Property owner was very helpful and responsive. Tons of activities for all ages.

My husband, I & a friend w a couple grandkids visited after a light snow. Kids sledded a bit & we had a blast throwing snowballs & building snowmen! Saw elk everyday & deer, plus javalinas w babies at night - because of auto lights :) plenty of room for a lot more ppl as we just used downstairs. Place is very compfortable & has anything you might need. We made some awesome memories. Thanks!

Our family of 12 had a great time at Eagles Retreat! The house was spacious and very well appointed. Plenty of room and tons of seating everywhere! Jeanay was about as attentive as she could possibly be! She followed up with all of my texts, and was amazingly helpful! The only constructive criticism that we had was that the game room could use a freshening/cleaning up. The house itself was immaculate! We definitely look forward to returning!

This is our 2nd stay and I’m ready to make a reservation for a 3rd!! Don’t stay any place else - you’ll be disappointed. Everything about this home (especially the porch) is top notch. A+++++

The place is exactly as it is described and pictured. It was a great place. The owner was very responsive. The facilities were great. The game room was a lot of fun. It was exactly what we needed. Side note: we had elk join the border of the property every morning and evening as we ate breakfast and dinner. They were less than 15 There is a water trough right next to the balcony. That was really cool for us to enjoy, and the property is designed to encourage the elk. None of the kids had been this close to such an animal before, so it was pretty magical for them. We had a great stay. It was everything we wanted.

Cabin is at a great location, very well equipped with everything we needed, plenty of beds for everyone and location was perfect.

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday with our children and grandchildren. We enjoyed the weather, the large cabin, the elk, the view, the forest dirt trails behind us, the play equipment outside, being close to the one room school house, our visit to fire station 41 and 42, hiking at the pizza from Old County Inn, fudge, cooking on the grill, the game room, The Weekender restaurant, family bonding time, hiking at the Tonto Natural Bridge. We also liked how organized everything was especially in the kitchen; plus we appreciated how kind and helpful Jeanay was when I asked a million questions. Our only complains was the water saving feature shut our water off at 9 PM after we did dishes, two grandkids bathed together in the master tub, and one person showered. We were worried about not being able to use the toilets and being able to clean up that evening and the following day. It did come back on by the time we woke the next AM at 4. With that being our only negative, we still give the overall experience five stars and would recommend the Eagle's Retreat to others. We hope to return.

Our large family loves to get together, relax and get out of the summer heat. This place was perfect! Backed up against the national forest, with plenty of wildlife visitors was a thrill for us. Nestled in pine trees without any views of surrounding properties gave us the feeling of wilderness but the cute town of strawberry was close enough to go if we needed. There were tons of sleeping accommodations with extra mattresses and several pack n plays and high chairs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend.

This was an amazing property with beautiful views! The backyard literally backs into the Tonto National Park. Elk come and visit every day and just literally hang out. It feels remote but it’s incredibly close to town. We had a great time and will be back!

Had great commutation with owner until we got to the property. We had agreed on an early check in time. Our group of 19 showed up 30 minutes before agreed upon checkin time just to be told we have to wait 2 hours before we can check in. We had young children in our group and had to wait in the vehicle (snowing outside) for 2.5 hours. Owner ghosted us during this time. Did not return my calls or text messages and never apologized for the 2 hour wait.

Property manager was accommodating and easy to work with. The property is beautiful! We held a small wedding and my sister couldn’t have been happier with how her event turned out. The only thing that I heard a lot of commentary on and agree with myself is that there is a lot of higher tech alarm systems for the house as far as HVAC, burglary, water, doors, etc and it caused a lot of stress for the guests.

We booked this house as a double benefit; not only to stay at but to host our wedding at. The host was very helpful from day one in setting expectations of what was included in our stay. Pros: the house is very spacious and has gorgeous views as well as being nicely decorated, especially for the holidays. It comes equipped with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The game room was a great touch for our guests. The amount of sleeping options was nice for our guests to have their choice of arrangement. We loved the fire place and watching the elk and javelinas out back everyday. Cons: the house sleeps a generous 25 people but you are charged per guest after the first two. This is very different from any normal rental process or even hotel. The hot water in the home seemed to run out on our last night even though only two people had showered during the day. While it’s understandable that people want to monitor their homes and ensure they’re taken care of, the amount of cameras on the property almost felt like a lack of trust and almost an invasion of privacy since it’s mentioned they’re only outside but there’s one on a tree that looks directly into the living room. The locks on the doors kept auto locking and unlocking and at one point while getting up in the middle of the night to get water, I noticed the front door was unlocked. Made us feel a little unsafe that we couldn’t lock the doors and know they would stay locked.

This property exceeded our expectations. The house lived up to its' billing, and our hostess was very responsive to communicate with us whenever we encountered a problem or had a question. When we decide to vacation in this area in the future, we will definitely check to see if this property is available.

I had a retreat and w me and my students had a great experience staying on there. Has a beautiful view, and the bedrooms are very cozy.

Wonderful property with plenty of space to move around if you’re a large group. We were 15. Elk visit a few times a day literally 20-30 ft from balcony. Kitchen super stocked with essentials & then some. There was a grouchy neighbor (by volleyball court) & lack of power for several hours while solar panels were being worked on (neither issue owner was aware of & not her fault). We’d still go back!

Eagles Retreat is a very beautiful spacious home up in the mountains. Sitting out on the porch watching the elk eat from the troughs each afternoon/evening was a special treat. I slept in the master bedroom and the mattress was very comfortable. Because Eagles Retreat is a Smart home the owner discouraged us from opening the windows at night for fresh air. The average nightly temps were in the 50's. I communicated with Jeanay everyday about the temp being too hot during the night as the AC did not cool down every room in the house. She did set the AC lower as requested. She was prompt at returining my text messages. Overall a very nice VRBO, but we would have preferred to have control the AC during the day and being able to open the windows each night.

This was out 2nd visit to the property and it once again didn't disappoint. Tons of space to visit, socialize, sleep, etc. The scenery and elk can't be beat! Communication with the host was exceptional and we had an incredible weekend.

We had a group of 13 including a few young children. The home is in a perfect location with plenty of space to relax and soak in the views. The elk came often and we enjoyed watching them from the deck. The home is stocked with everything you need from linens to kitchen gadgets. I will point out that some of the games in the gameroom were damaged and out of commission but we still had fun and kept the kiddos busy. The host was very attentive. We would definitely return any time of year!

With two large living areas, a huge kitchen, large game room, large wrap-around deck, beautiful location with no neighbors behind you, this is an ideal location to getaway up in the cool pine trees! The house was super well stocked with anything we could need! The host was super attentive and responded quickly. We wish we could stay longer and plan to come again! Everyone in our group loved it! Plus elk eating outside the dining room window was such a fun surprise!

11 friends and family got together for a weekend of board games and hanging out. The house was huge and clean and the view was beautiful, exactly as advertised. (Baby elk are ADORABLE) Communication with the property manager was prompt and helpful. However, I did not expect this property to have the best stocked kitchen I've ever rented from VRBO. My husband and my son are both celiac, so we usually need to rent some place with a kitchen when we vacation, and we usually have to take kitchen supplies with us to boot. (Plastic, silicone, non stick and wood are all not good for gf cooking) This place not only had all the stainless pots and pans anyone could ask for, they had all kinds of kitchen utensils and all the random staples you don't think to put on your shopping list. Multiples of many of them. Cooking for 11 people was a breeze. Highly reccomend.
