this property above many I’ve stayed in on Lake Vermilion.

This cabin is on a great location on lake vermilion. There is lots to explore by motor boat or canoe/kayak. The owner was very helpful and the whole trip was smooth and as expected. Highly recommended!

We’ve rented cabins on Vermillion for 10 years. We finally found the perfect cabin to come back to. The cabin is beautiful!, it’s very clean,great bunkhouse on the water and a screen porch. We had fun fishing off the dock and making a campfire every night. We didn’t want to leave, A great place to make family memories.

Our group of two families with young kids had a great time here. Property was just as advertised- clean, well kept and great location.

This was our fourth stay at this property. We love the cozy feel of the cabin, and the location can't be beat. My kids love the beach and dock fishing, which kept them entertained for hours. Charming, clean, and always comfortable. Highly recommend.

Absolutely serene get away for our family. 4 adults and 2 children (6 year old and 1 year old) fit very comfortably in the Cabin and boat house. (We did 2 adults and 1 child in each building). Both buildings were pristine and really gave us the feeling of being on the 'Lake'. This placed turned out to be perfect for our two young children. With the small sandy strip by the dock they were able to play on the shore every day and my daughter's favorite part of the trip was swimming in the lake with daddy every day. And having such a great view of the lake meant that even when the kids needed some down time we still felt like we were on the lake. While there we also used the firepit (with wood supplied for us), grilled 3-4 times on the brand new gas grill, and fished from the dock and caught something about every 3rd cast. Our host also had a boat available to rent the week we were there which was great as we were able to make small trips out onto the lake every day. And the canoe got lots of use too with everyone seeing bald eagles at some point. Our host was fantastic too. Before the trip he told us where to stop for food and groceries. He was there to show us everything we needed when we got there. The only help we ever needed was with a squeaky door hinge we were afraid would wake the 1 year old. He had some WD40 on site that fixed the problem instantly. He even dropped off some extra fishing bait by surprise one day. The only complaint the entire time was from one of the adults who is a bit tall and thought the beds were a bit small to share. My wife and I didn't have any trouble with this. But he was able to use the extra futon and so after that first night everyone was able to get good sleep. Loved this place and would highly recommend it.

We had a great time staying at this cabin as a family. There was plenty of space, easy access to the lake, and a yard to play in and enjoy during evenings by the fire. Mark was easy to contact and helped us whenever we had a question leading up to our stay and while we were there. We will definitely stay again!

We've stayed in Vermilion for years. Owner extremely helpful and communicateive checking in before, during and after our stay to make sure everything was great. Absolutely would love to come back! Very clean - everything you need.
