From the moment you drive in, Il Defizio is absolutely breathtaking. The property is so relaxing, peaceful, quiet and of course stunningly beautiful. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating and breakfast was beautiful. We didn’t want to leave this place.

Fantastic location, great place to relax in the countryside. Delicious food (bonus if you are there for one of the days that they serve dinner).

The location, food, pool, the staff. amazing!

The view was stunning, it was in a quiet spot, with views across the valley, the infinity pool was delightful. The terrace where we ate breakfast had beautiful views and there was a great variety of food at breakfast. My children loved the hot chocolates. Andrea, the host was so funny and attentive.

The beds were as hard as wood and the pillows were so flat it was hard to sleep.

Beautiful property in the middle of Toscana, the view is absolutely breathless. Cool Pool area and very nice breakfast hall (cozy cabin style). Room was very comfortable and the bathroom nicely decored. Staff was friendly. Location is great to reach San Gimignano by car (20-25min)

We didn't appreciate that they charged us for towels for the pool (obviously one can not grab the towel from the room for the chlorine water at the pool) I asked the Front desk person for towels for the pool and he gave them to me, without informing that they would be charged later. It came as a surprise later when we checked out. In any other hotel if there is a pool, towels are available for guests, without charge.

Rustic converted farmhouse. comes with superb views and beautiful pool. clean and comfortable and near the stunning towns of Volterra and San Gimignano. best of all, Andre and his wife are fantastic hosts who made bookings for us and provided helpful advice. highly recommend.

the beds could be a little more comfortable. the shower also could drain a little quicker

Wow, what a beautiful place to get away and relax in the peaceful Tuscan countryside. The hosts were amazing! We had just arrived from a wedding and didn’t have a car (which I would say you need!). No task was too much - we were provided with taxis when required and they were always happy to help. The room was authentic and spotlessly clean. The pool was beautiful and the surrounding views speak for themselves. We could not rate this place higher!

Our stay at Il Defizio exceeded our expectations. The agriturismo and its surrounding are very beautiful. The owners and their husbands are very friendly and prepared a very delicious breakfast with regional products. Especially thanks to Andrea who made our late check-in possible. From the room, to the pool, to the garden..everything is very well cared of and an idilic place to relax! We‘d love to come back - THANK YOU for your hospitality.

Rooms/apartments are modern and nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. The poolside and eating area offer the most amazing valley views, pool is great, surrounded by comfortable sun beds, side tables and parasols. Breakfast is good and varied, elaborate lunch options at very reasonable prices and twice a week the family cooks a 4 course meal for those who want to dine in. Again, very affordable prices and amazing home cooking, a real treat! Bar options throughout the day. Always friendly and helpful, this family offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere and you’ll find many guests return year after year. Great location near Volterra and San Gamignano, absolutely recommend to stay here!

It was so relaxing and such a beautiful area. Everyone there was lovely and the atmosphere . It was just so relaxing to sit out by the pool and take in the view and peaceful surroundings. Highly recommend for a couples get away and even families. Very friendly staff.

We loved everything, we had a separated house, it’s a perfect place to relax, it was quiet, the pool was big had beautiful view. The house has nice furniture and kitchen accessories.

We were very glad we chose to stay here. Except for the few small details it was a very lovely and authentic experience. Very friendly and welcoming owner family. Lovely surroundings. Authentic villa stay with extras like pool. Cosy very nice breakfast with a picturesque view over the property and the valley.

The room interior seemed a bit simpler as in the pictures and bathroom quite old school, with bathtub, bidet did not function during the stay. No tissues in the room, only toilet paper.

Wonderful Hotel, breathtaking landscape and the most friendly staff! Fantastic!
