Visited earlier this week and all was perfectly in order - a great location, great host and an exceptionally nice house to be staying at. The owners have tended to all details in and around the house (which is on his avocado yard/plantation) - it simply is better than a 5 star hotel, Ridgeton is a luxury yacht on land.

Nothing - once you notice the level of attention paid to details you'll understand there isn't anything to dislike.

We booked 2 rooms but had the entire ground floor for ourselves. This surely has got to be one of the top properties we have stayed at. everything about the place is simply perfect. Extremely beautiful house on top of Avo orchard, exceptionally clean there is literally no spot anywhere in the house, very good hospitality, Breakfast spread was lovely, delicious and plentiful with choices of Bread, Pastry, Cut fruits, muesli, yoghurt, juices and cereals..they even played Indian music in the background for us during breakfast which was such a great personal touch. Think no further and book this up :)

Meticulously maintained and so much thought had gone into what guests may need. We didn’t use the kitchen and laundry but noted how well equipped it was. There is a lovely lounge with newspapers and a selection of board games . Breakfast was extensive and delicious. Cereals and home made muesli with fresh apple and yogurt. Fresh fruits. Scones with jam and cream .Savoury muffins. Avocados and several types of breads. Carrot cake and a choice of coffees and tea. Lack of noise made for a good nights sleep . Comfortable bed. The bedroom and bathroom was new and modern. Really enjoyed talking with the one other guest at breakfast.

Tauranga and the immediate area lacked any quality dining venues

We loved the entire experience and especially the kuiers, comfy bed, manicured garden, impromptu Avo orchard tour, and the views. Your courage to "dare to be different" shines through in your success as hosts, growers, cooks, builders, interior designers, neighbours, and trend setters. You are two spectacular and special humans. We can't wait to come back.

This place was spectacular. From the views, to the gardens, to the beautiful patio spaces with lounge chairs and throw blankets, the avocados and other fruiting plants and flower gardens, the birds, the peace and quiet ,the lovely owners, the fabulous breakfast. This is a place to come and recharge with some wine and a book I wished we could have stayed longer.

I travel a lot for work and always like to try different places. No more when visiting Tauranga, Ridgeton is simply superb and is always going to be my future choice. Do not mess about with others just head here you get a superb welcome, pristine location, luxury accomodation and great breakfasts. Thank you Craig.

It was the perfect getaway to relax and recharge. Craig and Tamzin were lovely and friendly. The stay was amazing.

Quality service and comfortable stay

The breakfast and service was amazing and Craig really looked after us. A walk from our patio area out into the gardens and the view of the Avocardo trees in the forefront and the beach in the distance was fantastic at sunrise.

Pictures do not do justice to this tranquil beautiful place. The host is a lovely man who exceeded all expectations. We have stayed in many different places around the world and nothing compares to the cleanliness and yet home like setting of this tranquil spot. Our breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, something for everyone.

If you can find something not to like at Ridgeton, I would seriously question your ability to recognise quality. There is nothing here not to like, except perhaps that one night is not enough.

I would like to take a moment leave a honest feedback about Ridgeton place stayed there just for one night when we got there Mr Craig welcomed us so warmly show us around and the place is amazing with beautiful view to the beach. once we checked in than we went to town did hiking for hours by time when got back it was a bit late the was left open for us which was amazing. the place is so cleaned an nice can’t explain it honest to GOD just visit the place than judge my comment will see was I telling the truth or not! it’s so beautiful planning take my family there. the money i paid believe it was less than I received the service because just the breakfast was around $50 at least. but thank you so much Craig his amazing wife for the gift. all can say is wish you guys a good health.

Everything was great! Craig was an excellent host. Breakfast was great, all the rooms we had access were sparkling clean. Great attention to the details!
