Very comfortable, clean, and peaceful. Short walking distance outside touristy Thamel. Khem and the guys at Elbrus Home are always very friendly, plus solve any issues (e.g. Hot water) immediately if occasionally required.
My dorm room (a few metres from main building, but away from main road) has always been peaceful, and cosy, with excellent WiFi. I have stayed there a few times now.
The garden (where breakfast is served) is so peaceful, and perfect for relaxing away from the beautiful mayhem that is Kathmandu.
There are many reasons why I keep coming back to Elbrus Home :) Highly recommend.

Chill hostel just minutes walking from Thamel Neighborhood. It's a quiet place with a nice garden and rooftop for lounging. The staff are super friendly and helpful and breakfast is excellent! Highly recommended!

Very close to Thamel (the popular backpacker/tourist neighbourhood). The place has a nice outdoor garden. The free breakfast every morning was great. I stayed in an independent room with attached bathroom, which was convenient and spacious.
The property is very old - my room had a strong musty / mouldy smell, so got a bit suffocating unless you opened the windows. The neighbourhood is also very dusty and not very neat.

I was worried about noise from the road but it was tucked away and actually very peaceful. The staff were smiley, mattress was comfy, shower was hot and breakfast was substancial- 2 eggs in chosen style, toast, fruit juice, a banana and tea/coffee.

The breakfast was included in the price and was very good - toast, eggs, mango juice and tea or coffee. We took a room with a shared bathroom, which was okay. The hot shower was amazing. The hotel was crowded, so we had a chance to meet other travellers.
The room was very dark and with no sunlight. When you wake up you don't know what time it is. The hotel is situated within a 10 min walk from some main attractions in the city.

The common areas of the hotel were well maintained, the location is in Thamel but still quiet and close to the tourist bus station (10 mins walk). It has a beautiful garden where the typical Nepal breakfast is being served.
The sheets were a bit dirty and the room itself seemed a bit old, but it was okay for one night.

Great value for the price! Location was very convenient to shops and restaurants in Thamel. My bed was very comfortable, and the omelette and fresh mango juice out in the garden oasis each morning was amazing! Best of all, the owner, Khem, was extremely kind and helpful. I highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Great vibe to start and meet more fellow travellers. Amazing breakfast with many options including fruit, eggs, coffee and juice 😍
5min walk to main Thamel, a lot of local shops and local vibe within in it. Property felt very safe.
Stafd should understand that NO is NO, if I say i will think about it doesnt mean you have to constantly hustling for it... thats annoying for Western standards.
Toilets and rooms could you use some renovation.
Also if someone checks in after midnight, no need to turn lights on in the room, its disreapectful for other guests who are sleeping

What made this place different from other hostels was the staff. Genuinely friendly and warm people.

Great location, 5 mins from Thamel in a quiet location. Staff is amazing, and so is the included breakfast. Hot shower with good water pressure.
